SK coming to PC? That's great to hear. I don't think I'll get SV since I own a PS4 now and EV will come out before then most likely. Who knows when EV will make it over?

It'd be even better to have the mainline games on Steam, but Nintendo won't have that. Still good to see this series get more love.

So I finished the Senran Kagura anime. I really enjoyed it. The animation was all over the place but it was just good fun.

Also was weird that I didn't think Katsuragi could get any better but she did. Also Yomi was kick ass and cemented herself as best Hebijo / Crimson Squad to me.

Just a heads up about the community on PS4.
French blogger damonx used a screenshot from "Senran Kagura Estival Versus" (taken with his PS4) as the background image for his personal community group and apparently has been using it since the beta.

A few days ago he received an email stating he violated the PSN agreement due to "inappropriate adult content", even though the screenshot was taken with the PS4 share function and the game has a PEGI 16 rating.
Result: banned for a week

Playstation France tweeted they were looking into it, but it has already been three days now.

I mean I can't blame them there are a ton of idiots who screen cap just straight up porn via the web browser and then post it on the communities. If you're having to moderate a mass of communities that large its easy to see how someone might not have the time to look into where the source of something came from.

No, nor do I believe Nintendo really has any say in it. Not sure how Hadoukie has come to that understanding when a number of 3DS games have already come to PC without Nintendo's interference.

Most likely I think they're bringing over Shinovi Versus over Burst or Deep Crimson because it's just easier to port. The dual screen nature of the 3DS games would probably require a bit of an overhaul to allow a PC version to be developed conveniently.

Maybe this will lead my to own my 4th copy of Shinovi Versus? Wonder what the mods will be like, if there are any besides the obvious nudity that is. Although seeing how many times I've played it, I'll probably only max out Ryōbi and Yomi this time.

She looks awesome, on my top 5 with Katsuragi, Yozakura and Suzune. I hope that Shinovi Versus on PC sells well enough that XSeed ports the 3DS games since those are the only games I care for on 3DS but won't buy it just because of them. As for the Estival Versus I just hope that it includes all of the patches on the disk.

Did EV have different boxart for retail than LE or are you the type that doesn't open your LEs?

Nah, I opened them-- I got all four LE sets used the last time I was in Japan. Was much, much cheaper that way although I ended up having to order from Amazon.jp to get two of them. Senran Kagura 2 LEs were everywhere, in fact- I got mine for 1500 yen!

Just wanted the little figures inside, which fortunately were all unopened.

The boxart on the EV LEs is different, and the spine title notes that it's an LE too.

Also found official wall scrolls (that were likely pre-order bonsues at certain shops) for good prices, too. Almost all of them are of Yumi.

3rd jutsu is unlocked via the final missions of a school, as I recall. & you have to have your health be in the red before you can activate it.

Yin is for going into Frantic Mode.

Censorship in Games

With games like Oneechanbara and Senran Kagura there seem to be this issue where companies like Atlus and NISA are forced to censor their video games for Western audiences. XSEED doesn’t seem to ever be included in this conversation, but it ever in the discussion that you might have to censor a title due to cultural differences.

Yes, all the time. The good and bad thing is are localization team is made up of the vocal audiences online against censorship. Tom Lipschultz is the most vocal of them, he will on his own speak publicly online saying, “Nothing should ever be censored”. Knowing that there’s someone like that on our internal team there is always a very outspoken voice against censorship. We do always try to keep the original creators vision in mind when we localize stuff as long as it can be excepted in the US. The ESRB is probably more lenient then what people think because they’ve been clear to us that it isn’t their job to censor anything it’s their job to just rate the content. So most of the time we present the content as is and they come back with an M rating, which we understand, but if they come back with an AO than we have to have some discussions about what to censor in order to get that to an M rating. Otherwise, none of the platform holders allow an AO product on their platform.

Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus HD actually came to us from Tamsoft saying that they wanted to do an HD port to the PC and we were completely on board."

or watch it raw. I catch the livestream of atx so I see it the second it airs, without censorship

haven't watched the 2nd ep yet since I was waiting for the uncensored ver., once again have to check it out...will probably stick with this show if this ep is good to me.
