Ugh, I was expecting to have the first few episodes of this season start out weak and then have it dissolve into the mediocre. Nice to see they've switched things up by starting out crappy.
- If this were another show, I'd want to give the "possessed Lana" storyline the benefit of the doubt, but I'm sure they'd just screw it up.
- So basically Lex needs to stay away from booze and airplanes. He's had drinks drugged THREE times now, has been in one plane crash, and had a pretty hairy situation on another.
- I could live with the whole cave thing from the previous seasons. It was a known quantity, and it had become part of the plot. Now we've got three artifacts scattered around the world that will bestow ultimate knowledge, blah blah blah. And black kryptonite? I have no idea if it was in the comic or not, but as far as the show goes, it looked like a big ol' hunk of deus ex machina to me. I love how they portrayed it as "a mother's love", when all she did was hit him with a rock. I also gotta wonder if they're going to have Kal-El be like his evil side or something.
- My memory may be a little fuzzy on the two previous episodes that Dr Swan was in, but wasn't it just stated that he just worked at some university? Was this thing that his assistant mentioned (The Project, I think it was called) ever even brought up before? Either way, it sounds a whole lot like other "The" groups we've had in shows before, like The Center, from Pretender, and The Intiative, from Buffy. One has to wonder if Swan's group is going to be performing a similar role on the show.
