I'm just going to say it, that's an awful list of games and sums up this generation.

Astro Bot - Fair enough, probably the best game this generation so far.

God of War Ragnarok - Absolute borefest. Awful story. Far worse than the game before.

FF7 Rebirth - Remake was better. Too many ridiculous minigames. Last few chapters were not good.

Demon Souls - Not judging the quality of the game but a remake of a PS3 game…

Spider-Man 2 - Unfinished, rushed, pathetic story, offers almost nothing new from the first, broken, I could go on but an overall huge mess.

I really hope Death Stranding 2 is not another disappointing PS5 sequel.

Another goty quality game for PS5 this year.

Never going to happen. Unless Geoff finally completely loses it and manipulates the score to give the award to his buddy Kojima.
And I'm not hating, this game might become my goty but with the likes of KCD2 and Expedition 33 being so popular even among the normies this year I'll be very surprised if this game wins the award. I still see a lot of divisive comments about it and 1 on the interwebs.

I really grew to hate the first game, not sure what to do with this

For years Xbox fans called games like Halo, Gears, Forza, etc "exclusive" or "console exclusive".

Now that they put their games on PlayStation, they moved the posts. Games that come out on PC, even years later, are multiplatform games.

I'm in the the larhe segment of players who have zero interest in gaming on PCs. To me, PlayStation and Nintendo still have tons of great exclusives. Xbox literally has none and has no real reason to even exist anymore.

Interesting to see Sony produce three aaa games these past three years and all getting 90+. I know I'm ignoring concord but let's just go with single player for now and they are producing fewer games than ever that still review really well.

The gaming media has abdicated any responsibility to rate games to even last gen accuracy. The scoreflation is absolutely nuts. Now that new AAA games from high pedigree studios come out nearly half as often as before, gaming outlets have every incentive to score higher than they should, lest anger publishers and their developer friends who are bearing more risk with each release.
