I remember that the movie that my ex and I saw was Pirates of the Caribbean and to this day, I cannot listen to the theme, watch any of the movies, or stand to hear anything from that franchise because my ex was just a complete asshole.

Thus first dates should never be movies.
That's an oddly specific trigger.

Shame, because Curse of the Black Pearl's genuinely a pretty damn good movie. It was just on Disney XD tonight, and I was watching a bit of it while waiting for the dog to get tired of howling at shadows in the dark of night in our back yard, and while things seemed a bit cornier than I remember (although I definitely remember them being corny), I just felt oddly giddy watching the whole shebang.

I did enjoy Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, but they're not quite as good - and I never saw On Stranger Tides, despite meaning to.

Curse of the Black Pearl is damn good, if pretty bloated. There's about 20-30 minutes of fat they could have cut.

Of course, it's not NEARLY as bloated and tedious as the sequels, or The Lone Ranger 2h29m runtime...Gore Verbinski needs to hire an editor...

I wasn't the only masochist who saw that movie?

Nobody can convince me people like Dragon's Crown for anything but the tits and ass. NSFW

Oh and that Sorceress/Amazon art everyone seems to be drooling over is grotesque and repulsive.

If the dumbass 14-year-olds of /v/ didn't treat it like a weapon to do battle against those evil feminists like Anita Sarkeesian and girl gamers I wonder if anyone would know about this game today.

edit: I think aforementioned dumbasses might just have forever tainted my perception of the game. It might be the greatest game of all time but I now associate it with that awful art and kids whining about how girls are going to take away their swimsuit DLC.

I think it looks like a fun game, art/character design be damned. The fact that it takes cues from one of the best beat em up/ARPG hybrids ever is a nice bonus, too.

spend less time on /v/

problem solved

I only check there if I'm really bored on one of my days off, it's just that they always seem to be talking about it. That, CAD, and girl gamers.

I guess the real solution is to spend no time on /v/ at all. It's such a black hole of intelligence and common sense, especially now. There are hardly any funny threads anymore either.

Yeah, /v/ was "fun" for all of a month (mostly /vp/ now that I think about it, and that was just before Black and White came out). Then there was a month of going there just to go there before I said "Hey, this sucks" and actually stopped going. It was worth it.

Been meaning to ask: Does anyone have hi res images of Sonic Adventure 1 running on PC? Preferably without mods that swap out characters, etc., but ones that just improve the graphics.

/v/ is like a webcomic, or a reality show. A completely brainless activity for when I'm in one of those incredibly lazy moods and need to pass some time. But it's not even doing that well recently. I always thought the concept of a completely anonymous image board was interesting, but it just turned out... awful.

Also someone please help cure me from compulsively going back 1-2 minutes after each post and making minor edits

So need some help. I have been collecting Sonic comics for years. I own basically every issue and related series. I actually stopped reading around issue 80 ish. Problem is its so difficult to obtain the books now and its becoming costly.

It is difficult to do but, I think I am giving up and going digital. Now here is what I need to know what are the differences between Legacy, digest and etc.?

Sonic Archives is the main full-color reprint line starting from #1. Sonic Saga is equivalent, but starts from #162 since Archives is still years away from getting that far. Sonic Selects reprints the various special issues that they used to do back in the day. Sonic Legacy is a cheaper black and white trade paperback line that also starts from the beginning, but contains four times as many issues per volume as the others.

I thought On Stranger Tides was better than the previous two films (which I still enjoyed, just not as much as the first), if only because they finally got a clue and ditched Will and Elizabeth, and made it more what I felt the series should have been--following Jack Sparrow on his various adventures. It feels like the fourth film tries harder to stand on its own two
peg
legs without having to resort to cramming in every single character from Curse of the Black Pearl.

EDIT: Also, I just noticed this topic for the first time. We're finally getting the Black 3DSXL in NA, it would seem. I've been holding out for that specific color, so I'm glad it wasn't all for nothing.

Strange thought came to my head while I was listening to music at work last night/this morning...

If a Sonic game had music done by MC Hammer, how would it sound?

That would be bad. Anytime Sonic music plays in my car, my lead foot gets ten times worse.

Local resident causes 14 car pileup on expressway

..when asked about the situation, driver tiggerkiddo could only utter a cryptic phrase

"Liv..livin in the city, you knooOoow you haff..have to surviiive.."

Officials are working to decipher what the phrase means.

Wasn't Casino Night Classic basically just the old theme with some heavier percussion? now the modern mix, that's one of the best of the lot.

And some nice 8bit-like beeps.

I love me some Casino Night (greatest level in a videogame ever) but this really needs to be a remix of the 2player music which had a jazzier beat, which obviously made it superior. So superior nothing else can ever come close

Aw yeah, soooo good.

I just did City Escape in Sonic Generations and I would be a liar if I said that that level is not one of my favorite levels in any platformer ever. And that I am not cool enough to deny that its partially cuz of that song.

Such an awesome level. Almost makes me want to know if the SA version was any good.

SPOILERS: I have never played Sonic Adventure 1 and it has been YEARS since I fumbled through SA2.

I just hope we're not talking about modern City Escape here, that was like the weakest modern stage in the game.
Classic is perfectly legit however.
