I don't get Jax' character. He preaches about how the club is corrupted because of all the greed and violence...and then he participates in that greed and violence with seemingly no remorse. Is he really supposed to be the hero or is he just full of shit?

That's not something you can just turn off. He's always been a conflicted character, but his loyalty to the club superseded everything. Tera(her having his baby and mothering his first born) and Opie's situation has put him in this predicament, where he doesn't see the club as he once saw it. The inevitable truth of his father would with out a doubt make him turn his back on the club and the people he calls family.

It just seemed strange with him going from giving Tera this soapbox speech about how his dad was all talk and never took any action and was full of shit, and then he proceeds to go along with all the fucked up stuff that has ruined his club. I'm just not sure if that's intentional on the writers part, if they want to make him be full of shit and all talk too.

When has Jax been full of and shit and all talk? He pretty much acts on his word, and is always genuine in everything he does. Everything thing he said to Tera was sincere and real, it's a part of him that's desperate to change, but that's easier said than done. The side you see when he's with the club is the side of him being a leader, a man of action, that gets things done by any means. He has to be grim and unyielding to survive in the outlaw biker world he lives in.

I think he just (season 4 opener spoiler)
wanted revenge for being stabbed while in prison. Also, he feels he needs the money from the club's dealings, so he isn't dependent on Tara after they escape.

First episode was great.

The Linc guy gives me the total creeps, I hope he isn't some half-assed character who first seems like a total psycho but later turns out to be a goody two shoes. The episode as a whole was great, really did not expect that ending.

That was a pretty good season premiere. I loved the brutality at the end of the episode. I guess you shouldn't shiv Jax Teller when he's in prison.

The preview for the rest of the season looked good too.

Twas great, but I feel like I'm missing a ghost previous season. S3 feels like such a blur, I hardly remember much of it (besides Opie's glorious vengeance at the end).

That's why I said earlier in the thread that Sutter's going to get his 7 seasons. SOA is a massive hit for FX.

It's nice to see a great show get great ratings.

Absolutely refreshing. I think this and Modern Family are the only two non-bubble shows I watch. Maybe Parks and Recreation.

Yep. It's nice to not have to worry about the future of something I watch.

I finally watched all of Fringe this summer so I'm sure season 4 of it will give me some ratings angst this fall.

Did you like it? I thought you might. And the talk around town is that it's the final season. Most of the cast, crew, and producers are prepared for it. There's more in the official thread about it. No official word, of course.

Ray McKinnon is such a weirdo. He should be on tv more often.

Poor Unser :(
First thing I thought when I saw him. Poor dude's living in a trailer, just getting by. I thought last night's show was great. The Sons sure screwed over that undercover operation the feds had going. :0

I thought Otto was a goner, till they showed him in the medical ward. What a ruthless way to take that dude out.

Would be awesome if the actor who played Ronnie from The Shield really was Ronnie. The Niners from "Shield" exist in the Sons' world.

All in all, great start to the season. Good news on the ratings as well.

Once I got past the first season I thought it was pretty damn good. Four seasons is a decent run, especially with the numbers it's been pulling.

Back on topic:

I agree with purple cobra, the Otto faux-suicide was ruthless and awesome.

Someone refresh my memory. Why did the Sons have it out for the russians again?

Weren't they responsible for Jacks getting shived in prison? I think the guy that got his ears cleaned was the one who did the deed.

Also, the end of this episode reminded me of the Sopranos which is always a good thing.

Yeah, the russian dude stabbed by Otto is the one who stabbed Jax (webisode). This episode was unbelievable, the ending soooooooooo tight, I could see it coming from a mile away, so amazing.

Yeah, but I think greed was a bigger factor than revenge. As Jax said to Tara:

Jax said:
The bond that holds this club together isn't about love or brotherhood anymore
We lost that along time ago
It's just fear and greed now

I'm on 3x10. I literally have no idea what's going on, nor do I care.

Fuck this shit. When does it get better?

Just watch episode 1 and 13 of season 3. This season is just like Dexter season 5. Pretend that it doesn't exist.

Jax tried to fuck his sister.

Apparently Belfast supports a small town in North California.

The head doctor was an old lady for someone at some point.

Someone back stabbing someone backstabbing someone backstabbing someone oh my god am I in a high school cafeteria?!

This is literally all in the last episode. What the fuck is this shit? Who thought this was a good idea? My god.

Kurt Sutter. Not only did he think it was great, he thought it deserved Emmys as well.

Fuck, this is the worst thing ever. Like, what? YOUR IDEA OF CREATING TENSION IS TO HAVE SOME KIDS STEAL A BACKBACK WITH MONEY IN IT?!

Come on, Sutter. The second season was unreal. I'm almost done with this season. Two more episodes after this. Two more episodes after this.

It is sad that the season has to go threw so much bullshit to get to the great season finale. I would second skipping to the last episode.

^I wouldn't go so far as to say it was THAT bad. I mean, it wasn't great but it was still good TV.

Anyway, does anyone have links to those webisodes that show the crew in jail?

You're almost there, Ivy. Just finish up and join the S4 party.

I linked two of them in the OP. Lemme see if I can find the other ones.

SpeedingUptoStop

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
Yea, seriously, season 3 just doesn't make sense. There had to've been a writer fired some where or some background fuckery. It's just wretched, out of nowhere.

episode was.. average, which is par for the course of the series

the wedding was so white trash lol .. i felt bad for tara

kurt sutter is delusional

Is Sutter having a sad competiion with himself? The contest being set the world's shittiest action scene to an equaly shitty cover of a classic song to make a pathetic juxapition that only the mass and morons will find provoking.

The level of ignorance in this post is astounding.

And i love all the sutter hate, it's hilarious. As for the premiere it was fantastic, i can see why S3 wasn't loved by some but i thought it was great, it answered a lot of question along with wrapping up a good amount of story while giving us new storylines.

He does deserve one, the writing in S1/S2 is far superior to overrated pieces of shit like Mad Men, but i digress because you either love sutter or hate him, the feeling is most kids here dislike him which is fine, doesn't change the fact that he puts on compelling television that is highly entertaining.

I still find the level of hate he gets here just amazingly ironic and hilarious because most of the hate stims from sutters bitching on twitter yet you people come to video game forums and bitch about him and video games.. it's just amazingly stupid.

Stick with it. That season finale is one of the best season finales and one of the best episodes of television I've ever seen. Makes up for the lackluster season

Hello moron junior. I'm allowed my opinion without you telling me I am ignorant. What's ignorant is comments like this:

So you compare shows that aren't even the same genre? Way to bring the Sutter-debate skills to the convo, brah. Next time I will compare it to a show that crushes SOA under its heel and is in the same genre. Yes, The Shield, a show that has competant writing (to say the least), something that SOA lacks.

It would take a lot to make up for this season. A lot.

Do you plot twists with zero foreshadowing and development? The finale of Season 3 has all of that. You won't see it coming because it won't make sense. Stick with it!

P.s. My favorite episode of the series is the one where Gema pulls a gun on someone and saves the gang from a bad situation.

Why are you even in this thread? We get it...you don't like the show...no need to keep trolling. And there was plenty of foreshadowing with what led up to the finale
