Not sure if it's old since I have seen bad_boy mention Oct 19 before but in case it hasnt been posted here it is:

Sony has confirmed it is holding a "Gamer's Day" on October 19th, in San Francisco, to show off a full range off PlayStation 3 games.

For members of the press who didn't get a chance to go hands-on with the PS3 at this year's Tokyo Game Show, or for those who simply want more uninterrupted time with the console, Sony will be giving a behind-the-curtain peak at the system's launch lineup on Thursday, October 19th in San Francisco.

It will likely represent the last big chance for substantative hands-on time with the console before its November 17th launch in the US.

Well Rumor has it Killzone will be shown there plus a secret hardware feature which they have yet to announce.

Just to get this started, Megatons expected:

- KillZone shown
- Afrika finally playable!!!
- FF 7 remake
- Eyetoy included in every box

What would be a real nice feel good announcement would be to add rumble. But I think Kaz shot that down recently.

A real nice feel good announcement would be "hey, we're actually launching this thing, no more shenanigans." And then some pricing details for additional controllers and other things.

Well for those not keeping track here is the tally for the sony prophet:

Things he's got right:
1. Resistance size
2. Resistance sound
3. Resistance weapons
4. PSP entertainment pack(exact spec, movie, game and mem card)
5. 700,000 machines for the us (later disclosed by Kaz)
6. Gran Turismo HD being a real game
7. Virtual Tennis looking better on PS3 than 360 because of textures. (he said sports game not VT3 but many believe this is the one since most people that have seen it say the textures in PS3 looked better)
8. Lair playable at TGS
9 PSP and PS3 new store opens where you can buy movies, games, music around November 11
10 PSP is an output device for PS3 (use the PSP as a TV and remote, WOW! would be amazing hopefully there is no lag)
11 GPS was delayed and now coming 12/7 for Japan which means most likely it will come in the summer for the US
12 Online service absolutely 100% free… no tiers, no subscription. like having Xbox Live Gold (well this is almost completely confirmed)
13. Reintroduce UMD to the masses with lower price and more features (Its japan in japan already)
14. Lair to use motion sensing controller at TGS.
15. Killzone to be shown closer to the PS3 launch. (sony confirms: Killzone: Liberation, which is coming out this Halloween. But shortly afterwards there might be some more information on the future Killzone project on PlayStation 3)
16. Lair demo at TGS to be amazing looking.
17 Full featured web browser and the PS3 will have native Keyboard and Mouse support
18 3rd party developers (EA, UbiSoft) have already announced their pricing schemes for next-gen games. PS3 games will generally cost the same as Xbox 360 titles
19 Silver PS2 later this year.
20 Oblivion for the PS3 (with better textures) OPM magazine.
21 Hinted at a late October Sony conference.

Things we are waiting for to see if they do come true.
* New play demo of Heavenly Sword to look amazing with more gore.
* Killzone finally shown late in october and looks like the target video.
* PSP emulator coming october (yay!)
* SquareEnix one of the first being approached for games on PS1 emulator.
* PSP many first party PS1 titles will be available
* Multiple online IDs (not just one gamertag), friends lists, rankings and skill-based auto-matchmaking, full online profiles, EyeToy and EyeToy HD integration (photo profiles, possibly video chat).
* On a later post he also mentioned that Square might announce another Final Fantasy Game for the PS3. Could this be the Final Fantasy 7 remake ??? /me wets pants at the thought

I really think Sony is going to make this show the shit. This is really where they'll be rolling out their big guns.

Still, i'm getting the idea more and more that they really don't care about Japan anymore.

We'll see in October.

Since all those 1up guys are in San Francisco they had better do all that journalistic bullsh*t that they yearn for. If Luke doesnt stir up some shit at this event and find us out some concrete answers i'm gonna buy a pair of shoes (I live in Ky and apparently we dont wear them normally) and fly to SF and put my foot (clad in said shoe) up one or more of the 1up crews arses.

What are the chances Sony announcing a price drop on the PSP at this event?

I have to buy 2 for christmas (nephews =( ) and after buying my new HDTV and PS3 I don't think I can afford $400 more.

TGS was the shit.

This is simply another PR opportunity before launch. There will be no major announcements and no revealing of much. There's probably a reason online isn't at the forefront to this point, and given Sega, Neversoft, & Bethesda's comments, I'd imagine it's because the online isnt' quite set.

Your comments seem more than a bit ridiculous given how great TGS was. Plus Japan got a huge price drop.

We all said TGS was their last chance, which for most part was their last chance before we knew about this event...but now this REALLY is their last chance. they better do good on this. They got a postive feeling back after all the negative shit from e3 so ****ing this up right before launch could be pretty bad.

Like Arde0 said, I would like FULL 1up show/1up Yours coverage on this shit. Make it happen! :D

not sure, but sony-prophet hinted we might see white psp's. and this would be the place to announce it if there ever was a time imo. This could drop the black psp's price down a notch, but thats just speculation on my part.

But seriously, I'm not expecting any massive announcements there. Grey areas might get cleaned up a little, and stuff like peripheral pricing and whatnot will hopefully be outlined, but this is sort of a return to form for Sony where they rope in the press, give 'em all a bunch of hands-on time with the games a few weeks before they hit, and basically try to get one last big push of publicity leading up to the launch.

Fun fact: at the 2000 Gamers' Day event, they gave out free PS ones (which had just recently gone on sale), to everyone that showed up. Ah, back during the dot-com era when if you weren't blowing obscene amounts of cash, you weren't cool.

Well, he's right. From the moment I see your nick in a Sony thread I know you're gonna imply or say something negative for PS3. This one was kinda subtle but given your post history I'd say sonycowboy is right.

There's a high chance Killzone will not be shown as the US producer said they would wait until after the release of Killzone Liberation before they start to reveal more about the PS3 game. I'm not saying it is impossible I'm just saying don't expect it to be there.

Luke also mentioned that rumours were going around that Naughty Dog will reveal the name of their game there. If that happens I'm sure more footage will be shown.

Just got the demo for K:L today...this is gonna be one hella fun multiplayer game (especially after they update it to support online).

thats all i could find off of google, but I suppose that bodes will for some good announcements to come.
