Not shown: Behind where the shot comes from is one of those blocky Ikea shelves, which sports a lot of gaming merchandise/cases. Near the entrance (the second computer desk which is not pictured) is a bookcase mixed with games, and well, books. And of course in the bedroom is a smaller 24" LCD with a second black Wii hooked up to it.

Nice looking gaf mate but were are your speakers or am I blind?

I like the layout and look of this. Here are some quick recommendations:

- Paint the wood chest black or getting a different chest. It looks very out of place.
- Think about mounting the TV on the wall, it would look really good.
- May want to think about getting that scroll instead framed. I think that would look better but that's just personal.

I really, really hope that "box hanging off the arm of the couch" configuration is very temporary.

lol, yes, still figuring out how I will conect all ;)

One more picture from Uncharted 3 trailer.

The picture is 104 inches diagonal :)

Darkening the room's walls (and even ceiling) can make such a massive difference to the image quality, the contrast will improve dramatically.

There's a thread here, some of it is ott with black velvet lined rooms but the advice is often good, worth skimming through at least if you want to get the best from the projector: http://www.avforums.com/forums/projectors/907414-maximising-image-contrast.html

What is boils down to is the darker walls absorb more of the light being reflected off the screen - this light can rob the image of contrast by raising the black level.

Nice idea. Its something to consider :)

Doesn't having a table infront of your viewing annoy you? You should put the dining table behind you and move up the couch. I'll be interested in seeing the setup once it's done.

No, siting in the couch the viewing angle is above the table :)

Heres a video I have made from the couch:

If I would swith I would sit too close to the screen :)

I have been thinking, and I think I will use the Ikea STOLMEN to put the projector and other media stuff...link IKEA

Still thinking about the cables...

Here is my simple bedroom setup.

PuFEsl.jpg

Sony 40" EX503 LCD TV
Yamaha RX-V667 AVR
HTPC (E5200@3.00Ghz, Sapphire HD6850, 4GB OCZ RAM, 500GB HDD)
Cambridge Audio Azur 640C CD Player
Art Stiletto Front Speakers
Monitor Audio BX1 Rear Speakers
Sony BDP-S370 Blu-Ray Player
BK XLS200 MK2 Sub
PS3
Virgin Media HD PVR

As the front speakers are so close together, I felt no need for a centre speaker ATM. Sounds awesome.

Now to sort out the cables............

iPhone 4 pic (is the shitty i in iPhone supposed to stay non cap even at the start of a sentence?). And yes, I know my speaker arrangement is equally crappy, but with laziness, cable resentment and needing a clear path to the TV's remote IR in mind, I keep it this way.

unfinished 2.39 constant image height setup, I still have the borders and side masking to do.

And the painting....and get the speakers up.

Movies are just fucking awesome on it though.

I had thought about it but this room is tiny (9' square) the screen is grey and the walls/ceiling are a dark matt, had I gone with a white screen I probably would have but they grey dosen't reflect no where near as much light onto the sides.

I'm going to fit a curtain rail and valance above the screen, that *should* catch the light and stop it glowing.

Mainly from Ikea and a few from the Range. I got some really nice black gloss box frames from BHS before they discontinued them half price, wish i could've got a couple more as i've still got a bunch more to frame.

Thanks, I'll see if I can pick some up next week.

Hey drugstore_cowboy, what projector are you currently running?

HC3800, I've had it about 12 months now.

I love the 2.39 aspect ratio but for gaming it is limited to PC, had a bash on F1 2010 earlier in the week, the extra width more than makes up for the lower vertical resolution

Looks amazing, man.

MADMAN! Where'd you get the 1st inception and walking dead posters?

Might as well post my setup before I move on Friday. You'll have to excuse the generally scruffy nature of everything, there's really no point in cleaning up since I'll be packing in an hour or so.

At last... :)

Is that the Optima HD20? My friend just bought one. Who's the picture quality and how big is your screen?

Got a picture of my setup:

Naaaah j/k. That's my shit from about 4 years ago. I just happened to find that picture and was like "man, I had horrible design sense."

Real reason for this post:

GAF, I'm looking for a computer desk. I'd like something classy looking... something with a glass top (preferably dark glass) would be ideal... don't care if the frame is steel or wood or whatever. Well... plastic would be bad.

So where should I look!?
