Really? Their most likely giving us another Final Fantasy, can you people relax?
FPS's are the cornerstone of these generations of consoles and whether you guys like it or not they define the system. Xbox was very successful because of Halo and the COD association that MS was able to develop. You can't blame them for trying to achieve the same thing.
I think they've learned and are going to deliver a wider variety of games but seriously there is no need for this.

If this game ever comes out, I'd probably buy it to support the devs, but I don't think I'd ever actually play it because I just know the ending's gonna make me cry just as hard as the ending of Jurassic Bark.

That would be odd though. Having two different Final Fantasy 7s? I don't know.
The numbers signify the long legacy of the franchise, and it's something to be proud of. I feel they should continue as they are.
The Bond films don't have anything other than subtitles, it's not like anyone forgets it's a long running series.

I did not get the day off on Tuesday, but i got a short day (4 hours). I will sleep at 10 and then wake up at 2:45 before the Sony conference and then stay up and go to work. Getting these hours of sleep is really important.

Well, even Yoshida said that he didn't want the PS4 to be known as a FPS box. With that said, as long as it isn't another heavily scripted and linear shooter I don't think that it'd be so bad. That genre needs a serious redirection next-gen.

Its not just middle eastern. it's his name "shahid". We go to many places for medical needs area and he always get detained and ask question because his name was "shahid" and for some reason it was blacked balled in there system. he eventually had to get a letter from Washington because it was getting so bad. BTW 90% of our team was middle eastern orgin and it was always him getting detained/stopped.

Nah, they'll keep going to XX at least. Or maybe XX is where they ditch the current numbers and make Shin/New Final Fantasy.
Or maybe they split the line and have Final Fantasy Future for the sci-fi side and Final Fantasy Classic for the more medieval fantasy.
And we should at least give SSM a chance to show what they have before immediately dismissing it. We know they are a good studio.

Given the subtitles they come up with (Lightning Returns, 358/2 Days etc.), I just don't think it's a good idea.

Ya it's really sad he and others have to go through that. I feel bad for the guy, he expects, his fellow travelers expect it to happen probably, but it has to be so damn embarrassing going through that every time.

I'm not dismissing it. But I think that the reaction to it possibly being a FPS is just an indication of how tired people are of the current direction of the genre. Just look at the recent reactions to the Killzone and Battlefield unveiling. Both are gorgeous, but they seemed so similar to what we had this gen. Both seemed very linear and very scripted. One reason something like Destiny is managing to grab attention is because it's about as far away from the CoD model as you can get.

Anyone know the best website or link to go to for a video of the conference after it's ended? I may have to work tomorrow when Sony's goes up and I want to come home and watch the video first without being spoiled of anything else. I'm not sure if that's possible though lol. Once I go to ign website to see the conference video I'm sure the PS4 image will be splashed everywhere. Hopefully I don't have to work then I can just chill and enjoy with everyone else on gaf (until gateway errors).

It feels pretty horrible. Im not middle eastern, but Indian, and im only 20 and have lived 95% of my life in Canada. I still get checked sometimes and my dad almost always even though we've never even been to the middle east. They once even check my little brother and at that point I've never been more angry then I was then.

Oh man I hate that episode too, it always reminds me of my cat who liked me a lot, but I was forced to give him away.

Maybe it will be just over 20k. Mods have been known to leave topics open for a little over 20k posts maybe even up to 21. Besides, it will be so close to the conference itself that I would think it'd be pointless to make another thread so close to the actual presser.
Adn 50 posts on the EU blog sounds hefty. Big things ahead.

The PSblog will update some time today with their blog plans for E3. One thing that they did mention on the Blogcast is that they're going to try to upload the live demos and interviews mentioned here an hour or so after they show up on the stream.

He's already in. He's been coming and going for YEARS, but this is the first time he actually got in hassle free since 2000. Not that what you said isn't relevant, but he doesn't have anti-US stuff.
Yeah that's true but Sony has tried a number of times to find a successful shooter. Haze, Resistance, Killzone, Uncharted (Yes I do realise I lumped TPS and FPS together)
It would be interesting to see what SSM would come up with but I feel that market is very over saturated already.
