Sony confirms at least 3 seasons for Concord and preload is live!

Because at the time I was under the assumption the beta was for pre-orders.

None. It's just €40.

And my curiosity outweighed the money.
In that case: :messenger_horns:

To be fair in my local gamestore I pre-order without putting any money down, the only time I ever need put money down when pre-ordering consoles and you can just put $50 down for that.
Pre-ordering without putting money down is fine imo. For consoles it makes sense

But I'm just busting peoples balls on pre-ordering. Do what you have to do. It's not my money 🤸🏽🤷‍♂️

I don't see how people care about how others spend their money?

Like that Kyozz guy that went mental over my Concord pre-order.
That itself made it worth the pre-order. Lol

I bought many "questionable/low review scores" games at or close to launch and enjoyed them a lot,
Most crazy example would probably be this one https://www.metacritic.com/game/star-ocean-integrity-and-faithlessness/

So even tho im not a fan of gaas woke game like concord, will never bash nor tell u what u can do with ur hard earned money, gl and will check ur impressions after launch :P

I can see myself pre-ordering those games too if reviews turn out to be good. Pre-ordering a day before release is still pre-ordering right? 🤣

I certainly got my eye on Metaphor and Wilds. I doubt those games will fail.

Why does ResetERA have so many of these faceless shill accounts? How is Halo Infinite a good barometer when that game died in under two months (not to mention, dropped off the NPDs after its debut month)?

I am absolutely convinced there's some degree of console warring and brigading from people who don't want to see SIE have an evergreen GAAS involved in the Concord drama. Those people would probably rather SIE be dependent on Microsoft for a huge chunk of their gaming revenue, because they probably are still entertaining the fantasy that MS leverages that to contort PlayStation to their wants & needs, or suddenly go all-in back on console hardware and foreclose on PlayStation with all of the content MS's consolidated over the past several years. It's peak corporate consumerist stanning and it's rather disgusting coming from a forum that lies about being socially progressive.

But anyway...

Even knowing that's a big element in the Concord hate (and the recent Helldivers 2 criticisms, and the Bungie drama)...even just objectively speaking and ignoring all that garbage, Concord has a very tough time ahead of itself. The betas didn't do a lot for the game; SIE seems full-steam ahead launching as-is even if IMO the game'd be better served with a 12-month delay to tidy up the weaker character designs and make some adjustments to the UI & certain modes. It is what it is, I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Woke and hate the rainbow title-screen and Woke characters of Concord, but I liked the gameplay, so there's that.

But if they decide to ignore the criticism and keep going alphabetic, I wouldn't care if they got shut down.

I'm not oblivious to all the criticism. Lol

Those 3 seasons could be literally 10-20 devs working on keeping game running, lets wait for launch/2weeks after to get definitive playerscount numbers, lets see if sony/game dev continue with meaningless milestones insteaded of copies sold/players, we can even check uk sales chart, then NA sales, by then so max 2 months after launch it will be clear how big of a flop that game was.

I already pr-ordered Metaphor and waiting Monster Hunter Wild to be available. I dont need reviews to tell me if those games are worth it or not.

I played all of Hashino's games and I loved all of them and I can't think of single MH game that was out right bad game.

These days I trust my taste over reviews and so far it hasn't failed me.

Halo is a massive franchise and the beta was free. There's no way Concord will remotely get close to these numbers unless they go on Twitter with something unbeliveable like 'We are delaying the game for 6 months to redesign our characters into sexy bitches and sexy men'

I get the sense that they have no intent on budging with the character designs. Which I can see from their perspective - their game, their choice. However, it's also true that some designs are not resonating with their potential audience/customers. It leads to a problem with first impressions and may cause some people not to delve further. People who have played have expressed approval for the game play, though, so it will be interesting to see how the game ultimately does.

Litteraly not one gamer (who actually buy things with his own money, I am not talking about those "journalists" who get those for free) asked for this. And thinking they even made custom (unsold) Dualsenses for that shit.

On the other hand they thought only a few people were interested into buying that incredibly sexy Astrobot controller, an IP loved by litteraly millions of gamers (ready to buy anything from that brand) AND they let those fucking bot scalpers buy all the stock they wanted in a few seconds.

Those woke corporations deserve to die.

Bolded is what makes me curious to see what will happen.

Halo was a massive franchise; nowadays it's a shell of its former self and is seen as a meme than something taken seriously. The terrible Paramount show didn't help in that regard, either. Though it does still have a brand name to it many other games would die to have a fraction of. Just to me, Halo these days is kind of where Sonic was in the late '00s/early 2010s. "Well known" but not for the best of reasons.

I do think the betas for Concord did better on PS5 than Steam but how much better is likely not by very much. But I agree, if they did announce a delay and did a sneak peek with sexy character redesigns that'd generate a metric ton of goodwill and interest.

Redesigns work after all when they listen to audiences. Did wonders for the Sonic film.

Exactly, and as you were getting at the problem with this approach is that first impressions mean A LOT. If the designs aren't necessarily appealing, they're cutting their potential interested audience (including those who typically have large amounts of spending power, i.e the "whales") off right then and there.

It's like if a fighting game had the best mechanics in the world, but everyone were stick figures. The game'd be lucky to sell 10K. In fact in a not-as-exaggerated way that's kinda what hurt Virtua Fighter in the West IMO before VF4 (well that and being on dead consoles like Saturn & Dreamcast). Its characters didn't have the "modern" design problems that people in the culture war love using, but they were visually bland compared to games like Toshindan and Tekken.

Tekken eventually got to a point where the designs became extremely cool (Tekken 3) and that fed back into the overall style of the game. No wonder the IP blew up in popularity around that time, something Virtua Fighter didn't get a taste for outside of Japan until VF4 on PS2.

Concord's problems are a lot more severe with character designs than Virtua Fighter's ever was, but again ignoring some of the "modern-day" fluff, the core is quite similar.

Sure, but they were already working on Concord when Sony acquired them, so for now it's what it is.
Everyone says the gameplay is good. Just keep the movement and locomotion. Delete all the character assets. I'm sure some of the environments are usable or at least the textures.

Perfect example of why art and character design matter just as much as gameplay is when you compare player counts of Nidhogg I vs II. II's gameplay was almost universally lauded, but for some weird reason it's peaks are almost 85% lower than the original.

Yeah.

Sony is jealous seeing the Borderlands movie getting all the hate and mockery, they want some of that publicity for themselves.

Add it to the ever increasing list of AAA games everyone knows will flop before it launches.

- Skull and Bones
- Suicide Squad
- Gotham Knights
- Forspoken
- Foamstars
- Redfall
- Starfield
- Hellblade 2
Updated it. More to come.

I like games. I like new games. I want new games to thrive. This ain't it.

Does no one in charge of this game know of the sunk cost fallacy? The whole thing stinks of people just trying to keep the money flowing so as to keep their job for as long as possible regardless of the outcome.

Will this get shut down right before the new fiscal year like Anthem? The April date on the road map may not be coincidental. It gives them an out to change or shutter the game.

Listen....if they don't end up delivering this, I don't want to hear shit about folks crying over EA / DICE support of the BF series.

BF 2042 support

This is actually getting sad. Go look at the official Concord twitter. They're a big AAA Sony game and their tweets get like 4-10 replies and it's all trolls. Add it to the ever increasing list of AAA games everyone knows will flop before it launches.

- Suicide Squad

- etc

Will the servers still be up in 18 months? I wouldn't bet on it
Don't know about the rest but if Skull and bones got proper post launch support like Sea of thieves it would be big. Have they given up on it?
