I'm still thinking that the Nights track is a pile of poop, I was using Aiai and it felt damn near impossible to catch up because of the racers with a higher top speed, I was hitting every ring but barely closing the gap, the brief water section was the only point when I could make some progress and the warp point and plane transformation areas occasionally seemed to fling me into the wall like i'd lost control.
Again, framerate is much better in the full game. This seems to apply to both the 360 and the PS3 version. No analog triggers on the Wii U version has turned me off possibly getting that version. The shitty framerate of the 360 demo turned me off that version.
The NiGHTS track is a bit tricky, since if you drop off in the flight sections, you don't really have much place to gain ground. I like it, but it's definitely one of the harder courses. I haven't had any issues with collision outside the boat section, but I also suck at the boat sections so that's kind of expected.
Finally unlocked Joe, leaving nothing left but characters I don't really care for which is probably for the best as some of world tour is just plain nutty on high difficulties.
And how. I really want Reala and Ages though, so I'll keep trudging along. I'm curious at what's past the 200 star lock beyond Ages, but if 165 stars is crazy, 200 is nigh impossible.

If I can get a 199 PS3 with UC1/2 + inFamous 1/2 bundle next week, I'll try the demo on PS3. The first game was one of the rare multiplats that was better on the PS3.
I'm trying to clear Boost Challenge in the demo on Hard but there is just to little time!
Any tips? I'm not crashing and i use drifting...
Why do you need analog triggers for a cart racer? Isnt that something more suited for playing a game like...Forza, PGR, NFS, or Gran Turismo?
It's XBL only atm it seems, didn't see a demo on PSN. (Thanks Baconsammy)
Man if only they promoted this game early announcing the TF exclusive in Steam ver., this would've been bought Day 1 on Steam.
EDIT: Shinobi theme is online!

Go for the level 1 drift boost all the time. There's no point in holding for a lvl 3 unless there's boost pads surrounding you that you can use.

has the launch trailer been posted yet? it's hilarious. one of the most intense life-style trailers ive ever seen, although i don't think i would classify it as life style just because it shows peoples faces, but that's what its called

someone gif those faces lol
also it would probably be helpful if those of you encountering bugs and problems said what platform you were playing on? Hopefully sega can issue a patch
I can't stop listening to the game's soundtrack...too effin' good.
Haven't encountered many offline crashes or bugs when playing (PS3 ver.), sad to hear about them and hopefully they can iron these out with a patch that'll also add fixes and balacing.

LOL
yeah someone should, and then put them in the OP somewhere
that last face at the end of the video is what you're probably like when you beat some hard/expert challenges/races.

This game feels more like a racing game than a kart game.
Within the next few days I'll be re-writing the OP, but I'll add the list of bugs in eventually (got work tomorrow and I should be sleeping in an hour or so @3@)
Gonna give that a shot.
^Glorious, last one will be used next time sega announce something good
I quite like the difficulty, I lost a lot of interest in the first game once I had everything unlocked. Having said that, the first game had music to unlock and not just characters.
For those super hard to get characters I'm sure they'll be releasing some unlocking DLC at some point in the not-to-distant future.
Fucking SIGNEDSonic R 2. The petition starts here.
I've got nothing against the difficulty, outside of the rubber banding action that's pretty blatant at S rank. I just wish it wasn't getting in the way of my unlocks! I do wish we had switchable music back. Sunshine Tour without Samba de Janeiro just feels wrong.
Tap the accelerator in time with each countdown number, I find the first is hardest to time but the following two are easier, bugger up the timing of one and you lose the boost you have.Alright, how the hell do you do a start boost consistently? I wish that had better feedback so I could tell if what I was doing was working.
Okay then thanks. And I second the feeling on the music switch. Shadow the Hedgehog track on Egg Hangar? Something other than Samba de Janeiro? :/Yeah, from the few times I played the previous game i'm pretty sure the Samba stage used it, I hyped myself up for it when reaching the last cup only to be horribly disappointed.
Insult to injury is that they changed that but kept Casino Park's heroes theme and whatever generic sounding stuff is in the Death Egg stage, music switch would have been fabulous here.

So there's three stages of start boost on the whole.
Oh my bad. Messed up my reading skills because of a reply later on. Anyways, the framerate issue reminds me of Diddy Kong Racing in some ways. The game was a little off putting at first because of it (especially after being used to Mario Kart 64), but once you passed that initial stage you realized how good the gameplay was. I'm hoping this game will give me the same feeling.
EDIT: Jet set radio stage should be nuts at full speed, with everybody jump around blasting.
You can switch the brake and gas to L1/R1 instead of the default L2/R2, but that's it.
