$349 was a figure that was thrown around a long while back, just so you all know. In that respect, it shouldn't be so unbelievable. Their price range is finalised now. I think everyone will be satisfied with it. The name of the game is what is necessary.

Verendus, can you talk about whether online multiplayer will stay free or going the XBL route?
I know Kagari thinks all that's free on PS3 will stay free on PS4 but famousmortimer made a thread because he heard multiplayer is being put behind a paywall (although that was a few months ago).

While you're right that they have no shame, 99% of the people who are going to buy Madden don't give a fuuuuck about that kind of thing.

Not entirely true. When there was competition in the football marketplace, something scared EA enough to buy up their monopoly. That scary thing was choice. And while we pretend to know the every thought of every Joe-blow gamer out there in Maddenland, the one thing this industry should have taught us by now is that, you cannot just assume the outcome based on what's happened in the past, or what's popular in the present. And that Joe blow's support is not a given when given choice... that given choice consumers will do surprising things.

It might appear that they don't give a fuck atm, but it's only because they have no choice. If you want the NFL, it's EA or nothing. I buy Madden. Every year. And every year I ask myself why. And it's because I want the NFL, and it's my only way to get it. If you put two different versions of the NFL out there, it might be surprising how many really do evaluate their options.

Face would melt. I know we like to say FFVII can't be redone because the update would make the game lose its charm but do you know how much of a gigaton a remake of that game would be exclusive to PS4? Sony would automatically win imo just from the sheer fandom alone.

That can't be right. I remember buying a 40gb fat PS3 in Q2 2007 with CoD4 and GTA4 for £400+ from Argos.

I full expect the PS4 to launch at £330 in the UK. £300 would be "holy shit balls Sony is going HAM".

Both the opening and ending montages for the PS4 conference were the best Sony ever made imo. They are so well put together, whoever made them deserve some credit.
