Hey people, do you think will go with some third party exclusives like Microsoft or they put all the strong in own studios again?

3rd party DLC yeah, but I think they'll put most of their money into 1st party. You can bet MS will have some big 3rd parties completely exclusive for a title or two due to their financial superiority over Sony, and it will no doubt cause epic fits. As usual months down the line the shock factor gets diluted though, and it more so becomes what great experiences have I been able to consistently play as the years/months go on?

Sony has a history of nurturing fresh new experiences, and in the long run that's better than blowing your load getting 1 or 2 third parties to place a/a few games in your pocket.

I think its more likely they will remain timed exclusives. MS would have to moneyhat ALOT to have a permanent third party exclusive or maybe fund development and work with the studio.

Doesn't seem likely.

They are more likely to try and foster the studios they own to becoming more capable, like Twisted Pixel.

As long as they keep their paid subscription bullshit, I won't glance in that direction.

Right, Sony will continue to make deals for dlc like they have for Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs. But don't expect any big third party exclusive games since Microsoft's deeper pockets have them beat there.

Gaikai will allow you to stream PS1, PS2 and PS3 titles to your PS4. Eventually.

I'm curious after reading that article, specifically the Move. What would everyone's reactions be if Sony were to include a move & nav controller with every PS4? I've never used the Move, but I've always wanted to try it and including it in the box would be a good way to get it into everyone's hands. It doesn't mean we'd get tacked on gimmicky Move controls into every game, but it's just something to think about.

It'd be a met with a very negative response. I really don't see why they'd do it. Move/Nav aren't free for them, so someone is going to have to eat the price. They're going to be losing money initially on every console that they sell, so why add to that? The people that they're targeting initially, the core gamers, don't give a shit about motion controls. If they want to include it years down the line when they start targeting the casual audience, then that's fine. But if they're really targeting the core gamer then Move has no place in the box.

I thought it was implied that the new eyecam would come with the PS4 and the controller could be used as a move control due to the light on its front.

------------------

also you will need to stock up on faces of House for use in gifs.

It will all be House at E3.

They keep dodging that question, I do hope they include the PS4 Eye with every console so that devs actually use it for their games. I also think it would help Move more than if it was not standard, this way all you would have to buy to play Move games is a Move controller.

But I guess we'll see.

If you do make that thread, I have some ideas.

Same.

For the PS4 box art, I think you need to look no further then the Vita to see how the future of PlayStation will look. I've darkened the top a bit, for it to better stay in line with the blue they used at the conference.

Can the PlayStation 4 Handle SOE's PlanetSide 2? I know it can but how well

Smedley recently tweeted a smily face as a answer to someone who asked this. They have mentioned the PS4 being possible before I believe. It would be really cool to have a free to play mmofps for Ps4.

It's been heavily rumored and hinted. I think it's just a matter of time. I thought they were gonna have a demo on PS4 and PC players playing together and announce it was coming pre installed with every PS4. Would be pretty major IMO. Maybe they'll save that for E3.

If PS2 comes to PS4, it will have a lot of FPS this fall though:

- Planetside 2
- Killzone SF
- Battlefield 4
- COD: Ghosts

Sony conferences are usually around 2 hours long at E3, so I can't imagine it'll be any shorter than that given they have the PS4 to show off.

Microsoft conferences are usually around 90-120 minutes long, so I'm expecting something around that length from both Tuesday and E3.

The Xbox reveal is going to be an 1 hour event, their E3 conference will probably be of the usual length.

Quote from one of the main guys at SOE working on PS2 was something like this when asked about a console version: ''PlS2 wouldn't run on PS3 but that doesn't mean it wouldn't run on something else''. This was some months before PS4 reveal and before the specs bump so of course it should run quite well on it. Also the game is totally coming to PS4, they have hinted at it before.

Nah it will be Trettons time to shine like usual I think.

Tretton have been soloing E3 for a couple of years now, this year though they are showing the PS4 and I think either Kaz, House or Cerny will present the PS4 box.

I could very easily see Bethesda going exclusive to MS with Fallout 4 honestly, with Todd stating his affections for Microsoft numerous times, and Beth asking to be takin off of the PS4 developers list I think they could be a prime candidate for MS to moneyhat a genuine exclusive.

Would be interesting to see FF go exclusive to Sony, and Fallout go exclusive to MS and see how things go. Though despite some stumbling I think FF still probably has more of a broader appeal then Fallout would if it were a true return to form with Versus/XV.

With Fallout it has the problem (for me) that it is another game that probably still would be available for PC. I mean good for me I guess since it would make early adoptation of PS4 easier for me but I just wish MS wouldn't be too lame when it comes to exclusives.

I want MS to succeed with legit great true exclusives ect. Not timed bullshit or PC multiplats or Kinect or Entertainment or DLC deals ect. Same goes for Sony.

House will talk about PS4, just like he talked about Wonderbook or how Kaz talked about Vita. The CEO of SCE talks about new SCE hardware.

that might get me to buy nextxbox instead of PS4 first. FF I do not care about.

Or I might just upgrade my PC for 300$ instead.

I think that will be the case but would MUCH prefer the while background instead of the blue, looks better.

What? Bethesda asked to be taken off the PS4 developers list?

When did that happen?

I cant find the original article but here is a summary:

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/...oftworks,_LLC_cut_from_list_of_PS4_developers

Its not a sure thing mind you, as it also states some devs could havd asked to be taken off the list as to not give any clues as what they are working on. Given Beths history with Microsoft, and Sony though it would be easy to imagine Microsoft nabbing Fallout exclusively.

Supposedly it will be every game from Sony consoles. I think PSP and Vita are included. Not sure if PS4 is included.

They're actually first and foremost going after PS4 titles. Having instant demos for all games, playable versions and what not. Their emphasis was try out any games you want, buy what you like.

After they have that system in place, they will then consider backwards compatibility. For all we know by the time the console releases, they may decide that it's just not worth trying to get so many games from ps1/ps2 (and on a much unlikelier BC note, psp and vita) on their server and maintain them/offer streaming BC for them. I honestly think it is more likely that they'll release 100% software emulation patches for the ps4 for ps1/ps2 titles rather than BC through Gaikai (PS3 was already capable on entirely software based emulation for PS1/PS2).

PS3 games on the other hand will probably be the first thing they consider handling BC wise after they're done implementing all the PS4 stuff.

Fallout exclusive to Durango wouldn't really tip the favor to MS as Fallout is a franchise that's decent but not huge. An exclusive Elder Scrolls to Durango though? Absolute megaton. Hopefully Sony has spoken to the Bethesda guys to ward off such deals going down but E3 is going to be amazing.

Jeff from Giant Bomb said developers were choosing sides early on. So yes.

Personally, I think you'll see MS go after stuff like Fallout, shooters, etc. while Sony courts more Japanese developers like Square, Konami, etc.

Would be a bad move for Sony if they let Bethesda go. Konami and Square don't exactly get me excited in 2013.

If anything I expect the next Fallout to be a PC/Next Xbox timed exclusive. Based on MS and Bethesda's closeness this generation and the fact that Bethesda's games didn't really sell that well to the PS3 audience. I can see it being an easy decision for Bethesda to offer a 6 month - year exclusive window in exchange for incentives from MS.

Wolfenstein and The Evil Within though are still multiplatform from the start though.

I think we will see mostly timed exclusives. I don't think this gen is going to reset the clock like some people are expecting. There may be a few 3rd party exclusives during launch period, but after that, Nada.

I think that because Bethsesda found the PS3 really hard to work with made Bethesda close to 360 and that 360 launching first helped Oblivion become timed exclusive. PS4 is a different story here. The only thing I can see happening is exclusive DLC.

Not to mention that for Bethesda "the PS4 is not big enough of a jump" (said right after the PS Meeting).

I bet that the next Xbox will be the real next-gen for them.

That doesn't really make sense. Bethesda never were on the European section of the PS4 developer list, and that's the only part that was revised. Here's the original list

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/20/heres-everyone-working-on-a-ps4-game/

They're only listed in the Japan and US section.

That's an odd statement considering the nextbox's rumored specs.

What was said was that the jump between the generations isn't as significant this time.
From PS2 (SD) to PS3 (HD) was a bigger leap than PS3 (HD) to PS4 (Full HD).

Yes, poor Bethesda... they will actually have to improve their gameplay instead of relying solely on new-gen sparklies.

Yeah, that comment was about Pete Hines. He said that he thinks that the upcoming generation is more about connectivity and putting more tools in the hands of the player. Plus he said that they did have games in the works for the console, but they were still early on.

I was randomly looking around and found this...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanzaru_Games

Notice anything for PS4? Was this announced and why is this randomly on Wiki? I understand anyone can edit it but that's a random thing to troll.

Did you read the edits? Someone was clearly having fun:

Sly Cooper: Master of Thieves 2014 PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita
Kevin Savo - The Boy with the Biggest Ego: The Journey of a YouTube Failure 2014 PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita Andrew Jones Loves **** 2014

All this talk of MS getting BF or CoD or Titan (Respawn game) or Fallout exclusive has piqued my interest in the conference. There will be bloodbath either way!

EA want to gain marketshare for BF so I doubt they will make it exclusive. Same goes for Activision. Exclusives will probably be for new IPs where MS share the investment risk. Though I guess COD might be time limited exclusive until early 2014, maybe BF as well (though I do not believe so).
