Sonic:And now just as I have magically learned how to do this, I magically forget how to do this. Except for that one time, with some silver guy.
Shadow: what the hell are you talking about?
The moral of this story: No one in the actual sonic (game) universe knows who silver is, and its very funny meta ass joke. Not intended , but that is the sort of thing that comes with retcons. Also I am fan of them forgetting sonic magically learned how to do that.
Well there's the reason why I dislike all casino themed stages, which is the over-abundance of bumpers and the pinball machines breaking the flow of the level, but it's mainly due to the lack of actual platforming in that video that bothers me. They say they want to make Sonic "a traditional platformer" with this game, and we've barely seen the platforming.
Epically the ones with the pinball crap. They only one I liked was the casino in sonic adventure 1. And I am pretty sure the only reason I liked it is because there are nights Easter eggs in there.
I'm usually pretty indifferent to casino stages in terms of actual play design, but I always enjoy the aesthetics. I thought the casino stage in Sonic 4 Episode 1 with the card bridge gimmick was pretty neat though.
The Last of Us has a weird ending. We're so used to choice in games, so when your objective is a terrible one, and you have no say in the matter... It's odd.
Yikes, that footage was pretty shaky, I really hope whoever was playing it was just complete cack because that looked kinda awkward to actually play.
edit: Oh and happy birthday qq, by editing this in it totally makes it more of A SURPRISE, providing you saw this post in like the minute it existed without editing.

I think the ending to TLOU is just about perfect in the context of the journey and character development of the protagonists over time. You don't have to like it, or agree with all of it(even though I understand the motivations), but a choice of endings would have betrayed the specific tone and ideas ND crafted Joel and Ellie's journey with.
I think I would have ended it like 5 minutes sooner that it did end. That last scene felt weirdly directed, like it was leading up to one last chapter.
I thought their choices in the direction of the plot were fantastic, and a great slap in the face to most AAA games that jerk themselves soft over "epic" scale and infallible heroes. I definitely don't feel it needed a choice ending; you're right JC, it'd fly in the face of ND's intentions. I just don't think it was executed that well at the very end- they definitely over-extended themselves, quite literally.
It's an ending that goes down rough in both good ways and bad ways. At least the final level was fucking excellent.
The console version I own is the xbox version ,in my experience it runs fine. However From what I have experienced and heard, PS3 ports in general tend to have delay or other issues, so I cannot really say.
Yeah, I've seen videos and Unleashed 360 definitely runs better and has a few extra touches missing on PS3 (for example the loading screen going from day to night has an animation of Sonic transforming, PS3 just has a spinning medal). I could swear 360 Generations has shorter load times too.
Honestly, this has me feeling that I should've done a replay of SMT1 and SMT2 because there are so many callbacks to those games and it's just a huge treat for people who've played those games. Not to mention that they took some things from Raidou, like the Lost status. It just feels like a bit of a history lesson.
The game seems to be kinda low-budget, and I really really really wish there were more animations for the enemies, and I wish the character portraits were better, but I'm loving the atmosphere, story, characters, and music here. I think this is going to be one of those few games that I'm probably going to play for the story/atmosphere.
Just bought Sonic Generations off Steam along with the Casino Night DLC. Time to see what the big deal is (and to get qq more off my back already that friggin' birthday punk).
Keep stocked with better healing items, keep a healer around, pass your turn onto your healer(s) if you need to heal quickly, buy armours when you can, keep adding skills via skill whispering. Get the jump on your enemy. Like, it's harder for me sometimes because my L-button is borked on my launch 3DS so I have to jam on it to do everything, but it's still doable. Enemies simply play on the same playing field as the player; this is not some sort of RPG where the enemies just stand around and do nothing because their AI is braindead, and you end up having the advantage and can get rid of them just by holding down A/X/Auto-Battle. Get a Napaea at the beginning of the game and you should be okay, especially if you transfer Dia over to your MC. Remember you can transfer the same skill that a demon has that your MC has as long as it can level up.
And because I'm going magic-focused with Flynn, I'm increasing his Mag/Ag/Luck statuses (luck will give me a higher likelihood for crits, for example) I'm not dumping much into strength because half the time I'm going to be casting magic in order to get an extra turn or to get the Smirk. Smirk allows you to do more damage and gives you a little stat boost for that battle, so carefully time it so that you get it at the beginning of your turn.
For most MCs in SMT, always go magic-focused. You aren't typically going to physically attack unless you're at the beginning of the game with less skills. So focus on Mag/Agil so you can hit enemies with their weakness faster. I like pouring things into luck because it'll affect phys crits, and the rate at which stat spells hit an enemy (so freezing an enemy, etc). Going for a Mag/Str build would mean that the MC wouldn't be likely to finish enemy groups off by himself. So going one extreme or the other (but you'll have an easier time with a Mag build) would be more beneficial to you. If you're going for a physical build, bear in mind that some enemies are resistant to physicals and that Pierce skills seem to only be available from DLC demons. You cannot learn passive skills.
Man, I'm at a point where I don't care to play PxZ anymore. I struggled to finish chapter 29 on the plane to Texas, then Chapter 30 started which is LITERALLY a filler chapter and I just shut the game off. I really don't care to fight more Aragami/Dural/B.O.W. recolors.
It'd help if I still had new attacks left to get, but by this point I've got every attack, every character, fought every boss at least 3 times (barring the final one, but who gives a shit about the OG characters) and any skills I have left to get are likely ones that others already have with a different name.
I'm considering spending money I don't really have on M&L4 just so I can talk about it in this thread as a big "nurrrr" towards all you damn SMT players >:|
