The original vision for Warhawk PS3 seems so perfect for the PS4 (though I absolutely love the great multiplayer title we ended up getting instead), and if they announce they're returning to the IP I may just explode.

Oh man, time to start spreading this image all over the internet and starting rumors!
But let's think about this. Dylan Jobe pitched Warhawk 2 to Sony back around last September. Assuming Sony is doing everything right and green lit the project, it would have been in development now for roughly 9 months. So would it be safe to say if we don't see it at this E3 then it pretty much isn't happening? Or would they wait until 2015 to announce it? How many titles wait nearly 2 years before they are announced?

If there is a Warhawk 2 then it's safe to say that it needs to be multiplayer only. Starhawk single player wasn't good and really just felt like a developer tried to build a single player game on multiplayer layouts. They'd been better off just focusing on the multiplayer.

I don't know. I mean the only reason I care about the IP is because of how awesome the multiplayer only Warhawk was, but I still really like the idea for what they wanted to do with it's singleplayer. Essentially put the player in a really large open-world type sandbox with lots of infantry, armored vehicles, aircrafts, and carriers all over the place. Maybe not as large as open worlds from most games but definitely much larger than the full maps of Warhawk PS3. Then give the player a bunch of objectives to complete, and you are free to accomplish these however you want. Hop in a Warhawk, fly around for maybe 10 minutes, get a bit tired so you land on the ground and hop in a tank, do that for several minutes then maybe hop back into a Warhawk or maybe go do some infantry work. Just whatever you feel like. Then load up a new map/environment and do it again. If done right it could be a really, really fun and unique experience.
But definitely put the emphasis on multiplayer first, and if that means no time for anything else then so be it.

The issue with reviving Warhawk is that technically, Planetside 2 covers a similar itch in the experience that it delivers.

Never seen those concept images before, such a fun and simple game.
A PS4 version of Warhawk would be a dream come true, just port over all the maps and vehicles in a single package. Everyone having a microphone would help as well as barely anyone talked to each other before.
I'd even buy the entire game again, I wouldn't mind paying extra for a game of Warhawks quality.
