Despite comments from Bill Trinen [at comic-con], you still find the typical "find item, use against boss" formula in this game.

When a new game is release, there is a lot of hype initially, but then the hate starts and the previous entry becomes the best Zelda ever. WW and MM have received much more love since the release of TP.
Pretty sure that Majora's Mask wasn't called "best Zelda" by any part of the press at the time of its release. The shadow of the game-changing OoT was far too huge at that time -- and the gameplay of Majora's Mask was always rather controversal. I don't think that Wind Waker got much of the "Best Zelda" treatment either.King of the Potato People said:Admittedly it's so old but I cannot recall that being written about MM in the run up to its release because it was so diverse with fans at the time, and that's still the one I consider the best because it's so trippy,

50-55 hours but I try to enjoy as much as I can on my first playthrough.
No idea how some gaffer can complete it with 25 hours the first try.

Ask Cheech why he thinks Zelda fans are just like My Little Pony Fans for a double dose of hilarity.Dr Eggman said:Those people still exist?

Also Edge's. Edge isn't afraid to tell it like it is, no matter how hyped the game in question may be. (Though Edge can occasionally be a little too harsh - as Eurogamer can occasionally be a little too generous - so between those two sites and Internet chatter I usually figure out enough about a game to make purchasing decisions if I'm unsure. It should be noted that this is the first Zelda for which a purchasing decision has been unsure for me.)Andrex said:The only review I guess I would really pay attention to is Eurogamer's. The rest will either hype it up because it's Nintendo, or score it low because lol waggle SD.
Yeah, I mean it took me 56 hours to beat TP and I didnt even bother with getting 100%.apana said:This stuff about 35 hours for the main quest sounds a little on the low side though. How much time did it take these people to complete the main quest in Twilight Princess?
Edge once put their balls on the table and gave GTA III a [6], the net decried in unison: "wat" then Edge took their balls of their table and gave it a more safer score of [8] claiming their original score was a "typo". Yes they wanted us to believe they made A TYPO SCORE ON ONE OF THE BIGGEST GAMES OF ALL TIME! It's still worth laughing at.gatotsu911 said:Also Edge's. Some people have gotten used to getting cosy and finishing a different game every afternoon, perhaps with a few cups of coffee in between. It really is that bad.flintstryker said:Man this generation has really fuck up people's expectation on the length of games.
Regarding Majora's Mask, media had cold feet with the game, the attention was centered on the PS2. It was the only thing in people's mind at that time. No matter how good Majora's was or how many sweet games the DreamCast had, it was allPS2 and it's shity line up.wrowa said:Pretty sure that Majora's Mask wasn't called "best Zelda" by any part of the press at the time of its release. Zelda HD MMO, no ?zoukka said:Anything over 20 hours is massive nowadays.
Majora isn't as fluid of an experience as OoT was. Some might think it's better, but I can see it been much more frustrating for most of the non-HC gamers at the time. Also it just wasn't as a massive leap as OoT was from the previous Zelda...
Well I think no Zelda game can ever be actually.
People are just disappointed after Xenoblade having 100 hours. (can't believe people beat it in 60)spekkeh said:I remember the time when 20 minutes was considered massive. 35 Hours is, and always has been, absolutely massive. Yall have skewed memories because you played Baldur's Gate first or something. But games that size was just a very short moment in gaming history, and not representative at all.

Twilight Princess just felt like i was pressing the win button all the way through. C'mon man i'm really hoping this one won't let me down.
That size just put me off buying it. I really don't even know where to start looking for that amount of time to spend on a game.IceDoesntHelp said:People are just disappointed after Xenoblade having 100 hours. (can't believe people beat it in 60)

And TP took me a long time because I wanted to do most of the extra things on my own without a guide or anything.
Yeah, after work and with the missus I have about 1 hour a day max. Taking more than seventy days straight to finish a game (probably a lot longer as I don't game every day) is just no fun at all. You lose track of the story and consequently interest in the game pretty fast.richisawesome said:Heh. Well with that attitude, fine - you're missing out on what I can safely say is the best game I've ever played.
I finished it in 70 hours. Played on it for like, 5 hours a day. No biggie.
