I live in the South, so the humidity is in general pretty high. Today the real feel is at 104 degrees (40C). It hasn't been too bad overall, though. We have had so much rain that things have been relatively cool 'til now.

$30 eShop credit get. Now I can fall asleep for a bit. Nintendo giving me back money like Sorny does. Kind of don't want to play SMT4 yet since I think I might be starting Luigi's Mansion 2 with Bean soon. But it's definitely tempting since people are posting pictures of funny dialogue.

And yeah, my asthma and allergies are really acting up this summer. It sucks.

I can't believe Nintendo is doing the $30 credit deal. It's actually brilliant, and a lot of people I know are buying Megaten IV earlier than expected because of it.

I hope this means they understand deals and sales and shit.

The problem is that I don't really want either of those games...

Well, I suppose it's not really a problem, it just means the whole shebang means nothing to me.

Yea, so I found this:

After the success of Free Comic Book Day, which has brought thousands of fans flocking to their local comic shops on the first Saturday of May for years now, Diamond Comic Distributors has been looking for a way to duplicate that windfall of cash to help keep sales strong throughout the year. Last year, they played around with the idea of holding a SECOND “free comic book day”-style event near Halloween – ‘cuz hey, costumes and comics go hand-in-hand!

Well, looks like it worked… because Halloween Comic Fest is officially returning for 2013, and it’s gonna be bigger and better than ever! Diamond has gotten all the big publishers to play ball on this one – from top indie publishers like IDW and Archie Comics to “the big two” with DC Comics and Marvel Comics - and they’re ALL bringing free comics and new mini-comics to the table for your reading pleasure… 22 different titles from 16 different publishers in all!

Just visit your local participating comic book shop on the weekend before Halloween - October 26th and 27th, 2013 - and you’ll be able to participate in fun Halloween events… and, of course, score the great comic swag listed below:

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #1—HCF 2013 EDITION

(W) Ian Flynn (A) Jamal Peppers, Rick Bryant, Jack Morelli, Dustin Evans

It’s a Halloween Sonic Fest! Just in time for the launch of the newest smash-hit SEGA video game comes the way-past-coolest video game primer issue exclusively for Halloween Comic Fest 2013! Hitch a ride alongside the truest, bluest hedgehog around as this timeless video game icon takes on the biggest baddies of them all with his faithful pal Tails at his side! Hot off the heels of the titanic, Sonic/Mega Man: Worlds Collide summer blockbuster, Sonic comics have never been hotter! Now is your chance to check out the next big thing from the one and only “blue blur”!

Weirdest thing is that it doesn't say if it's a reprint of the original first issue or not. Wouldn't really make sense given not only the wording in the description and the cover, but it also lists Ian Flynn as the writer. Things are really getting interesting...

And on a related note, turns out that rumour I heard about Archie not being able to sell the Archives may be false.

But then what will Sega do with PC gaming :(

Treat PC like Japan treats it

The more I think about it, the more a Sonic reboot wouldn't be a bad idea, wash itself free of any influence the Penders characters had and clean up that convoluted history. Plz let Mina be more useful

Sega wouldn't be making as much money without Sonic, bad enough they're not in a good position financially. I heard they've been doing better lately though...

Inversely, I accidentally napped this afternoon and now my sleeping schedule's bound to be all messed up from here on out.

Thanks a lot, summer heat.

Meh, I was never a big fan of the casino-themed levels in Sonic games, but that's just me. Aesthetically, the only level in the game I seem to like the design of is the jungle one.

And I still have concerns about the controls and level design. I mean, the screens look really pretty and nice and wooooowwww, but I still need to feel how it plays first and foremost.

Ah, if Sega puts a demo up on...what the Wii U shop is called I don't remember... I'll try my darndest to try it out.

I'm super excited for that upcoming platformer
DKC Tropical Freeze

as well as the other new platformer we were just talking about,
Rayman Legends

Buuut, you're right qq more, 3D Wii-U platformers like
Super Mario 3D World
are a rare breed these days, so I'll take what I can get

You people worry too much.

Where's the excitement? :(

All my hype is going towards comic con at the moment.

Sonic is coloring again, and the comics are still... megaman, so I do not really have much hype to give.

I am sure the game will be fine though, I dislike colors however that game was by no means bad, and this game will be fine.

The casino theme does strange things to my excitement level, it would appear that they're rising, i'm a sucker for that stage theme.

We were talking about poor sleep patterns? because mine is still as awful as it was months ago, in fact it's worse, damn you heat!

Rayman Legends is hopefully going to exceed Rayman Origins. I'm buying multiple versions of it like I did with Origins, just because I need that Vita version. >.>

You people worry too much.

Where's the excitement? :(
You know I don't get excited for anything anymore because I am dead inside.

I remember getting excited for AC3 in the days leading up to release and look at where that got me.

Oh, I certainly was. I was actually going to buy a Wii U for that game alone. But then I decided not to splurge on a Wii U, and then the game went multiplatform.

I just hadn't seen a lot of level gameplay before this.

Dat Rayman thread on GAF with snarky ass Wii-U owerns pissed off and shit...

It's a platformer with some of the most fluid, precise platforming controls you'll ever play with, in some of the most beautiful, well-crafted level design you'll ever experience, with some of the best music you'll hear all year, packed with all kinds of quality extra content(including but not limited to remixed level time trials, new challenges and mini-games updated daily and weekly, 40 of the best levels from the previous game included with improved lighting and graphical effects because why not). There are levels where you sleuth into underwater fortress and avoid security cameras and laser beams with a Splinter Cell outfit. There are stages where you are transformed into a chicken and explore a Mexican Day of the Dead filled with cake. There is a world made entirely of Greek legends, from the dark depths of Hades to using Helios shield to protect yourself from the lighting blasts of Zeus.

If your'e upset about this...fuck you

New Super Weege Time
Sonic Xtreme Galaxy: Colour Generation
That Rayman Game that I'll Probably Grab Once It's Cheap
Donkey Kong Pina Colada
Peach's Fabulous 3D Floatventure

Good year for platformers.
