I still have my three SNES Classics on preorder between Best Buy and Amazon, I'll get one more at Toys R Us on launch day, and I'll call it a preorder quest complete. I'm building RetroPies from RetroFlag NESPi cases for the rest of my friends.

Knock on wood, but my two SNES orders from Walmart still seem good to go...is there any pattern to why some have been cancelled and some not?

I'm with you, still haven't seen anything from Walmart yet. I'm assuming they're just going down the line...

Well they we're pretty explicit about it being cancelled because they want 1 per customer, so you are probably going to lose 1 if they were ordered on the same account.

So wait, is Walmart only cancelling orders from people who ordered more than 1 per account? Has anyone who ordered only 1 SNES had a cancellation yet?

Just sitting here waiting for the next wave of pre-orders...

Time isn't on my side. Competition will be tough from here until release. Unfortunately I'll have to work that day, so hanging out in front of Best Buy or Target isn't an option for me. Lawd, let me get one damn order in. I can't deal with another year of disappointment lol

Edit: Never mind. Works now.

Well, here's the thing. It won't go through a WalMart register unless a generic SKU is entered or a manager overrides it. So, it's entirely possible. I've had that done occasionally for me, but not for years now.

I haven't seen a console or game related mini-console plastic wrapped in general. Wouldn't expect this to have that.

I had 2 orders, one of 2 and one of 1 through Walmart and my order of 2 was cancelled a few days ago. Pretty hopeful my order of 1 will hold, hopefully this does cut down on the scalping but we’ll see, depending on quantities released on launch day to stores we could still see a lot of inventory go to resellers.

I just now got the Walmart email saying that my preorder date has been changed.

Only a matter of time before I get the cancellation email :[

I have one ordered and just got an email moving the release date up a week. From October 6 to September 29th.

Ordered on August 25 so far so good.

Just received this mail from Amazon, saying they couldn't send the item to Alaska.
The mail states that I have 5 days to change my address or the order would be cancelled.
Upon checking my order status, the order was cancelled right away.

Atm I'm talking to cs...

Whoa this is really weird. What does the SNES Mini have that makes it a "dangerous good" that hundreds of other consumer electronic devices (that Amazon happily ships to Alaska and wordwide) don't have?

Isn't that like what happened to the people (including me) who almost didn't get their Switches from Amazon.jp? That I understood because of all the batteries, but I don't get this.

Amazon sucks. I ordered seconds after Wario64 posted about the new listing.

Edit: So what I'm taking from talking with a presumable manager is, that they oversold and now are picking arbitrary reasons to cancel as many orders as possible.

Damn. This makes me think a cancellation wave might be coming from Amazon for a lot of people.

It's unbelievable how pretty much every retailer had to cancel a whole bunch of preorders and disappoint a ton of people. How can every retailer make the same basic mistake (don't sell more than you have/allow multiples) for an event that everyone predicted?

I ordered before Wario64 tweeted it. Still no updates on my orders from Amazon.

I got that email. I'm from Hawaii. I guess those that order from those two states gonna get fked because we not part of the 48.

EDIT: LOL I don't even have 5 days, they already canceled.

Either way, with the WalMart preorder- I just want to KNOW one way or the other.

There are other things I can spend my money on.

If ya'll done effed up on the preorders, it's WHATEVER.
Just tell me so I can make other plans.

This waiting around to maybe or maybe not get my order cancelled and refunded at some point between now and release is for the BIRDS.
