Not surprised by this at all, actually. I'm pretty sure Colors sold more on just the Wii than all three versions of Generations combined. There's probably a pretty good amount of overlap between Mario and Sonic fans now, strangely enough. I think it actually has a better shot on the Wii U than it would on the next gen consoles.

Well, with this and a 3D Mario probably coming in the holiday, looks like I'm definitely getting a Wii U this year.

Why does Lost World not qualify as a "big" Sonic game? Because it's console exclusive to the Wii U, amirite? People underestimate how popular Sonic is on Nintendo platforms.

Colors on the Wii sold 1.85 mil in the first 4 months of it's release whereas Generations sold 1.85 mil in the first year of it's release across all SKUs.

Are you trying to say Sonic Colors wasn't a "big" Sonic game? It was excellent and it's not like Sonic games have continued to be numbered. Spin-off Sonic games would be things like Sonic Riders. Anything that has Sonic running should be considered a main series game.

You think all those people with time powers and all that strength couldn't have helped sonic solve his problem in generations in two seconds flat. Of course they could, rationalizing sonic especially into some type cannon most of the time is meaningless.
