Sony E3 Conference 2016 |OT|

What are you most excited for?

Results are only viewable after voting.
I'm glad both conferences were about games this year. A lot of trailers and hopefully MS and Sony stick to their guns with decent release windows.

so we had god of the last of us of war (now with rpg elements) followed by the last of us (with bikers) followed by an open world game with loot and crafting

modern video games

excited for re7 though

Kind of bored by most of the games, but I definitely appreciate that they didn't waste a bunch of time. Trailer after trailer after trailer with the occasionally stop to say a few words before it starts again. It's simple, but it works, and it easily made it the best conference so far.

Loved the live music, too.

The VR stuff put me to sleep much like Microsoft's Minecraft stuff. Sony had a great show along with MS. I didn't have interest in every game from both companies, but I'd say it's a tie. Both did really well today

Cold blooded😂

Maybe we don't like these kind of games? lol

Honestly the most interesting thing I've seen all day is We Happy Few. I hope that's multi-plat as I don't own an X1. Horizon admittedly looks fucking cool but GG has never made a game I enjoyed.

I've got the VR preordered but we'll see how much I'm digging it next week when they have demo kiosks at Best Buy.

We Happy Few was a PC exclusive until they participated ID@Xbox. Not sure what deal they got with the program for keeping it a console exclusive.

Hey Sony, next time link us to a youtube playlist and save some money. Great games, lackluster conference.

Do you really want to see awkward middle aged men tell us why we should be excited? Lol.

They didn't have to speak much, because they had games to show. I felt the conference was very classy. When you have more to show, you don't have to talk as much.

Klepeck has a point on twitter: Microsoft showed off more stuff we'll actually be playing soon. Sony's conference was mostly spectacle. Most of Sony's games won't have real release dates for a while, probably won't be out before next E3.

Halo 2017
Crackdown 2017
Sea of thieves 2017
Scalebound 2017

I'm not sure... is COD:IW PSVR compatible??? they were talking about PSVR games... then COD and then Crash... so I'm not sure if the PSVR segment ewas over before COD or not...

I loved the show, but I feel like "The Last Guardian" was presented underwhelmingly, considering its lineage and pedigree.

Also, Hideo Kojima's game was literally indecipherable based on the trailer. It looks like the same kind of weird, Japanese marketing made for Metal Gear Solid 2, except utilizing Norman Reedus instead of Gackt.

And one more thing, Resident Evil 7 looks incredible - but is it first person only on Playstation VR, or is it third/first-person on PlayStation 4?!? Is this going to be a full-length game, or is it just a short experience?!? When will we find out more information on this?

Also, I hope they don't dumb-down the graphics for the PlayStation 4 game, due to it being a VR title also.

That was excellent. I could easily see myself buying all those games. My only complaint is that it felt a bit on the short side. If this was MS people would be bitching and moaning.

Oh please. If that's the case just link us to some YT videos or do the treehouse shit. A conference should be about the spectacle as well.

Oh you mean when they fucking billy-jeaned Kojima out there with a booming orchestra?

I thought they blended it really well.

Best conference of the show by far and best Sony showing since the unveiling of the PS4. It did what it was supposed to do, which is reaffirm people's purchase decision and promise a lot of great looking games to come.

This show put the MS one to shame. Sony did the smartest and most logical thing they possibly could've, which is reassure gamers confidence in THIS GEN as opposed to the next .5 one or whatever-the-fuck.

Fuck the future, gamers want to be satisfied now and Sony showed why now is the best time to own a PS4.

All I can say is that I got what I wanted out of that conference. I felt like a kid again for a little over an hour. Thats all I wanted. I got it. Im happy.

I own both consoles, I like the experiences that studios output on both.
Horizon Zero Dawn interests me a great deal, visually and artistically. But in the trailers when anyone talks it's absolutely cringe. I hope it's fleshed out better in the actual game.

Kojima title looks weird as fuck and that's why we love Kojima. Looking forward to seeing more about it.

The Last Guardian trailer was pretty good. I loved the music and I'm glad we got a release date. That Spiderman game shows promise too. I hope it's as fun as the Spiderman 2 game. Overall a pretty good presentation.

It lacked the HOLY SHIT-tier announcements of last year, but I appreciated the back-to-back trailers rather than the "introduction, trailer, dev interview/monologue, maybe some live gameplay" structure of other conferences where they spend more time talking than showing games. The only thing I'd like to have seen is trailers for Persona 5 and Gravity Rush 2 (which they had, but for whatever reason didn't show?)

Also aren't Sony's conferences usually 2 hours? I was a little surprised when this ended after one.

Cool stuff: Spiderman was a little too quick-time event-y but we'll see how the actual game is, Spiderman lends itself better to action games than almost any other superhero property so I really want this to be good. The Last Guardian looked gorgeous and full of bloom, just what I expect from Team Ico. Infinite Warfare actually looked interesting and fun and I haven't thought that about a Call of Duty game since CoD4.

The rest...

Horizon was disappointing, just your standard Westernized casual action stuff that doesn't give the monsters and equipment proper presence/weight. It looked pretty as hell, but the amount of slowdown and such going on is a drag when I was really hoping for a Monster Hunter style adventure game with robots and a huge budget.

God of War looked...I don't even know? I never really cared about the other games (got halfway through GoW 1 before getting bored with it), and this didn't look particularly impressive as far as action gameplay went.

Didn't really care about VR other than Infinite Warfare, everything else looked like a tech demo or a spinoff of a "proper" game.

Resident Evil I'll wait for demo impressions/recordings, the trailer didn't really show that much off.

I couldn't care less about another 3rd person action shootmans game who's only features seem to be "it's prettier" and "more zombies".

The lack of anything niche was disappointing. Not even Gravity Rush 2 or Persona 5 made it to the stage and the complete (?) lack of indie titles is bewildering.

YOu were expecting a monster hunter type game out of horizon even though they have been pretty clear about it since the start? kinda weird.

The VR stuff put me to sleep much like Microsoft's Minecraft stuff. Sony had a great show along with MS. I didn't have interest in every game from both companies, but I'd say it's a tie. Both did really well today

Absolutely. Both had no shows that seem like they'll be talked about at Gamescom/PGW/PSX and such.

So now comes the part where Sony just dumps a bunch of indie trailers on YouTube... right?

Nice to get dates for Abzu and Bound, but I want more, more, more. I was really hoping we'd get a glimpse of MatterFall gameplay as well.
