Shuhei Yoshida mentions Sony likes Nintendo doing well because they hope Nintendo fans might "graduate to more mature systems" like PlayStation

I could have supported 100% Mr Yoshida statement if only Sony did not made a blunder on focusing gaas and liveservice which also wasted allot of talent and time, and much fewer PS single player exclusives compared to previous PS era.

I believe that's what they call a back handed compliment.

I tell you what's mature...not assuming games are just meant for children because they have cute characters and a pallette that contains primary colours.

all the smug people in this thread going on about "hue hue, age, dumb statement" have not understood that this is not about the age of the player but the type of content....

and yet there's more censorship in playstation… "for adults" yeah right
Well Nintendo is now engaging in censorship of games too since Death end re;Quest: Code Z and the Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1-3 western releases were cancelled because the games breached Nintendo's new guidelines and the devs refused to censor the games to fit the new rules.

Which is funny considering Death end re;Quest: Code Z released on PS5 with no censorship.

Maybe this was true to a certain extent with the GameCube to PS2 because lack of games, or Wii U to PS4 but I don't think many graduate from Pokémon to ripping off people's heads in God War. How many people who really loved the Wii moved over to PS3? DS to PSP? Never happened. I think people would rather just have these kinds of games on their Switch or Switch 2 now rather than buying a Playstation.

They can graduate from Nintendo to play more mature games like Doom, Cyberpunk or Saint's Row?
Do that man live in a bubble?

I doubt Shu talking about die-hard Nintendo fans. But, judging by WiiU, there are only like 15mil of them.
The vast majority of others migrate just fine if see value, like the most of Wii crowd did

PC is for young with lot of free time and passion (to fight hardware and software problems). Troubleshooting is not particularly pleasured time spent, especially when you are limited in free time.

Switch is for kids and families with kids. Like most popular Nintendo franchises designed with kids in mind and have gameplay, story etc adapted first and foremost for children level.
And this chart mean nothing, as if 10 years old will reply on survey
Young with lots of free time he says...
44 years old, 2 kids and a wife, 1 kid plays soccer which costs me my free weekend most of the time, which because I work morning, evening and night shifts including the weekends not counting extra working days 2 to 3 times a month at least, I don't have many.
My 10 year old has a Switch which he never uses. He was always on my PS5 which i gave to him because i didn't use it since i got my pc.

Ignorance rules the dumb.

Forgot to add add i workout 3 to 4 times a week and have time the do the wife. Besides getting more game time than many around me.

Personal anecdotical evidence prove nothing.

You don't treasure your free time, I do. I have gaming level PC with 7900xtx but I loathe any serious gaming on it beside some smaller one like gacha as it's always some issues here and there. I don't want to troubleshoot, traverse internet in search of solutions etc. I left IT 20 years ago and never looked back.
And I can troubleshoot (just don't want), a lot of people can't. I have quite some friends who are non-hardcore, semi-casual gamers and who never were involved with IT - their skills with PC are those of housewife, and they for sure will not spend huge amount of time to gitgud with PC gaming woes.

And proceds to talk about his friends...
Okay buddy.

You probably just don't know how to setup a PC properly. Good thing you left IT. I seldom have a issue and its my first pc build. But whatever. I had some free time on my hands an decided to wasted it on some idiotic comment because I could. Not because I thought it would lead to something meaningful.

Yeah, you haven't got a clue from references. Not that I expected different from PC fans.

I clearly just too stupid for PC /s
PC is plagued with low quality ports, engine problems, compatibility issues etc. But bright-eyed PC guys just decided to "not see" problems because they are "PCMR"
It takes quite some efforts to build, setup and maintain PC clean (especially if it's not for gaming only). And those efforts essentially wasted time.
