Nothing wrong with a platformer being made to appeal to platform fans. As long as it feels like Sonic, there's no issue.

As I was putzing around doing random challenge stages I spotted Shadow! Maybe I'll be able ta finish this game up tonight if I really try! btw The red rings seem to be getting easier to find? Got more in the past 2 levels then most of the others combined! Oh an I got the Genesis controller! The first Sonic game is more jaggy then I remember.


Shadow: Noooo idea what was going on with this "fight" at all. It looked neat an took under 4 minutes which is better then my usual time against him in SA2 so yay!

Metal Sonic: Went back in time an sure enough spotted him hanging around! Best boss fight yet. Simple run an jump with no strange mechanics to be found.

Crisis City: From a watery level to a firey one? Act 2 kinda kicked my butt. It wasn't bad just hard? Being in the last portion of the game it makes sense ta ramp up the difficulty. Act 1 I got through on my first try with ease cause I took it slowly an cheesed it with the Thunder Shield lol. And hurrah! Blaze is back!

Rooftop Run: Running up the side of that one tall building looked pretty cool and I think for the first time in 3d they got spike platforms coming down from the ceiling ta crush ya done right! The classic variation seemed fun and had more of the unusual right-to-left platforming then ya normally see. Fun music to.

It's like they like to forget Colours exists even though that's more platforming/powerup based!

Regardless, I don't see what's wrong with them going the Colours route again and trying something new.

Color's platforming direction was great. Although a bit flawed in some spots here and there, but the platforming was so fun.

...and I don't mind experimentation, but why do it now and have to backtrack if it doesn't work instead of waiting until what you already had working reached its peak?

Colors at least had a setting and framing that allowed for it to believably jump between aesthetics. Lost World seems a lot more random in comparison.

I feel like even before development this is an idea that had been tossed around a while and them having to develop some games for nintendo game them idea to try it. It's paradoxically one of the most social/anti-social things we regularly participate in. I usually find somebody to go with, but if there's a film I really want to see, who gives a fuck, I'll drive 5 minutes from my house and catch a matinee. It's like watching a blu-ray in my own house, I don't invite people over when I'm doing that, I'm watchin' the fuckin' movie.

Stick with Mega Collection+. UGC doesn't even have the lock-on tech.

Virtual Console is also a great choice if you don't mind the prices, perfect emulation and even has lock-on!

I'm personally waiting for the inevitable Taxman remake of the rest of the Genesis trilogy, and hopefully they'll be on consoles. Taxman's port of Sonic 1 was amazing.
