Shift Up CEO gifted all his employees Nintendo Switch 2 to celebrate Stellar Blade 3 millions sale

Well deserved. There gift last year for success on ps5 was base ps5 and ps5 pro. It makes sense for switch 2 as a gift since there next project Witches will appear in accross all different platforms.

Why he hates them?

celebrating PC sales with a product from the "enemy"? lol
Could have gifted Steamdecks instead.

That's about 320 Switch 2 units bundled with Mario Kart World. The Mario Kart World bundle is priced at 688,000 won, which means he spent approximately 220 million won for all the Switch 2s, which translates to around 160k USD. Not bad! :messenger_sunglasses:

Got to love a guy who looks out for his people like this, celebrating in all their group successes. Props to him!
I was referencing Switch 2 meme :messenger_grinning_sweat: and yeah he is cool.

I already knew and liked his art for Magna Carta and Blade & Soul back then but with Stellar Blade i'm a fan now.
That previous experiences certainly were important for him to risk and create his own company.

Yeah sure, buying a PS5 a Pro and Switch2 for your employees means you hate them.
Or you meant it as a childish fanboy remark in which case i feel bad for you for being like that, life must be miserable.

What enemies?, they are not a Sony studio this game is not made by Sony they payed for exclusivity.
Gifting a Steamdeck would be horibble, that's like giving a japanese kid an xbox for his birthday.

Lol steamdorks really are the vegans of gaming. Constantly trying to shill that game rental player. It really bent them out of shape with the switch 2 beating it in power that's all they had to cling to during the switch 1 lifespan.

Now we wait to see how PC Gamer or IGN spins this story because they hate how this game was successful because of an attractive woman.

Good CEO is good.

Didn't he gifted ps5 for the whole studio before this?

Dude really like burning money uh? :lollipop_grinning_sweat:
You probably never heard of Nikke

It's estimated to have grossed more than $1 billion in it's first 3 years of service

Dude and his studio have more money than you can possibly imagine. Stellar Blade is just a side project for them

This guy not only treats his staff like Human beings, but he also gave us eve and raven, ultimate waifus ever. I will buy every game from them on the ps console at release. Already double dipped stellar blade.

I'm gonna go on the limb here and trust that this is actual good intent - but I wouldn't take it for granted, especially in Asia.
Most Korean game companies severely underpay their people, with the promise of profit sharing to make up the deficit.
So if they do the same, console gifts wouldn't be all that... compelling. But I want to believe in the positive spin on this one.

It would be in-line with their previous gifts, like PS5 and the PS5 Pro for their employees, after announcement and the success story of the game.

Also, "horrible"? South Korea is the 3RD biggest PC Gaming market in the world, after China and the U.S. It's not even in the same realm of comparison of the current state of Xbox in Japan.

Call me out of touch here, but a $500 console (it's less in Japan) is not the big W for your team you think it is versus, y'know, giving them an actual bonus to their pay that could be significantly higher???

Meanwhile, my friend's boss, who is the manager of Arbys, let him borrow her Series S for the weekend. I think there might be some hanky panky going on.

May I brag that I was one of the first ones to point out on stellar blade's twitter that Sony was region blocking it in 132 countries (Something they weren't even aware of at the time!) that probably played a major part in the high ccu and the sales momentum.

I feel like I'm owed a switch 2 as well :messenger_face_steam:. (jk)

By the way, Lost soul aside, Sony's next published game is still blocked. Not because of any technicalities but probably because Sony, the king of incompetency, hasn't realized it yet.

This is good gesture and good way to promote the company, that doesn't mean they don't have any other bonuses.
I don't think anyone will care News about how much their bonus is.
