Silksong is So Popular, Even People in the Piracy Subreddit are Encouraging Others to Just Buy It: 'If We Can Afford to Support Them, We Should'

this drama is similar to BG3. Devs scared at competition... no wonder why a lot of them are on bluesky.

Cowards. They sound exactly like the mafia at voice actors union that you pay them certain amount to be "fair".

What's next? Demand Valve to stop selling indie games below their ideal price?

There are MANY games that don't even a tiny fraction of these numbers and are high quality, reviewed very well, and don't have shady practices. I don't think there is any correlation.
You are correct when you're talking about games that exist in a marketing vacuum.

When an anticipated game with a significant amount of attention is receive, actions like this is the difference between an Ubisoft game and Clare: O33.

Pirates always tell you "to support the devs if you like the game". Its written in every nfo since piracy exists. Nothing new here.

Yep, and nobody does it. Nothing new there either.

Would people be happy with aaa games not existing anymore?

No they wouldn't lmao. You only need to look at this forum at every State of Play during segments where no AAA game is being shown.

That said, i wonder if AAA games suddenly came out at like 40 bucks...wouldn't they have a lot more sales and possibly go viral, allowing them to compensate the 50% price decrease from the usual 80 bucks? Is this an idea that no CEO could think of? Would stocks really go down that much if long term they would make as much or more money? The games wouldn't have as many price decreases of course.

I know the times are different but one thing that allowed the PSOne to be as big as it was was literally the prices of their games. We are reaching a point where game prices can't keep increasing...something has got to give...
