The gaming setup threads are my favourite and I've been following them for years. They also inspired me to upgrade my stuff little by little. Now that my account has been approved, I am really excited to be able to post in this thread. :D

I'm a student at the moment so here is my room, hopefully I'll be able to post photos of my own apartment in a few months. :)

Really nice pics, buttons... Very clean and attractive, I can't believe that is student living quarters in whatever country you're from! Only thing nicer than your room is your taste in games :)

Exactly. You have such a nice place. I'm from a well-off family, and my room is just a block of square....Man, I can't wait to graduate and make some real cash, so I can develop my own little gaming room. One of these days...

Edit: I also love reading through this thread. It has motivated me to save up my money I make from my side job, so I can better up on my electronics.

I live in Germany at the moment. And thank you, I just love my JRPGs, although I still need to finish them all. xD

The motivation from this thread really does help. When i started reading these threads I did not have most of my nice things. My first major purchase was my TV and PS3 and from there on I upgraded my furniture piece by piece when I was able to. I just looked through all the old setup threads and saved pictures of the ones I liked. I really got some good ideas from those. Then I'd go and see which style of furniture I wanted and started getting them bit by bit. ^_^

What is this stand and where did you buy it? Anywhere online?

It's the official stand that came with the first batch PSP-1000s in Europe. I've tried to find something similar for my other PSP but sadly I've been unable to find any on sale, even on ebay.

So I just ordered a brand new Samsung LCD 46" TV and I have no clue if I should use the stand I am using currently (have a 32" on it, but don't know what it was made for) or buy a new one just to be sure it will not collapse on me or anything.

I had a massive TV on it before. An old CRT 27" that weighed in at least 75lbs. So it seems to hold a lot of weight. I just don't want to try anything that will kill my TV.

Also, anyone have any good (cheaper) stand suggestions for a 46" LCD TV?

If it held a big ass crt it should hold your lcd, what i would do is measure the base. You dont want the base of the lcd hanging off the edge or anything like that but i wouldnt worry about weight issues.

Yeah, I guess I was being overly paranoid. Never really had a super nice TV before. Although, some might not think it's all that nice, I think it looks amazing. Best I had was my 32" LCD samsung 720p.

haha. Thanks tho

Hey guys, I've got a request. Right now, I'm in my second year of college, and working a part-time job with... not an insane amount of hours. Let's say around 16-20 hours a week. Any suggestions for a decent, cheap chair? Not for the computer but for sitting on while I play games in my room. Some kind of recliner or something.

Right now I'm relying on a couch that's literally older than I am which basically consists of a wooden frame and thrown on cushions. I'm trying to save a little room and make myself a little more comfortable. So something around the $200 range would be ideal.

Hard to say what you should get without knowing what the room looks like, but in general, people seem to be fans of Ikea's Besta series.

I like Ikea, but they are too far from me. And shipping (on what little items they do ship) it freaking outrageous! I may just throw a new thread up in the off topic discussion and ask what everyones favorite stands are.

Cool setup man, and thx for posting the details. I'm thinking about getting that couch, but 1599$ seems a bit steep. impressions?

Ahhh, sucks. I forget that not everyone's fortunate enough to be near an Ikea. Well anyway, posting up a pic of your room as it is now would make it way easier to recommend stuff. As someone who's scoured this thread for a long while, I can basically guarantee you that somebody here will find the right solution.

This is what it looks like. This is when I had a 42" on it. So only a bit bigger. This was my roommates TV but he took that away. My setup is a bit different now. It's against the left wall (flat against it). My DVDs and Games are in my gaming room now.

Well, I graduated college on the 13th, and am in the process of looking for "real" work to jumpstart my career. So, for the time being, I'm living in my old bedroom. A large portion of my stuff is in the basement in storage, unfortunately. Hopefully, though, I'll get my career going soon, and I'll be able to get my own apartment.

Nice monitor screen man. How much did that cost and can you please tell me the model number? :)

Top-Bottom, Left-Right.

1. PS3 (Blu-Ray, DVD films and PS3, PSONE games player) So wish I had a backwards compatable machine to also play PS2 on here.

2. PS3/X360 extra controllers for when family come round.

3. Xbox360 Slim

4. O2 Router

5. Nintendo Wii (GameCube, Wii games player)

6. NGC controller, PS2 wired controller.

7. UK Slim PS2 sat on top of modded UK fat PS2 (which I think has finally died, hence why the slim is in use)

pict1944s8g9.jpg

Aside from my actual shelves I thought people might like to see some of my gaming area. You can just see the arm of my white couch in the corner of the picture. I have my TV remote set out, alongside the controllers for each game system and the games I'm currently playing for each machine. They are: PS3 - Mortal Kombat 2011, Wii - Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicals, X360 - BulletStorm. Oh yeah! Johnny Bravo is being streamed from my PC via my PS3, baybee.

I'll ask the important question here.

What mystical, enchanted world do you live in where Johnny Bravo is on the air?

LOL, JB is streaming via my PS3 from my PC. I downloaded all the episodes I could find of it. Still an awesome cartoon even to this day, in my opinion.

Sorry the pictures are so big, I don't know how to reduce them.

Seeing all these bulky setups with stacks and stacks of games, makes me really relieved to have gotten rid of 99% of my physical collection.

Posted this in the pickup thread, but it belongs here too I guess. My new desk setup for my PC gaming.

Working on the console gaming section of the man cave. Should have it cleaned up and running soon.

Here's a Duct Tape Computer I just built:

It's my first one, already have plans drawn up for a vertical tower, hopefully can implement it within the month.

My room. :)

My game shelf and the view of my balcony.

TV-stand and desk.

My desk and PC. Love it. :)

PS3, DSiXL and PSP-1000. White PSP-3000 and DSLite.

PS2 and PSP games.

DS and Gamecube/Wii games.

PSOne games and my PS2Slim (with a mod-chip so I can play NTSC games as well)

Wii and my FFXI and FFXIV corner.
First of all, welcome! Also, I find your room lovely! I like how clean it looks, and it's great you manage to fit all in a single room. If you don't mind me asking, what's the "room" next to your bed, behind the curtain? I'm intrigued, I'm wondering that's your wardrobe? Thanks for answering!

Thank you. ^_^ The little room behind the bed is a walk-in closet. :)

Is this the Samsung with the rose bezel? If so, we're monitor bros. Absolutely love the red tint on the thing.
It's the SyncMaster P2450 and yeah it has a slight red tint at the bottom. Really love this monitor. :)

Yea, same monitor. If you look closely though and you get some light shining on it, the entire bezel is a rose tint not just the bottom. It's awesome.

Thanks! I got it barely used off of Craigslist for $900 :P Otherwise I would have maybe gone for the Stella sofa. It's really comfy though, and it'll last you a long time.

Hey, if you start noticing weird shadow performance in games like Red Dead Redemption and Demon's Souls...and happen to figure out how to fix it...do let me know, please! Strangest issue with that TV. When I'm indoors in RDR, the shadows at the ceiling seem to lag behind or something. Same with Demon's Souls (and DS is a dark, dark, shadowy game to begin with). I've already tried running game mode and all, but still have the problem. Sadface.

Other than that one issue, though, I love that TV. Colors pop like crazy. It's got far better whites/blacks than I expected, and a little bit of contrast goes a long way.

Sorry for the derail.

My modest basement lair. It's still a new'ish house (well, to us) so forgive the lack of, uh, flair.

I love this couch. Adjustable headrests. :)

Not enough room for Kinect. The ceiling's too low. Heh.

i think stacks of games give a room more personality than a square room with blank white walls and an iphone on a desk and nothing else.

Not at all. I recognise the name from B3D! It's just that I dip in and out of the thread.

Like the set-up BTW.

Awesome setup man, I really like it. We are TV brethren, I also have a 50" G25. I absolutely love it for gaming.

Thank you so much.

Yes, that is one deadly television. The stand I have it on is technically too small for it but I liked how visually compact the whole thing looked. Plus it's the perfect size for that viewing distance.

If you are so inclined, PM me your gaming settings, I'd be curious to compare.
