Sen no Kiseki III Confirmed to be a PS4 exclusive title

Parakeetman

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
Thank god. Now the series can actually move forward without being held back by older hardware. Pretty bold move there

What are the other platforms for the other 2? I though the trails 3 was announced ages ago.

You're probably thinking of 3rd's localization.

Cold Steel 1 and 2 are on PS3 and Vita, and this (Cold Steel 3) is PS4 exclusive.

FC, SC, and 3rd are all on PC and PSP (and PS3 and Vita in Japan).

Eh....kind of disappointed. First Vita owners aren't getting Trails in the Sky TC, and now we're not getting Trails of Cold Steel 3. Two series that will never be complete on the console. Zero and Azure are obviously never coming here either. Why do these companies have to treat the western customers as second-class citizens?

The original Trails trilogy was PSP, not Vita. Xseed literally can't afford to localize TC on PSP which is why it's not coming to PSP. The amount of people who would buy it on Vita using the PSP compatibility feature is so fucking tiny it isn't worth talking about.

Same goes with Zero and Azure.

The native Vita versions of all those games aren't even by Falcom, they're by Pyramid/Kadokawa so it's a rights nightmare anyway.

I'm not sure what this has to do with western customers. Japan isn't getting this on Vita either.

And it's more than a little unreasonable to expect a company to release a PSP game in 2017. Even SC PSP was only released to as a gesture of good will, not even expected to make any money.

Because the Vita is a dead console? Seriously, it's dead. I own and love !Y Vita, but it is a cold, dead corpse of a platform.

Eh, I can see why they're doing this, but it sucks for me since I don't have any intention of getting a PS4 in the near future.

Guess I'll have to say goodbye to the Trails games until the day they decide to port these games to the PC. Probably never.

Because not enough people are buying it. Simple as that.

Hope Falcom is going to be happy putting in much more effort into the graphics to get half the sales! Whatever!

Anyway, that combat mockup... hmmm....

Order is a new thing right? From the looks of things it's a sort of Formation system. The Order selected in the screen is Valiant Hearts. What's the infinity symbol though? Maybe some Orders last for only limited turns?

Could these new characters be up-and-coming Ironbloods? That would be interesting.

That's definitely a horned-lion emblem on the left shoulder of the boy.

And given the events of CS2 and the uniform color, I think you can drawn your own conclusions.

Yeah, it seems like some buffs/debuffs for whatever your order is, so I guess you'll be able to change that on the fly, and then have some that only last for set turns.

Maybe certain crafts will only work with some orders, or you'll have various combo crafts or arts when a certain order is being used? That would be an interesting application of it.

I wish Xseed wasn't so slow...then we would have probably got more localized Trails games before the Vita died.

There was never a chance of that. The series was dead over here until XSEED managed to convince Falcom to give them a second shot with a PC release. It's doubtful that any other Vita releases could ever have come in a different scenario.

Don't worry, this won't come here in the near future anyway.

I hope they also get this over to Switch. I would never get it there, but this series needs all the sales potential it can get because I need Kiseki titles forever!

Also PC of course.

It's not that they're slow it's that it's just a result of realities of available resources, etc.
Pretty sure they could be faster if under different circumstances.
+ I assume they're not exactly at the point yet where translations of titles are auto greenlit.
Falcom probably always has to consider first how feasible it is to give the go to them.

Also let's not forget the trails games have fantastic localization and I'm the type of person that usually prefers the original.
