Use this gif as reference before meeting the final boss, it'll make your life a lot easier. This goes for anyone else in this thread who wants to be Revenge a lot easier, because without it it's way too hard.thanks! i've been putting that off bc of having so much fun retrogaming. lol
but i need to finish revenge this week then i'll get back to completing that kit.

Note it's the room just before the final boss.
Good ending is more rewarding though, anyone can get the "bad" ending but it takes skill to get the good one.
I'm really interested in the Renovation-published games. Sounds like it would be good to collect them. Are most pretty good? Any real bombs in there?
You are really good to get that on your 1st try!Let's not oversell the skill required - it takes a little more effort - I got the good ending the first time I tried to after realizing there was a good ending.

Their output varies between okay and excellent but damn their US boxart generally makes my eyes bleed. Still they have some classics that are required playing like Elemental Master, Granada and Gain Ground. Not to mention personal favorites like Vapor Trail.
They had a number of FMV games on the Sega CD, which are love or hate.
For Genesis carts, Beast Wrestler is pretty shitty, Dino Land is okay but I'm a sucker for video pinball. Can't really think of any other duds from them.

I agree with the above when it comes to Rennovation. Gaiares is worth adding to the list, I also have Whip Rush which isn't bad and ys III. El Viento was mentioned on the previous page as well.
Grenada is awesome to me. I love rolling around in that little tank.
I love the box art for their games. They were almost working designs before working designs came along and took production value to 11. However, they have some ljn quality shit to avoid like Dino land.
ESWAT is awesome, hush
missed a moving sale boxed copy of Lightening Force for $1 on craigslist! ah well, another guy has a cardboard boxed (presumably no manual) Shining Force 2 for $40...tempting, but i'd really just be buying for the box, which is silly
Is it silly, though? Is it really? ;-)

Cool, thanks all. I don't have a SCD, but if I did (and I'm thinking about it) I would be ALL IN on collecting cheese-dick FMV games. Only concerned with Genesis for now and I just happened to notice that multiple games on my want list are published by them. I'm very interested in Ys III in particular. I just like the idea that it was something of a boutique publisher giving us weird shit from Wolf Team and Telenet.
i finally got around to playing the whole thing in one sitting! If people want to let me know if they completed the game, I'll make a list.
3 edits to make that sentence, god I'm tired.
i remembered the POW you posted =DUse this gif as reference before meeting the final boss, it'll make your life a lot easier. This goes for anyone else in this thread who wants to be Revenge a lot easier, because without it it's way too hard.

Congrats dude, glad you beat it and got the good ending no less!!!i finally got around to playing the whole thing in one sitting!
i played on normal but i cheesed and used unlimited shurikens to hurry through.

thanks!Congrats! Nice work! I doubt I'll be able to beat it, eventually I guess but I get too distracted with other games (Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles now, need that Rondo of Blood unlock! lol
Game Sack made an entire 2 part video on every Renovation published title, here's part 1
Sega Genesis Club Guidelines
The nominated title should be readily available via standard
channels such as eBay, for a reasonable price (Maximum $30,
preferably less to give the majority of people a chance to join
in). The title should be a licensed Genesis/Megadrive title (No hacks,
homebrew, multicarts). Only exception is unlicensed, but readily available titles.
The title should be available in English, and if not, it should at the very least be
playable without knowledge of Japanese.
Due to the nature of the Club, excessively long or grind-heavy
games such as RPGs will be excluded.
Selection Process (see above)
The first week of each month, the selection process for the following
month commences. The first five games suggested that have not
yet been played, and were not nominated the month before will be
added to the list and will be voted on. So be sure to come in early to
nominate your favorites!
On the 7th day of the month, or when we reach five nominations (whichever comes
first) the nominations are tallied in the following manner:
The list of nominees are checked for infringements of the above
guidelines, and any not meeting the requirements are removed.
The voting list will be shuffled for each member voting.
Voting will take place until the 20th day of the month, at which point the poll will
close and the votes will be tallied.
The winner will be announced as soon as the tally is counted so that members
will have time to pick up the winning game.

Gunstar Super Heroes was gonna have an ESWAT boss but it got cut. Game even has a GBA arrangement of the ESWAT boss theme hidden in the code.

Jake, you're killing it with the Genesis Club.
Can't wait to play eSwat, hopefully I'll do better on it than Revenge, which I loved (But only had time to play a few times).
For something a bit different in May, I nominate Flashback: The Quest for Identity. The cutscenes are still spectacular on the Genesis, and it's a cool, cheap game that can be beaten pretty easily.
Great post. Thanks for keeping them coming.
I'm excited for Eswat this month. Just in my preliminary play through I was able to get to level 3 pretty easily. The bosses are a fun challenge, but I'm looking forward to seeing what this suit can do!
I love the layout, nice work!
I picked up a loose cart of ESWAT so I am ready....to not beat it like Revenge? lol
wow! love how you put up all the graphics and charts!
39 people voted last month, that's a lot of Genesis/MD players =)
i'm pretty excited for E-SWAT...

(...you should try to keep aspect ratio when you're dealing with art assets.)
This is one of the best posts Ive ever seen on gaf, looking forward to fail at beating this as i did with Revenge
As for nominations, what about Sub Terrania since its very cheap now?
Gonna 1CC it?Japanese version of ESWAT surprising me with its lack of continues. Kinda neat!
I'll try to no death it like usual, lol. We'll see! I'd like to. The game was kinda dry at the very start but after a few credits it's growing on me.
I'll try to no death it like usual, lol.
It's not that hard, sure it's hard in parts but good use of magic along with finding extra ones, bumping into enemies and stocking on ninja stars make it easier.I have a Sub Terrania on the way, woohoo...and sorry Shinobi was just to damned hard. doesn't mean I won't go back and kick it's ass, just when life allows.
Congrats man.Hey! I did beat Revenge! *cries*

Ok, fair enough.OK I'll rephrase, it was hard...for me. My hands are a bit shit and timing the double jumps just wasn't clicking for me. I'm not gonna give up on it, just need to play when things are working in my favor.
Oh man do I need to finish Alien Storm, hell I barely played it!!!I nominate... Alien Storm.
EDIT: If flashback wins, can the Sega CD version count?
Alien Storm is a really cool nomination!
Guys.
I saw the most badass thing ever today.
Someone was walking with a t-shirt that had a Genesis Model 2 picture and a quote saying "When I was dead broke I couldn't picture this"
I wanted to take a picture but my phone battery was dead.
THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER AND I WANT ONE NOW.
