That's early.

So no Sony breakfast? :lol

The Sony Pictures Studio (Culver City) is a ways away from the Convention Center in downtown L.A.

Methinks Sony is going to have a massive unveiling with a lot of razzle dazzle.

Sounds like going to be alot fun. Hope you guys have good time, I know I die be there and rest of you say mmhaw... :lol

No, it's not the same place. Before I think it was held at LA Center Studios or something? Very close to the Convention Center in downtown L.A.

Culver City is quite a ways further out West. A good long cab ride to be sure, though maybe they will offer buses. I imagine it's being held on Sony property to save costs--Culver City is where their studio lot and Sony Imageworks (their 3D animation house) is located.

Thanks for the infos, guess they're preparing their own big event there.

What's interesting is that's roughly 5 minutes after Square Enix's E3 Conference is scheduled to end, which takes place over at the Paramount Theatre.

It is better this way. Too much of a rush from Sony to ninteny was a pain in the ass. Now we just have to rush to MS instead. As a bonus we can fuck around on Tuesday though. Hurrah.

techdemo blowout VS tons_of_games :D

Haha, that's probably what we'll get. But if they do have a MGS4 trailer or something in the same calibre, I don't need anything else... :P

Unprobable,MGS4 development started last month.
I expect mainly Sony-Namco-Square tech demos.

Nah - that'll be the N-Gage conference day...

Well we can at least have a rest in the morning. The number of times I tuned up to the joke 9AM Tues Sony conference without being able to see or breath properly... a few hours extra while waiting for Nintendo to start will do the job nicely

Wow, I'm really surprised they want to go before MS. Unless it's a typo?

If true, I would think it's because they will not have a lot of specifics to offer and therefore (1) are not concerned about being one-upped by MS, and (2) will look less blah if they go first as opposed to following a highly substantive presentation by Microsoft.

[/pointless speculation]

The good news is that you'll get a nice mini-tour of the old Columbia Pictures lot heading in to the presentation. :)

It's not like anything announced on these conferences is absolutely set in stone. Even MS will have time to re-evaluate their hardware with late 2005 launch, Sony even more so (that goes for example for the amount of RAM, or the inclusion of HDD)

Neat. I gotta see all conferences. Eventhough I dont care a shit about GC or DS I gotta see it for Reggie :lol

If this is PS3's first debut, it has to, and will be, Sony's biggest event ever.

EGM: What will we see at this debut?

KH: If I told you, I think Kutaragi would take me and you out to the parking lot and shoot us. [Laughs] But, no - joking aside, we've not really talked that much in detail about [the debut], both internally and externally. I can promise that it'll be a huge event.

They didn't reveal it at the end of March. But hey, he did say it'll be a huge event! :)

Why save cost for such an important event?
I bet Sony Pictures or Sony Imageworks has something to show for the PS3.

Wait... wouldn't it be an extremely bad idea for Sony to do that, then? Folks can't attend both, and square-ENIX is supposed to be a valuable partner...

It might also be space concerns... Sony's conference is usually the most restrictive on the guest list, in part because the L.A. Center Studios location is the smallest out of the three conference venues the hardware companies use.

They probably have a bigger hall in Culver City.

Isn't Sound Stage 27 where the Wizard of Oz was filmed?

It is.

The size of the room is 134' x 237' x 50-80'

It not their biggest stage, but it is their tallest.
