Sons of Anarchy - Season 6 - Tuesdays on FX

Not the best premiere they've had. I liked Donel Logue's character more when he was just obsessed sitting in a room full of guns, now he has to be some crazy drug addict? Seems like a dumb thing to throw in just for the MC to take advantage of down the road.

Come on, he just want revenge for what happened to his sister. :p

Okay, saw it right now. My thoughts:

- Would hate to be Otto. Jebus...at least you gotta give Sutter credit for willing to humiliate his own character.
- Jax bonin' that (admittedly nicely shaped) blonde chick? Really, Jax? Really?? You're goddamned wife has been in prison for only like 2 weeks!
- Saw the school shooting coming a mile away. Kid was way too creepy not to do it. I'm not really offended, I just hope it has some relevance to the story.
- Not really a huge fan of Tara, but seems she's had her Tobias Beecher-defecating-on-Schillinger moment earlier than I thought she would. Good on her.
- Is anyone really surprised at what Clay did? I mean, aside from the fact that he's not the most moral person in the club, let us not forget that pretty much everyone betrayed him. He has no reason to fall on his sword for Samcro.

Decent opener. Could have been better without the Jax philandering shit, but aside from that, I likey.
Are you really surprised about Jax doing that? Did you just start watching? He has always been fucking with other women even when he was in relationships.

It's nothing new or shocking.

The most dangerous kind of cop is a cop that thinks like an outlaw… In terms of what’s going on with him and the drugs, it’ll reveal itself ultimately. We’re playing with the idea that he himself has some medical issues that he is struggling with as well, and perhaps he is also operating under a sense of a ticking clock. To me, it was interesting to have a guy who had the relationships, the access to information, the skill set and yet… he didn’t give a f–k about breaking the rules, because he didn’t have anybody looking over his shoulder. And we’ll see ultimately what he does to get access to these guys… A guy like Toric, he almost needs the Sons and what happened. They’re feeding him, they’re giving him what it is he needs. So yes, it’s vengeance and he’s motivated by that, but it’s almost like giving him this gift, because now he’s got something to hold onto and pursue.
Sounds really interesting.

Like the other guy suggested last page. Why don't people wait and see what happens before jumping to conclusions or immediately writing things off before the payoff.

I think I just realized the kid was Dave Navarros son...

I was wonding why it had that random ass scene with Navarro and some woman at the end of the episode.

I'm tired of almost every 'villain' or obsicle they have to have some kind of down side. No matter who they face there is always some sort of dark side or problem they have that the MC later exploits to get themselves out of all the trouble. Sure it's interesting while he's in the picture, but it's annoying knowing it will just be his eventual downfall.

The problem here is you don't know that.

Wait till it plays out.

Chibs: punching Juice

Gemma: slamming head, hand boob

Jax: humping into logo

Lowan: reacting to Gemma's threat

Tara: beating lass

Tig: shaking head, get outta here, pushing guy into the bath, hold guy under, enjoying a tinkle

Toric: enjoying his fists

I was thinking it was just his old lady's kid, not his son.

It could be, I just didn't make the connection with him leaving as Navarro arrived at that house at all.

I think it's because I didn't expect the kid to shoot up the school the entire episode like some here. The entire time I was thinking he was going to die as a result of something the son's did. The group seemed to cross paths with him a lot so I thought it was going to be a matter of time until the meeting went badly.

Ugh this show is just too much bad shit now. This show has basically become torture porn the last two seasons so it's pretty hilarious they are breaking up a torture porn ring.

Jesus Christ that was fucking stupid. God what a shite episode. Murder kid out of fucking nowhere. Looking up it seems that this twist caused some major controversy but I have no idea why, it was pretty much some Deus ex machina shit the way it just happened out of nowhere. No build up, no character, no reason at all, just stupid plot twist shoved into the series.

Maybe because I'm not American and don't have the experience with such tragedies, so it might be much more affecting for others. But I have never seen such an appallingly executed twist.

Further stupid occurrences in communication. This has been such a common problem in so many TV shows I am just staggered that writers haven't cottoned on yet: Having characters not communicate vital plot information or just downright refuse to communicate basic stuff because of stupid reasons is just the worst thing. The miscommunication between Jax, Tara, Gemma and the lawyer; it just made me want to punch the screen.

Otherwise the episode was all going ok, i don't understand why they don't just kill Clay off now and the marshal guys reach seems a bit too far, but it could have been a nice season opener. Oh well

Not too impressed with the opener. Lots of stuff happened to set up the season, but it just felt weak and predictable.

Jax boned a motherly figure. Mommy issues, nobody saw that coming.

The one line they left vauge is the relationship, between Navaro/kid/Mom. I mean I figured it out, but there should have been a little more story there.

The school shooting also seemed a little too brash and headline grabby. Oh so edgy. "Oh, no he didn't!" Could have made the "guns in the wrong hands" story much stronger.

All in all, pretty weak.

Holy fuck at the school shooting. I loved the idea, not so much the realization. Call me a sick fuck, but I think "random shooting sound + blood on the window" is pretty ridiculous. You want to go big? Then go REALLY big. Show that kid shooting a teacher or other kids.

For the rest, it was a bit slow, but I liked it. Lee Toric is awesome. The new characters, especially Peter Weller's, are interesting, and Kim Dickens is fucking h-h-h-hot (I was hoping she was a character in prison with Tara though). Also holy fuck I just realized the lawyer is Calamity Jane from Deadwood. My God.
From the people complaining that this show is "torture porn": what the fuck do you expect? It's more realistic at least. This shit happens, what you gonna do, if you find it offensive maybe it's simply that you don't like to see graphic scenes like this. Nothing Oz ever didn't before, anyway, I mean assrape was pretty common.
I think the only problem with the show is that it has too many characters playing at the same moment, especially if someone like Unser and Juice are useless like this. Unser especially, really he should have died like two seasons ago.
I surprisingly liked Tara in this episode. That last scene with her was pretty basic but it worked.
I hope this season goes all the way anyway, it's been on a limbo for the past two years to be honest, now I need to see the hate all these characters share explode in a fucking gory outburst.

Also what about Danny Trejo? Is he still on the show? I haven't heard news about that.

I loved some of the comments on Facebook and stuff:

"No the shooting wasn't in poor taste, it's Sutter guyz!!!1
But Jax shouldn't have cheated Tara OH MY GOD SO RAW YOU BASTARD"

People really need to chill the fuck out about the school shooting.

There has been far worse shows depecitiinging the same thing.

I remember school shooting only in Utopia recently. And it was far more graphic (that's why I would've preferred SOA to go all the way).

I was reading waaaaaaaay too much into it during the episode.

Since he was carrying around a notebook and showing up at all the major plot point locations, I thought it was some supposed to be some "deep shit." Thought it was foreshadowing Jax's death in a couple years and it was his youngest son grown up, reading his letters, and trying to piece together the events of his eventual demise.

But nope, it was all just there so the cops can end up figuring out where the gun came from (Navarro -> Nero -> Sons).

She's been in a ton of stuff. Was also great in Friday Night Lights.

Decent enough episode. Don't really have much more to say, the show doesn't inspire me to think about it afterwards to much, though I definitely enjoy it while its on.

So many story threads laid out in the premiere. Every character is practically dealing with their own problems. It's going to be a very busy season.

Jax was just looking for release and Tara not wanting to see him exacerbated that, but that's still no excuse.

Jax made a deal with Tara that he would never cheat. She knew what kind of lifestyle came with the club, but she made it clear to him before she got more involved. And I'm pretty sure Jax has actually kept to this the entire time So for him to cave in on this, especially when her life is ruined now for his stupid club (she basically risked her career and life so her husband wouldnt be in jail) - and now he's out banging a hooker just because he's angry she won't talk to him.

LOL

And if we know anything about Jax, he's just going to keep going down a darker path. So I don't see their marriage ending well (I wouldn't be surprised if it culminates to him beating her, and the realization he's Clay.)

One thing I never understood about this show, is the journals Jax writes. Almost every time he says something in his journal, it contradicts his actual actions. The journal to me, is what old Jax would have done. Doesn't really make sense to me that corrupt Jax is still writing about deep aspects of life lol

that school shooting was dumb. not because it was a school shooting, but because it has no relevance and you saw something coming from a mile away. Random kid with no ties to anyone is shown at least 5 times throughout the episode.

this show is absolute garbage now and they just put shit in for the hell of it. Oh cool, it's Dave Navarro's son. he isn't even a minor character so how this factors into the show seems beyond me, and judging by the series' history, it'll be some shitty forced story arc.

Gotta say, being in a whorehouse is the best/worst place to hear that your wife doesn't want to see or speak to you. Jax chose poorly, as usual.

Does anyone remember Tate's shooting in the first season of AHS? Where was the outrage over that?

The premier was perfectly tasteful. A lot of people getting worked up over nothing. You know when NBC refused to air episode 4 of Hannibal because it featured kids and violence? You people are the reason we can't have nice things.

That happened before Sandy Hook. Now people are outraged because of that incident (especially because it involved children). Tates was mirroring Columbine, and that was 1999 teenager stuff.

If factors in because of where they got the guns.

I have no issue with it, logistically. The whole point is, SAMCRO has been dealing in a dirty business. They have sold their soul to the devil when dealing guns. And now they have to pay the price for bringing their guns to the streets. So I have no issue with a kid shooting up a school (something that happens) - and the gun he got was one the club sold. My issue more then anything, is that he's related to Navarros girl. That he just happened to be connected to everyone walking around town. Just the entire execution of it was silly and contrived. Made the ending feel preachy, and over done. Had they just had the school shooting IMO it would have had more impact. It would have left the audience confused, but then in the next episode you bring up the fact that the gun was sold by the club, and the Feds are coming down on them because of it. Especially since it's a story all over the media, and it brings DIRECT attention to the club (more so than ever before).

Just a way to kill Navarro or set him up for the fall. I can't see him having too major of a part in the season. Did he have more than one line of dialogue last night?
