Skyrim updated with new paid mods, marketplace and modding capabilities

Your friendly reminder that we are further away from the Skyrim launch than Skyrim was from Sonic Adventure. Just thought you would like to be reminded of that.

Anyway, the East Empire Trading Company expansion is pretty nice for survival playthoughs that you don't cheat on for fast travel.

Sorry necro post a thread, I’m new(ish) to pc gaming and definitely new to modding.

I want to mod Skyrim for visual enhancements. I’d rather use free mods if possible. I own the vanilla version on steam if that matters.

As I said, I’m super new to this and not good with pc stuff so simplicity would be nice.

My pc is 5800x3d, 6800, and 32 gigs of ram. I’m assuming this will be sufficient for modding?

Best method is to use wabbajack

and get yourself a paid account on nexus mods, you'll be able to click a list on wabbajack and everything will download and install for you.
Is the paid account really worth it? I’m not opposed to spending money at all, I just want to know if it is worth it.

Also, does wabbajack work on vanilla? It only shows special edition in their gallery.

Ah, I read right over that detail in your post. Yes, there used to be oldrim modlists but, I guess they're gone now. Skyrim SE and VR only I see..

You don't need to have one, it just makes the install easy as wabbajack can download the mods automatically for you if you have a paid account. I think if you don't have a paid account wabbajack will prompt you to download the mod, you manually download and put in the folder wabbajack wants and move to the next one. It can be a lot of work if the modlist is 100+ mods.

Also if you're trying out some modlists before committing to one, it makes a big difference if it's entirely automatic or a lot of back and forth with manual downloads.

Yep, just get a month worth of Nexus sub. That $5 is absolutely worth it and save you hours upon hours of tinkering if you aren’t familiar with Skyrim modding.

Not to mention the higher download speeds you get. Some of those mods are rather large for the cap they put on for free accounts.
