I apologise, but I'm going to preach a little here.

This is a new gen launch. In an industry where we are diversifying way too much, delivering way too little and making it way too hard for people to enjoy gaming for what it is, it is a chance to stop and reset. Above all, it's a chance to show the gaming community what game creators, system designers and industry leaders have learnt since 2005.

For Sony, it is as much a revitalisation of their industry as well as a chance to show it still belongs in this game. Everyone at Sony knows they dropped the ball this gen and many inside have been waiting a long time to rectify that. I spoke to a dev in Frankfurt last month who admitted that almost everything that has gone wrong with his studios games has been a result of trying to force games down strictly defined paths brought on by limited hardware and mostly, really bad ideas. He wants gamers to reconnect, to feel enthusiastic again and he wants Sony to start making fun games once more.

Hyperbole? Maybe. I guess the proof is coming soon. I have seen much to keep me very optimistic. But the chance to reconnect with gamers again will have Sony and MS showing more than just titles for this holiday launch. Everyone remembers 2005 and 2006 E3's as setting up the consoles for this gen. So will this E3 define the start of next gen.

In Sony's case, it's about redemption.
Hear hear! Can't freaking wait.
Just answer me this question based on your personal knowledge: Will the conference be sexy?

Nier OST.
I respectfully disagree, but Nier was up there.

OT: I think the console will make WW launch, at least in major territories. I'm pretty sure November is their targeted launch date.

I can't wait to see gameplay of some more first party games. I have a feeling Ready at Dawns game is going to be a nice surprise and I can see Sony positioning it as the new Uncharted (it's an action adventure heavily inspired by uncharted 2).

Time to list up some predictions

-Some jazz about PS3 and Vita, pricecuts, trailer reel for upcoming games etc.
-PS4 Price
-2013 WW release november/december
-More on Knack, KZ:SF, Infamous and Driveclub
-Ready at Dawn new IP
-Santa Monica new IP
-Gran Turismo 6 PS3/PS4?
-Final Fantasy XV PS4
-Final Fantasy Type-0 localized Vita Port
-Gravity Rush 2 Vita
-The Last Guardian PS4

But yeah, a lot of that will probably not happen but i bet this E3 is still going to be a lot of fun, bring it Sony!
You forgot the Media Molecule project, which is going to be awesome. And Uncharted 4.

That thing didn't look anywhere close to a game. Wasn't that what they also said? Ugh Uncharted 4. Hopefully that franchise is gone for good (okay I wouldn't mind Golden Abyss 2)

I'd bet Uncharted 4 is a no show. Last of Us is out later in the week and the VGAs has become the new stage for ND game reveals. They already have so much to show, so I think they hold some stuff back to keep hype building.

i actually doubt they will announce the price at E3. They will show the console and new games only.

I dunno man, both PS3 and Vita got price info at E3 and Vita didn't even release that year in the US. I think if they have a good price point (399) they definately want to get that out at E3 if they are confident they can top MS (rumoured 499 but who knows).

aww yea next gen is almost here i hope that they can keep the leaks in check this time sony doesn't have the best track record with these things

Yeah sorry about MM but i don't think ND are ready to unveil their new game yet, might be saving that for next year. Same with Guerillas new IP.

I hope so. Do your best and impress us, Sony!

E3 night is the best night of the year.

3am for the Sony conference is cool. Pretty sure it was the same last year. Just taking the Tuesday off work and all is fine.

Gonna need 2 catch up threads! 6PM for Microsoft means I'll be at work, and 2AM for Sony means I'll be asleep.

The conference's will likely be youtube'd in their entirety pretty soon after right?

Are Killzone,Knack,Drive Club and Infamous really the games which show that they are out for 'redemption'? I'm not saying they're the only first party PS4 games Sony will show but they showed nothing at the unveil to match the talk here.

I guess people are thinking that as those aren't from Sony's top studios, that Sony's got even better stuff for E3, from Polyphony, Naughty Dog, and Santa Monica.

PD is seemingly working on GT6 which is likely to be a PS3 exclusive and ND is unlikely to show UC4 as their B team just shipped UC3 1.5 years ago and TLOU which is by their A team is out soon,as for SSM's A team I think they'll finally show their new IP.

Naughty Dog first revealed Uncharted at E3 2006, which was only about 6 months after the release of Jak X, and a year and a half before the game released. Granted, I doubt they'd show off a new Uncharted that early again

Anything next gen showed by ND be it UC4 or a new IP would really be hype .
Sony should show something from them would be a plus for the system .

One or two are okay I think. As long as they don't label them as "launch window" games.
If they just absolutely have to show them I hope they at least mention that they'll release in 2014,games which are out further than that can absolutely GTFO.

I'm so excited for this!!!

I'm hoping for playable demos from the February conference, FF15 or Versus, some BF4 and destiny footage running on ps4, and dream goal is DSII announced for ps4 with higher resolution and textures.

Sony has a bad rep of doing logo announcements....

I think you are really underestimating Sony , I mean a small team like Sucker Punch which brought out Infamous 2 on June 2011 already has something to show for PS4.
Sony has enough devs \ partners to show off 5 to 10 games easy just from them alone without 3rd party .

Kaz is going to walk out, smile, and announce GT6 for the PS3 launching in September of 2013, and then the other Kaz is going to walk out, smile, and announce GT7 as a launch title for the PS4.
