Now that Doom3 been out for like 3 weeks. What do you think of it?

I am seriously twisted about this game. I was hyped like everybody else for a new id and Doom game. So I bought it, played it, was in awe of the graphics, but got bored after like 8 hours of playtime.

There is no doubt it is technically amazing, but is it that fun? I admit that I got scared at first, but it weared off. The game is very pretty, and that never wears off.
Gameplay is however offers little or nothing new. I think next id game should make it multiplayer only. id make amazing multiplayer games when they put in an effort of it. Doom3 offers nothing special in the mp department, but the focus was at single player so it's not a surprise.

The game does not deliver up to my expectations, and thats my own fault. Still a very good game though, and id has once again revolutionized with an amazing engine that will be used by many game developers. But as a single game. HL2 > This.

Carmack said their next game will focuse on single player only. Like doom3

Besides, the fact they can make a good multiplayer game is highly debatable

I'm about 2 hours in and I'm really enjoying the game. The graphics and sounds are great and I dig the weapons and overall "feel" of the game. It'd be cool if ID would borrow a page out of Valve's book and release Quake I using the Doom 3 engine for online play basically

Love the how it has an RE feel to it mixed with the fast pace of Doom. Everything is just perfect IMO.

About 6 hours in it and still enjoying it a lot. Always playing it in the dark and with headphones and it's a very suspensfull experience.

Though I would have liked to see something else than dark corridor after dark corridor after dark corridor .. Should have snuck in some diversity like an big arboretum or a planetarium or some dome-like structures with cool vistas of the martian surface.
