Zero crashes here after 4 hours . Man this game is freakin awesome , I'm mostly parrying most of the time . How are we PC peeps had to wait 1 year for this T_T

If someone think Stellar Blade combat isn't good , show them this and ask them to gitgud (courtesy of Ongbal my parry idol) This fight reminds me of Vergil DMD x Isshin

This game looks cool as fuck.
Thanks for the vide...will double dip...hopefully will play it this time!

Game is really stunning when you can run it maxed out at a super high res.

A few of my 6K DLDSR + DLAA, max settings shots:

Im liking it for the most part, but the movement in traversal and combat can be so fucking annoying. Fighting multiple enemies is a joke when your character continues to attack the newly dead enemy. Running makes her get stuck in doors and scenery and when you stop pressing forward, she still has a few steps of momentum that makes some of the platforming irritating when there is no need for it.

Also can't stand the invisible walls when certain combat scenarios start and you have no indication it's there, so you think you are just stuck on the environment and can't roll or dodge to safety.

Story wise I really don't care, its typical of its type, characters too. Did meet that wee mechanic girl and wanted to let brain eating insects into my ears.

Graphically it can look very nice, great HDR, deep blacks, strong colours. Also runs pretty flawlessly which is always nice for a PlayStation port.

Gave UEVR a shot so I could ogle Eve admire the detailed world for a bit. Praise be to fans and their work.

Regarding the Nikke costumes, I'm so irritated that Neon gets ignored. Again.

No, I'm still working through Matrix 11. Just beat the next to last boss there so not too much further. Though considering it's a fishing reward I'll just...sigh.
Not a fan of fishing, I take it? I actually love it in this game. It's simple yet challenging at times, though I've been trained in the fires of Metal Gear Solid so I know how to mash a button like my life depends on it. Thanks Kojima

I'm hoping Shift Up has another Summer update for us this year with more swimsuits to work towards... and give me another excuse to fish more.

No, I like the fishing minigame. I meant that the reward sounds like an accessory or a useless inventory only item and not her swimsuit outfit.

And yeah, I'm greedy so I'll happily take another update for more swimsuits.

With so many cool nikkes, they had to choose Alice. Is she really that popular?

I guess they are saving Cinderella or Red Hood for later on.
She's pretty strong when built and she's given to new players along with a permanently available event to encourage building her. Best I can guess is they went with her because of that and the fact that she has a quick and easy design. I find her personality fairly off-putting though.

The other characters they used all made sense. Doro is a huge meme so Dorothy is a no brainer. Scarlet is the collab character and fits well with the game formula. Rapi and Anis are core team members in the story (along with Neon...) and Modernia is a central plot point for the game. Kinda doubt they'll bring any others over unless there's another collab event (maybe a rerun).

you may or may not love her youtube videos but that is not important but the most important is the mod she is using

Have you seen Alice's outfit on EVE? It's pretty clear to me why they chose her...

Edit: Adding photo reference taken by yours truly

It somehow looks tighter than skin-tight. Change the color and you'd basically have another skin suit.

the combat in this is better than in Nier Automata.

there, I said it.
Automata is primarily a Bullet Hell Shooter with light Hack and Slash elements whereas in a lot of ways Stellar Blade plays like a fighting game with combo strings, perfect dodge/parry and having both Ex attacks, Super Moves and more with light Ranged attack element.
As others have said it's not a high bar to surpass.

Of course 2B has the Megaman Dash and that just can't be beat. So smooth.

Yeah I dunno why. Alice got this weird child with adult features kinda look going on in Nikke and it's kinda gross. Very lame choice, at least the rest seem good.

Yes, especially among girls and cosplayers. Outside of Rapi, shes was probably the most cosplayed Nikke. A RedHood nanosuit would look sick. Shes my favorite Nikke.

Here's the answer I didn't know. I supposed it was a girly thing.

I feel the same about her. Her personality doesn't help either.

On my 5080 the final game also runs noticeably worse compared to the Demo, even in the same areas.

Playing maxed on 4K UHD with DLLA. Demo gave me constant 90-140 FPS with these settings and no noticeable stuttering at all. Final game is running around 80 - 100 FPS all the time, but unfortunately with a constant stutter fest with dips below 20 FPS. Which basically is unplayable. Switching AA from DLAA to Quality luckily eliminates most of the noticeable stuttering while FPS also get a nice boost to 100 - 150 FPS. Which is quite a huge jump. However, of course the impact in terms of picture quality is of course also visible. But the stuttering is more annoying than a softer picture. VRAM, RAM etc. are not an issue. I am pretty sure that it has something to do with shader compilation.

Hope Shift Up can do something, but since UE4 is well known for stuttering I do not expect much. However, seeing the Demo makes me wonder what is causing this massive drop in performance. Sure, later areas in the game are much bigger. But even the Demo area in the final game is suffering from the same problem.
What CPU do you have? 80-100 standard and drops to 20 sounds like the infamous 1% lows people talk about when new CPUs arrive.

For me it runs bizarrely well, I've literally seen framerates up over 300, I cap to 120 to hush the graphics card. But I only play in 1440p.

Ryzen 5800X3D. It is really strange considering that these extreme drops do not happen once AA is set to Quality instead of DLAA.

I will try to mess around with some UEFI settings this afternoon.

That's not strange at all, when you apply DLSS, even with Quality, your internal resolution is lower. DLAA stay doing it's thing at your native resolution.
Tbh I think it's your slightly aging CPU that can't keep up feeding your shiny new graphics card with the frames it needs at 4K resolution.

I beat Mann and Scarlet last night. I had a tough time with Scarlet, she's got some moves that can be hard to read and parry/dodge. Mann probably overtakes Raven as the best boss fight in the game.

How did you set that up? I tried using Virtual Desktop with the Quest 3, opening Stellar Blade, injecting UEVR with OpenXR and it crashes almost immediately.

EDIT: And I've already disabled DLSS and Frame Gen as suggested by UEVR.

Yes, I know that DLSS Quality is using a lower resolution. But considering that the average frame rate with DLAA is fine most of the time makes me think that the issue is somewhere else.

Nah, the 5800X3D is still fine. Especially at this resolution and without RT :)

There are dozens of reports on the WWW that describe the same problem. It happens with 7800X3D/9800X3D as well.

Not at my pc to look at the names but the default injector wouldn't work for me, had to change to the other one. I was also using quest 3 but just the standard quest link to connect to pc.

I wonder if that's the issue I'm having. I got a i7-10300k paired with a RTX 3080 10gb. My rig is 4.5 years old. Lately I've just been noticing I'm just not getting the FPS I used to get, even with older games like RE4R.

Hmm yeah just a hunch it's tricky when it's rare. The warning signs are there though, the 1% low dips are rare, most of the time it'll be fine like you say.

How is it if you cap at 60fps with vsync on? Can you notice any dips if you slowly rotate the camera?

Average FPS always stay at 60 FPS. 1 % lows still goes down.

Yes, even when just standing and no character movement I notice these drops from time to time (e g. Plaza area in Eidos 7).
Can you see the fps drop on a counter or is it so fast that you just notice the stutter itself?

What's your screen refresh?
I believe there is some oddity with gsync that can cause hitches when you're above the screen refresh. Could try capping below to have some headroom.

Only on the 1 % Low counter. The normal FPS counter does not show these hitches.

What's your screen refresh?

240 Hz, capped to 237 Hz in NVIDIA control panel.

I tried to mess around with the C-State setting in the UEFI. Could not really notice a big improvement. "Performance mods" made it even worse :D

Currently messing around with some other ingame settings like Reflex to see if they have an impact.

Edit: Looks like turning off Reflex does indeed have an impact on the drops. Just did a few runs through Xion and have not noticed any drops in 1 % lows that went below 55-60 FPS. Average FPS remained around the same. Need to do more checking tomorrow.

Okay you're clearly doing more here than I thought, I'll stop asking stupid questions lol

I could try installing it on my other PC hooked up to a TV without vrr just to see if I can spot anything.

Yea, feel free to do so. Xion is a really good part for testing. Especially the smaller part. I also just edited my other post mentioning that Reflex might have to do something. But I need to verify it tomorrow. Also in other areas.

I hope DF will do a test.

I've tried it on the TV PC now (7800x3D, 4090, 4K res).

Might be pointless with different hardware. But while there was no dips to 20 I saw something.

Over 15 minutes I logged 5 dips, one was from going into the menu, dipped to 31, the others where random when sprinting around in Xion, lowest 55, the rest 58.

I couldn't notice anything special going on during the dips. Traversal stutters?

I also saw dips when rotating the camera at once after fast traveling to Xion. Went away in a couple seconds. SSD related perhaps?
