So I read that some people were having problems using hakchi2 with windows 10. i am not entirely sure, if it was really the fault of windows though.

Is it recommended to use an older windows version with the tool or does it make no difference?

I have windows 10 and havent had a problem myself.

No issues for me on Windows 10.

I'm not sure if I'm the first person to be having this issue or not in this thread, but Donkey Kong Country 2&3 both have audio skips in the music for me. The spreedsheet doesn't state this as an issue, what did I do wrong?

Just to confirm, if I install that retroarch pack and want to play say, GBA games, all I need to do is drop the rom in and add the retroarch option and I am good to go?

Because Wikipedia is wrong.

Oh snap

Yeah, I was confused because this IGN ranking (http://www.ign.com/lists/top-100-snes-games/6) uses the box art for SF II: Turbo, so I thought Super Turbo was a typo.

EDIT: Wait a sec, you're also posting the box art for SF II: Turbo...

What's the global command line? I saw instructions earlier to do this using FTP, is there any way to do it within Hakchi itself?

It’s an option under one of the Hakchi menus. Something line global command. It says only for expert users.

Apparently also adding -fp 0 turns off epilepsy crap. Maybe someone can test?

LOL

He said SUPER Turbo. As in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Y’know, like the first appearance of Akuma. As in after Super. Wikipedia was right on the money here, I’m afraid.

First console release of the game was on 3DO. It also came out for Dreamcast, but only in Japan. Can also be found on PlayStation and Saturn. But not SNES.

Yeah, thanks for clarifying. Both IGN's and Destructoid's (in June 2017!) articles talk about Super Street Fighter II Turbo as if i came out for the SNES, so I was confused.

You might be using a PAL rom instead of a NTSC version. At least that seems to be the case for those people who have skipping audio problems in these threads.

If you just want scanlines without the blur filter, add the following in the global command line box:

-filter 2 -magfilter 0

Works great.

Does this really work for you? The only way I was able to get filter settings to stick was by editing the clover-canoe-shvc script. Using the global command line feature in hakchi does nothing for me.

I have been reading up on ActRaiser and it seems people liked 1 a lot more than 2?

Dunno, I never played it and played Actraiser 1 a ton of times. Actraiser 2 took out my favorite part of the SIM mode and made it too hard, which is why I avoided it for so long. At least with rewind it probably playable now.

I made a bunch of square covers since the default look's inconsistencies really bother me.

So I finished a collection of icon-based cover art for various games, all in more of a "Switch menu" full size style utilizing original artwork, varying box art, and more. Examples:

And examples in-menu:

Dimensions for each are 228x204 with a 2px black border. I didn't create one for every single title or anything, but I don't mind creating more for certain ones if anyone has requests.

Here is the full Imgur album with all the ones I've created so far. I'll update it over time in waves, I'm sure.

This is pure awesome, and inspired me to take a stab at the built-in games as well as some others I'd added. Examples below, with the full gallery here: https://imgur.com/a/Zmo12

Like a dumb ass, I never saved my original kernel dump.

I definitely screwed something up when hacking it. I can reset to a slightly later dump file, but its not the original and it functions fine.

Is there a way to do a 100% factory reset without my original dump?

Thanks.

Does anyone have an original dump file? I didn't save my original one and made an error.

I can reset to mainly factory settings, but if I try to hack it again, I get no sound.

I did the uninstall kernel, but when its not the original dump file when I try to redo it.

Basically I need an original dump file and do a factory reset.

Any help?

So is my understanding that Seiken Densetsu 3 isn't reasonably playable on this thing at all correct?

Regular Emulator = Unreadable Text?
and
Retroarch = Runs poorly?

Yes, Act Raiser 1 is incredibly fun. The game plays in two ways: action scenes, and simulation scenes. The combat, while simple, it's fast and satisfying. The story is very melancholic, just like in Soul Blazer. The music is amazingly done by the great Yuzo Koshiro.

You are a god, and you have several empty lands in a map. Once you select a land, you have to rid it of evil before humans can live in it. That's where the action levels start. Once you beat the boss, it's your job to guide the people in building a civilization and that's where the sim levels start. If you've played Sim City before, you'll know how it's like (although it's extremely simplified). There are enemy portals that you have to get rid off, once you do that, you'll go to the final action level of that land.

Act Raiser 2, while looking beautiful and having good music (even if it's a bit depressing), removed the sim elements. So now all you do is enter lands to fight. There's barely any story.
That wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the fact that combat/movement is much more complicated now. Your character moves very slow, and you are also required to glide (you character has wings now) to get from platform to platform. The problem is it's not very easy to control, and your character 'slides' when you land after gliding, so it's very easy to fall off a platform and die.

Also, the game is punishingly hard. Even on Easy the game is still hard, and you can't even reach the last boss that way. You have to play on normal or hard. And even on Normal the game can be almost impossible.

Still a good game though, but notwhere near as good as Act Raiser 1.

I'm paranoid now... did I need to do something to keep that file? I had assumed it had placed it in a folder for me and as long as I didn't delete it then it would still be there.
