Well, I can't technically post a picture due to concerns regarding Basic Training (pictures of our place are not permitted to be posted on the internet without express permission from the Lt. Col in charge of the school, and I have absolutely no intention of requesting such) so instead I will just describe my setup:
On a desk about 3 feet wide and 18 inches deep, I have an Alienware m15x laptop on the left side and forward, with a Philips 19" 720p LCD TV in against the back of the desk on the right side. There is an iPhone tethered to the laptop to enable internet access. On a 9 inch deep shelf above the desk, I have my Xbox 360 placed sideways so the hard drive is facing me, as that is the only way to get the power cables plugged in without the 360 falling off the shelf. There is an ethernet cable running from the laptop to the 360 to create a network bridge off the iPhone tether, enabling access to Xbox live. I also have a PSP Go kicking around in my laptop bag, though it has not had a single second of use since arriving at Basic. Surprisingly, online gaming is extremely playable running off the phone for internet. I can easily get 3 bars fairly consistently in CoD: Black Ops on 360, and I assume other games would be similar, though I haven't bothered to try yet. PC side, in TF2 and CoD4 I can easily find servers ranging from 50-200 ping and have things flow extremely smoothly, when I was expecting a hefty dose of lag, so I am quite happy with the results. I kind of miss having a surround sound system, but I wouldn't really have anywhere to put it anyway so I'm not too worried.
The desk is an absolute mess of cabling and wires hanging every which way since I have to disassemble the whole thing at the end of each weekend and lock it up in a closet until the next Friday, so hiding cords is not exactly a primary concern. Its ugly, its cluttered, and the TV is not exactly the best piece on the market (I just bought the largest one I could find that would still fit in my backpack with the 360), but man is it ever a sweet setup for a guy running through basic. The rest of my platoon thinks I'm crazy (can't say they're wrong), but when free time comes up on weekends I am damn well going to enjoy it. Kind of wish I had brought my PS3 with me as well, but I think I'm pretty damn lucky as it is to get so much leeway from my staff in the first place. Most other officer platoons will get their cell phones and that's it for the duration of their training, while the recruits lose everything until their 3 months or so are finished.
