Please be on the PS3. I've got portable VC that I can play anywhere Sega, now I want a proper console sequel with epic set piece battles again. Make that shit happen!

Yeah, I bet they feel by exaggerating the anime side they'll draw in more sales. I doubt we'll ever see another VC in the stylistic vein of VC1.

Just pop in the VC2 thread and you'll see the platform isn't the only thing they need to fix after 2. It's a start because then you won't have the hardware limitations that led to small maps and the like, but I definitely wouldn't go so far as to say 'all is forgiven'. Nope, they need to take the school setting away, remove the arbitrary credits system and all associated pointless grinding, go back to VC1's variety in missions and setpiece battles, get a better cast of characters and so on before VC3 can be as good as the original.Augemitbutter said:

It would be really neat to play Valkyria Chronicles 3 from the side of the empire as the main fighting force against the Federation. Remember that the events of Valkyria Chronicles is actually a sidebar to the real war going on at the moment.

when you look into the past you will notice that in every generation their best games for the most part were new IPs , even this generation with games like VC on console and Border Break on Aracde .

VC3 on 3DS would be delicious, though.
The problem is that SEGA doesn't allow enough time between sequels to essentially duplicate what fans loved the first time around while tinkering just enough to make it a new game. Nintendo has this figured out. One Mario Kart per generation is all you really need for example.
Sega either allows too much time to pass between games or pumps them out way too fast, thus they never have that mix of what's old is new again helping them out or they end up with something that just feels old.
That's why most of their best games are the first iterations in a franchise.
