I couldn't notice anything special going on during the dips. Traversal stutters?
There are frametime spikes when loading chunk of areas, i.e. Xion's plaza by going up the stairs.

That spike is from going up the stairs. It's 100% reproducible, save the game at the chair near the ship, close the game, load the save and run to the plaza.

Found out they tell you where the pictures are for the picture challenges. Some of them are pretty far away and hard to get in screen for the shot. Finally got all the cats in Zion.

Also gave this a try on my Steam Deck. It looks and plays better than I thought it would. Such a great PC/Steam port.

How did you set that up? I tried using Virtual Desktop with the Quest 3, opening Stellar Blade, injecting UEVR with OpenXR and it crashes almost immediately.

EDIT: And I've already disabled DLSS and Frame Gen as suggested by UEVR.
I'm using SteamVR + PSVR2 so I can't really help with your hardware, but the Flat2VR Discord has a bunch of FAQs and troubleshooting tips that hopefully help you out.
Generally the best place to go for Flat2VR gaming

Game is really stunning when you can run it maxed out at a super high res.

A few of my 6K DLDSR + DLAA, max settings shots:

And then you couple it with an OLED TV . The image quality is through the roof . Looking at those background with the highlights and depth its as if looking outside the window .

Over 15 minutes I logged 5 dips, one was from going into the menu, dipped to 31, the others where random when sprinting around in Xion, lowest 55, the rest 58.

Sounds similar to the drops I noticed. Obviously not as bad as in my case, but your hardware is also better. So no surprise there :D Was Reflex enabled?

I also saw dips when rotating the camera at once after fast traveling to Xion. Went away in a couple seconds. SSD related perhaps?

I am using a 990 PRO. So while I do not want to rule out the SSD I do not think it is caused by it.

Yea, me neither. I saw some people on Steam Forum also saying that turning off Reflex made the situation better. What ist even more interesting: Some think it is related to the Playstation Overlay. They said that they noticed and improvement by logging out of PS Network. Afterall this could also explain why this issue has not appeared during the Demo. Will continue testing this evening.

Yeah I had Reflex set to On, not Boost. Off sounds bad, don't you get lots of latency then? The game needs tight input to do the parry/dodge/blink etc right. Can do skill upgrades to make it easier but personally I think I would rather have rare stutter than latency for this game.

Finished up my first PC playthrough. Honestly I think I liked it more during this replay, probably because I knew how to play the game better and how to deal with specific annoying enemies. Also VR EVE helped, I'm sure...

But yeah I'm currently doing the new Mann fight and having a blast. Both the Scarlet and Mann fights are Sekiro tier... love it.

It's about a 15 hour romp. Probably 25-30 if you do all the side quests. NG+ is great because you unlock more advanced versions of your abilities, there are more outfits to to unlock, you can further your attack, hp and Beta energy as well.

Not more than with a GPU that does not support Reflex :D

Todays testing did confirm my feeling that Reflex does indeed have an impact on these stutters. Reflex + Boost was worse than just Reflex On. Have not had the time to test the impact of the PS Overlay.

Man, I'm still amazed that they gave the best costume away at the beginning of the game, with the PC version.

The 'survive the falling train' scene with this outfit was something else.

Getting into the meat of this game makes me really want an expanded sequel. There's a really solid base that they have, that they can build off of.

I really need to stop leaning on the warp strike as a crutch. I know I'm overusing it, but it's so damn effective. The parry is kinda finnicky, so I've been mainly sticking to dodges/dodge counters and the repulse stuff. I can tell they want you to use Parry more often because of the flashing red prompts, but I always end up eating a ton of damage when I try. Ironically, I find it easier to parry boss chain attacks than just regular ass enemies, because it's hard to see the tells for their attack patterns on the medium/little guys.

One thing I do appreciate is the general lack of i-frames. Too many games rely on that as a defensive mechanic which just promotes dodge spam. In SB you still have to manage distance and enemies home in on you and close the distance very fast if you're constantly back dodging.

Interesting. I barely use the dodge unless it's forced. It feels finnicky to me :messenger_face_steam:
Do you try to parry the whole chain, or do you block and then parry the last hit for the follow-ups? I've been trying to parry the whole chain, and it seems super inconsistent.

Parry the whole chain. Or try to at least. Sometimes I get hit or wind up blocking but most of the time I'm on point enough to deplete the stamina dots (or whatever it's called).

Anyone experiencing a lot of crashes on PC? I've probably had about 5 so far and I am BARELY in the 1st area, not the tutorial one.

Running a 4090 with a 7800X3D and 64GB of DDR5 RAM also.

Zero crashes or bugs. Still runs amazingly well and looks awesome. If you are having issues, try to check out the crash report and see what is going on.

I've had one, after going through the first pass coded door in the junkyard after the first train ride. Saw a campsite, then crash. Had to replay that segment. Reported the info to the devs but haven't noticed any patches downloaded. No crashes after that.

I had a lot the last couple days, but today I changed the setting suggested in this post by Z Zavan and I haven't had a crash afterwards. Also Nvidia released a new driver today, so probably worth doing that too if you have one of their cards.

Are there also more (cosmetic) weapons in this game? Have yet to get started, will probably get to it in the weekend now that I'm close to the end of Expedition 33.

Don't believe so. you can get skins for the Drone (which doubles as your gun), but the sword is static.

Got it. Changed it to 10GB last night, Nvidia driver got updated, verified file integrity and moved the installation files to another drive. No issues yet when I played late last night.

2 crashes. One with Fatal Error. The 2nd led to a BSOD - DPC Watchdog Violation. I think it's an issue with the Nvidia Driver. Doing an clean reinstall of it. This is the 10th I've had so far. FML.

Reached the new open area... Which is another brown map. I was expecting something different after the Wasteland, not gonna lie. At least it seems to be much smaller than the Wasteland.

Yea, they should have done a jungle or frostland or even another cityscape (with different lighting). 2 big open deserts is kinda a bit much. Probably relatively cheap to make compared to locations with lots of foliage though.

At least the second one is much better. They should take note for the sequel.

Also, not a fan of the fast travel through the spaceship. They should try something like in Expedition 33 if the game structure is with independent areas interconnected.

No crashes so far, up to the Sewers. I had the PS5 version crash a couple times for me over about 70 hours of play.

Okay. I'm done. Still getting crashes. Until they can address this, I'll just not play it. This sucks.
I hope the sequel at least has autosave, even if it's just a single slot that gets overwritten every so often. Before I fixed my own crash issues, I lost quite a bit of progress a few times. Like maybe every time you pick up equipment/an important item. That would even be better than what we currently have.

I wonder if when Lily upgraded the Drone to be a gun, Adam was just sitting there monitoring Eve through the Drone, and the first time she started shooting it he had to rip the headphones off because his eardrums almost got blown out. Probably heard a ringing noise for days.

PC version sold 1 million in 3 days
So PS sales should be 2 million.

The sales figures for Stellar Blade's PC version, which launched on June 12, have been revealed.

On the 16th, Shift Up officially announced that their post-apocalyptic open-world action-adventure game Stellar Blade has surpassed 3 million units sold across all platforms. This milestone was achieved 1 year and 2 months after the PS5 version was released in April of last year.

Notably, the PC version sold 1 million copies within just 3 days of its Steam launch. This confirms that, as expected, the cumulative sales for the PS5 version amount to approximately 2 million units.

For reference, the PC version reached a peak concurrent player count of 192,078 this past weekend. While it narrowly missed the 200,000 mark, surpassing 190,000 still makes it the highest concurrent player count for a single-player PS5 port released on Steam by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).

Bre......Sony portimg everything going forward/

Remember that you can increase your parry window both by equiping gear and upgrading EVE survival skills. Best way to parry is to press and hold the parry button so EVE use the sword to block, then when the enemy attacks, quickly release the button and press it again, if you time it right you parry, if you time it wrong you still block the attack.

And yes, normal enemies are a bit harder to parry because they are smaller and its harder to read they attacks, so it feels easier to parry bosses. I ended up mixing it up, for certain enemies i would go for dodge counters and for others would go for parries.

The Royal Guard outfit you get from beating Mann really augments EVE's tracts of land

4vrBmOQ.jpeg

They're even bigger than the actual Royal Guards.

If there's one negative I have with the outfits, is that some outfits outright change her proportions. Her ass/tits get biggest depending on the outfit. I guess to some that's a pro rather than a con.
