One of the best driving franchises of all time yet nearly 18 years have passed since we got a new mainline entry in the series.

Give players the option to set their own track-list. Cruise through the entertainment district to pick up drunk chicks and get extra tips by playing hip-hop music on full volume. Speed by the Pizza Hut™ and Kentucky Fried Chicken™ drive-through windows to grab food and deliver via Uber Eats to lazy people in apartment high-rises, then ramp off the top of the building to save time on traversal.

C'mon SEGA.

Nah, just need a cleaned up version of the original game with the original voices, soundtrack and color palettes.

I was playing the original on Redream the other day, I was way into this game on DC. The boosting mechanic was like crack and I had unreal scores, we used to have the arcade machine at the local mall too.

eh.. game got boring super fast,

It's an arcade game lol

Make it more modern. From time to time you pick up problematic customers and you have to zig zag through the streets to give them a rough time so they'll behave. Make the cabs more 21st century friendly with ejectable seats when a customer takes out a weapon, or a rising piece of glass to isolate the passenger section and flood it with tear gas. Not sure Sega would do this. Might as well give it to Rock* then.

Was fun back in 2000. Now it cant really work with its simple gameplay.
Pretty much what I think. I played it on PSNow recently and the formula just doesn't hold up.

I could see a reboot working as a Dave & Buster's title, but that's about it.

If they wanted to release it as a meaty home console game, it would be competing against games like GTA.

Ah, my all time favourite Sega game. My fondest memories of the Dreamcast too. I had every square inch of both maps licked, spent hours ferrying fares back and forth. It was such a 'Sega' game, blue skies, off beat in nature, hidden depth and so much more. I loved it.

Part 2 was ludicrously underrated too. I wish it and the original would get a remaster. Licensing shouldn't be a problem, just give us the option to add a custom playlist and bobs your aunties bollocks.

Crazy Uber? Make its setting some certain city in Mexico, where you'll run the danger of being dragged out of your cab and get beaten to death by traditional taxi drivers, with the excuse that you're stealing their jobs.

Yet another great Sega IP that's been left behind. PS4 remaster of 1&2 would do me fine, hell, add in some kind of multiplayer. Imagine racing across town for fares against other players.

Crazy Taxi got last-gen ports, and people spent more time complaining about the soundtrack than buying and playing the game. This one is dead for a reason.

What was the most modern release of Crazy Taxi? I want to set it up for a stream and getting the original hardware and an HDMI adapter seems the best way right now. DC for 1 and 2, Xbox for 3.

I think these kind of "arcadey" games tend to hold up much better than their more meaty contemporaries. It's much easier to fire up something like Crazy Taxi for 30 minutes of fun every now and again than it is to start a new Metal Gear Solid or Zelda OoT game.

I would personally like a new international version, riding a auto-rickshaw in Bombay, a tuk-tuk in Bangkok, a black taxi in London etc

Crazy Taxi is one of those games mentioned (like the original Deus Ex or Fallout 2) that makes me feel all nostalgic, and want to fire it (them) up when mentioned. Also, I think this is a pretty good concept!

I Wonder if Sega has a micro Dreamcast in the pipeline.

Thanks for the link diffusionx diffusionx , it looks like the steam version doesn't have the original soundtrack which is an integral part of the game, there's even a guide for reinstating them. Right now, I would go with the GC version for the original, DC for 2 (only option) and the Xbox for 3. Always open to suggestions.
