I remember hearing that there was an Asian release of the Multi-Mega, but I've never seen so much as a photo proving it existed until today.
Just in case Dynamite Headdy wins, I've ordered a repro from this seller http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Dyna...ega-Drive-For-Sega-Genesis/1000001891995.html (should arrive in like one month lol)
She agreed to patch the game with the MIJET translation, which is the only reason I went to get a repro tbh.
I don't expect much, but at the very least I should have a functional cartridge. I could always print my own cover and label if they do a shit job.

This seems like a less-shady way of getting the Japanese version
Not seeing how one bootleg is better than the other.

I tried the X68000 version of Thunder Force 2 and holy shit, this game is brutal.
yeah, those of us with legit copies of the changed-for-the-US version sure do get to look down on these folks, yes sir
The only difference is the country of origin it seems. Both claim to use new parts (eprom, boards and shells). The only gamble I believe I took was on the quality of the prints. But it's $9.90 free shipping vs $29.99 plus shipping.
What are the differences between the japanese and western version of Dynamite Headdy then?
There's quite a lenghty feature on HG101. I don't know if it covers every single change, but it looks like so.What are the differences between the japanese and western version of Dynamite Headdy then?

Loads. One of the magazines did a feature on that.

I'm thinking that Jewel Master, at one point, probably was Altered Beast 2, a game that was mentioned once or twice in Quartermann's EGM column, Gaming Gossip.
That was EGM #18 January 1991. -- Jewel Master released August 1991 in Japan and the west.
Edit: Tell me the Japanese MD boxart for Jewel Master couldn't possibly be, in any way related to a console-only Altered Beast sequel.

^she/herThis was fantastic, as a huge fan of the series. Of course, he is totally right about the spin-offs. Still, i subscribed to him after watching this, i'm excited to dig into his other stuff.
Edit: Also, i will always argue that Eternal Champions deserved better
