This was one of the most genuinely bizarre conferences i've ever seen.

All of that happened in one conference.

This, I feel for ms, they do what people always moan about, exclusives, new ip, big games, 360 games, new ui, etc and people say it was boring.

Sony show a couple of exusives, go on about getting dlc first and show a kickstarter and a remake and they are the second coming.

Seems to me that the gaming world still has Sonys dick deep in their mouths.

No Mans Sky does look awesome but, maybe I just am not to interested in the giant dog game and shenmu (or what ever it is)

Lmao.

Cheering for a Kickstarter...

You guys thought Remasters were bad?

Hope you're ready for every major publisher to now push the kickstarter angle. This conference just legitimized the idea.

ANY other company does this, everyone would be screaming. Bizarro-land.

Sony E3 2013 might forever remain untoppable in terms of impact, but this is definitely the best E3 show i've ever seen in my life. Simply stunning.

How long has it been since our crazy predictions actually came true? Jesus, TLG, FF7R and Shenmue3...wtf.

Add to that the amazing showcases from the likes of Horizon, Dream, UC4, etc and this is without doubt a 9/10 show at the very least. The only disappointment is the lack of SSM announcement but there's really no need to drop that bomb here.

Awesome show this year. E3 so far for me:

1 NWC / Sony
One for the generall goodfeel, the other for the pure fanfic of announced games. Unfortunately only few exclusives when you think about it. But goddamn i need Horizon.

2 Ubi / Bethesda
3 MS
4 EA

Lets see how, when and where FF7 shows up.

I think some people here still haven't grasped the magnitude of this yet:

  • The Last Guardian, the game GAF has been wanting since 2009 and ask desperately asked for every year has returned.
  • The FF7 remake not only is a thing after nearly ten years, it's a timed exclusive on PS4.
  • Shemue 3, one of the biggest cult hits of all time, is finally seeing a new release after 15 years and at the rate it's going, will become the most funded Kickstarter game of all time.
  • MS made a huge name for itself last gen by partnering with CoD. Now the game has timed DLC on PS4. And Battlefront, the only game this year that has a shot at beating CoD, has a Destiny-level partnership with Sony.

For those of you complaining about first party exclusives, compare the Uncharted 4 and Horizon demos to the Halo 5, Gears 4, and Tomb Raider ones. The former featured actual impressive gameplay with amazing graphics and the latter two were blatantly linear and filled with slow walking.

I can't believe people think that the 2 million Kickstarter campaign is what's going to finance shenmue 3.

Common guys, have some common sense. The campaign is just to raise awareness about the project and to give fans a chance to participate on the development of the game.

If you seriously believe that 2 million is sufficient to fund a sequel to a adventure game as big as shenmue 2 (they said this game is not a spinoff), I don't know what to say.

I totally get the cultural relevance of some of this stuff, but I still feel so left out of the hype. I couldn't care less about TLG, I'm old enough to still think of FF7 as the first shitty FF, I've never played a Shenmue, I'm not a fan of CoD or Uncharted, Mm's game looks too bizarre to judge yet, and NMS still looks like beautiful emptiness.

That Monster Hunter clone looked ok.

Amazing conference for giving people what they asked for, though.

WHAT! Is this real life? I was out for dinner during the conference, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I came back and read the summary. Thought I was losing my mind when I saw FFVII remake, and then I find out there was also Shenmue 4 AND Last Guardian news! WHHHAAATTT! I really wish I hadn't missed this conference.

I don't really care about Shenmue or TLG myself, but I never thought I'd ever see TLG, Shenmue 3 and a FF VII remake get announced during the same conference. Sony summoned meteor and won the entire show. Uncharted 4 and Horizon is just icing on the cake.

As someone who doesnt buy many games...I saw a lot of games I want from this Sony conference. Well done. Dreams looks incredible. That big dog from TLG is amazing. Dino robots. FFVII. Park ranger dude...and I missed some of the show too. Think I'll get all 5 of those games.

On one hand, the conference had a ton of awesome announcements people (and myself) were waiting for, which is awesome.

On the other hand, it didn't give me any reason to purchase a PS4 in 2015. Almost every new thing they showed was 2016 and beyond, which was disappointing.

So... my thoughts are mixed.

Sony definitely seemed to have 2016 square up for a big run, but so much was so far off in the horizon. TLG/FF7 don't excite me that much right now - I won't believe either is real until they're actually out, and FF7 is a game I wasn't gaga over the first time through. I enjoyed it, but it was a solid B game to me. TLG doesn't looking like it changed all that much and again, I'll believe it when it goes gold. UC4 looks good, look forward to seeing how that turns out. A lot of the rest was cross not exclusive.

Horizon: Zero Dawn looked incredibly promising and completely out of left field. I hope that one turns out great and that was really the highlight from what I saw.

Solid A- looking at it as objectively as I can.
B-ish for me personally.

Why are people associating the revival of Shenmue with Sony? It's a multiplat based on a kickstarter that has nothing to do with Sony or Playstation. This type of announcement doesn't affect the conference grade if you ask me.

Shenmue appearing on PC too negates the game for me as a reason to buy PS4. I wanted Sony to show me why I need to buy PS4.

Oh come on. DO you really think that $2 is all it takes to makes that game? Sony cut them a fairly substantial check.

Amazed people are trying to downplay this conference.

Between this and MS it almost looks like MS doesn't even know what it's doing in this industry.

Sony: Here are all of your dreams and prayers answered
MS: You can play your old 360 games, but worse

The conference was a 10/10 for me in the first 10 minutes. All that needed to happen was The Last Guardian showing up, and that sealed the deal. It looked great too, which is a relief. Seems like an evolution of ICO with a partner that is actually useful and awesome this time.

This is why I'm chuckling and confused.

There was a few cool new IPs showed but the rest was kind of... whatever.

on par with Microsoft I guess

That is what makes me uneasy. They are catering to what the fans want, which is great and I am truly excited for Shenmue 3, but what is in store for the PS4 in 2016 besides Uncharted 4? I wish they showed more of what is coming out now than what may come out in 2017 and beyond..

I mean, It's not like we don't have enough to play. With Fallout 4, Rock Band, Battlefront, etc, there is plenty to play this year. But It's pretty dissapointing to see their biggest games announced (TLG and Horizon) one with a release date of 2016 and the other one not even a window of release for it.

I was excited for TLG 5 years algo. They can't be serious if they expect me to be excited about a game that should have come out for PS3.

Oh, and thank you for spoiling me Arkham Knight, a game that's coming out in 7 fucking days.

Tearaway.

You must be angry at Microsoft for the lack of games for the whole year before holidays.

I only have a PS4 and don't plan to own an Xbox One for the foreseable future. What is the point of your post again?

Absolutely insane. FF VII... TLG... Shenmue? Neogaf dream come true!

I also wish they would have showed more indies... Or given more release dates for any of the many games I'm looking forward to!
