Soul Sacrifice |OT| Sacrifice your wallet to save the Vita

if i see that kinda situation, golemcast or groundfist spell.

I've had it happen to me once or twice, where I was off doing something and the group didn't wait -- but most times in the demo, people were courteous. I haven't played with Randoms in the full game since there are consequences of how you vote and stuff and until I have everything done in Avalon pacts where I can just say "I don't care what happens, I'll just not overwrite the outcome" I don't really plan on it.

I also notice that sometimes people are very anxious to save/sac the boss to make sure that in the event of a tie, they get their choice. This doesn't bother me much overall, but sometimes group members are on the other side of the map and they're sprinting over trying to get in on it and they just miss their chance. If that first person could have just waited 2 more seconds...
I'm not too stressed about it right now since I'll eventually have to go 40/40 anyways to unlock all of the Black Rites. It could become more of a problem once I switch to my final 11/89 build though.

The Japanese voice acting is so much better than the English. Its not even that the English Voice acting is bad but that fucking high pitched squealing echo voice in the story scenes ruins it for me. Whoever was responsible for that decision is a complete clown.

I thought you were doing an 89/11?
Maybe on another save file later on. Soloing bosses is already taking longer than I'd like.

What's the best attack boosting Sigil besides that +150% and 1 HP one? My decision is riding on this.

hahaha nope. I mixed up Mad Chronicle for Sotiara's story.. lol. I'm far from finishing... don't worry
I've only finished the first Magusar chapter and first two Avalon Pacts so far. :/

my friend.. you are far far ahead of me.
I'm losing the game :/ hahaha can't seem to find strategies that allowed me to easily dispatch JoLs for other bosses lol

I've finished Story Mode, and halfway through Avalon VI. 45/21 Arm.
Anybody know how to unlock Mission #3 in Avalon VI

Harpy is really tricky, I keep getting killed when she falls from me freezing her..and of course, the invisible-until-it-hits-you homing fire.

Killed Avalon VII harpy. (150% ATK one-HP sigil)

1) Eat ATK Fruit
2) Spawn golem in front of her non-spawned body
3) Spawn her, stand at side, a decent distance so as to not get hit by her fall
4) Throw three ice paths when she spawns. If this doesn't freeze, step back and throw a barb. Careful not to stand close or her falling frozen will kill you.
5) Unfreeze with lightning after a few hits.
6) Stand behind golem.
7) When golem de-spawns or she escapes it, make sure that if she charges up you run and dodge like hell. Homing fire insta-kills suck.
8) When she's walking after you, make a distance, then drop the golem right in front of her. Then run away so she's stuck behind it.
9) Sacrifice. Kill, win!

I'm stuck on one of the last bosses I think? The one everyone else is like "damn, she's a beast!" My partner is useless and she hits like a truck full screen.
I can't get past memory 3 in Avalon IV solo -- I get killed before I can grab all the shard pieces to reclaim it. Definitely need my group for this, I think.

Annihilator has at least a II sigil which is +60% Attack -35% defense.

I already have that one. Have you seen any "III" Sigils yet?

Exterminator Sigil III: Throw Magic Amp +50%, +25% for Dark Arm V.
Hunting Sigil III: Homing Magic +50%, +25% for Dark Arm IV.
Healer Sigil III: Solo Healing Magic +60%, +30% for Divine Arm IV.
Slayer Sigil III: Summon Magic Extend +40%, +30% for Neutral Arm.
Vigor Sigil III: Base Health +300, +75 for Neutral Arm.
Demon Sigil III: Attack +25%, Defense +15%
Sentinel Sigil IV: Defense +50%, Defense +40% for Divine Arm IV.
Demon Sigil IV: Attack +30%, Defense +20%
Attunement Sigil III: +20% Attack, +20% Defense.
Cleansing Sigil III: Base Health +175, Attack +15%

Randomly jumping in here.

So what are the consequences of saving/sacrificing an archfiend in Avalon quests? If I save they become an ally, what happens if I sacrifice? And can the first choice be overwritten if the mission is played again?

Thanks, I'll continue going on the 11/89 path for now and see if I can unlock any higher attack Sigils.

Saving and sacrificing Archfiends can unlock different paths in some of the Aralon Pact missions. If you sacrifice allies you saved and overwrite the book, they will disappear from your party list. You can get them back by playing through their levels and saving them again. Affinity levels will stay the same.

In case anyone is wondering about the build and methods I used to beat story mode:

I finished the last mission with a 30/20 build, using Sanguine Cannon and Black Rites as my only damage dealers. Occasionally I would swap out one of my healing offerings with a shield type.
It took forever to defeat later bosses but it really helped me learn their attack patterns.

I'm stuck in story mode in the first Cerberus fight. I doesn't help that my partner is completely useless and gets killed every two minutes. But if I don't save his ass, then Cerberus focuses entirely on me (which is unpleasant).

I'm not sure on the right load out for the fight either. I don't have that many stone spells, except a Giant Stone Arm that does 70 dmg. I'm taking the 330 dmg golem and healing, what else do you guys recommend? I'm 13/18. Should I level more?

Edit: Oh I also take a good stone shield I have. to stop the charges.

Apologies if this has been answered but I haven't been able to find information about it. I'm trying to get some Goblin SE++ for Slayer Sigil III. Is the drop rate for + and ++ the same regardless of the pact you do? For example, will the Goblins that appear in the III and IV tier pacts have a higher chance of giving + essences?

A Shield. You'll be able to block his charge attack and knock him down (though after a while the time he stays down will decrease, but even then it will still stop his charges).

For his double swipe just dodge around while keeping him in focus just in case he decides to charge you instead (where you use the shield at that point)

for his pole attack Soldiers ember is a nice one since the lightning wont normally hit you as long as the transformation was a success plus you can hit him with the charge attack. Also if you hit him with that before the move comes off he will usually be interrupted.

Doesn't matter the element at the moment but use his elemental weakness if you do have one

I downloaded the digital copy of the game and never played the demo. I must say that the book reminds me of the evil dead... lol

anyway... here are my questions. I like the style of the game, but I am really confused. The action seems to go really fast and I feel like I have no idea what I am doing. I played a few quests and I am not sure about a few things.

1. So is there a certain point you have to get to in the game to play online with others?
2. I know i have like 3-6 spells (whatever they are called) that you can use at a time, but do you pick them depending on the battle at hand?
3. Maybe its the terminology the games uses, but I find it hard to understand what I am supposed to do and what means what.... I see all these things on the ground and I can get health or magic +2... does that stay with me fight after fight... or is that something that is only for the fight I am currently in?

Thanks for any help.

Anyone else having some weird network issues? I have been trying to hop into games and it either just freezes up or throws a network error at me than kicks me back to librom. 1st time this has happened to me while playing online, really weird.

I'm fairly sure that + and ++ Essences won't even appear in some of the earlier missions. You'll have to play through the more difficult missions.

1. Multiplayer is unlocked after finishing The Sorcerer's Ordeal.
2. Every boss has different attack patterns and weaknesses, so you should pack different offerings for each mission. You can save and load your sets by pressing R on the offering screen. I have at least one set for every boss.
3. Everything is carried over.

Anyone else having some weird network issues? I have been trying to hop into games and it either just freezes up or throws a network error at me than kicks me back to librom. 1st time this has happened to me while playing online, really weird.
This happens to me every 5 missions or so. The worst part is when you randomly lose connection in the middle of a multiplayer mission, leaving you to finish the mission alone. :/

I mentioned in my edit that I do have a nice shield, but I barely have time to cast a golem when he's down. Like I said my main problem is my damned partner that keeps dying on me.

Being sacrificed and the last player left dies before the sacrifice spell finishes, even though it kills the cyclops. Full death animations and quest failed.

1. if its like the demo you have to play all of the first chapter then it will unlock by Librom telling you

2. Yea pretty much since bosses/scrub creatures can have weaknesses and such plus you can have your own style of play. To help with that there is a save/load system for the "loadouts" you create (press r on the offerings screen iirc)

3. those work with the save/sacrifice meter which is a permanent thing so those stuff should stay with you overall. After a certain level you will get the option to "respec" those meters to something else if you want

I mentioned in my edit that I do have a nice shield, but I barely have time to cast a golem when he's down. Like I said my main problem is my damned partner that keeps dying on me.

A partner is mostly useless in that fight due to how stupid they can be (imo) and the damage Cerberus can dish out, plus their presence adds more life to the boss. I usually use them as aggro then plant a golem near Cerberus while distracted (golems hit will usually turn him around lol) and use the second option listed below.

so either:

do it solo which reduces the boss life
use the AI as a later sacrifice for good damage (use lacrima to undo death)
try to protect the AI as much as you can (shield him/her if Cerby is charging him/her, use your strong attacks to interrupt, use the whistle to call them to where you currently are, etc)

hopefully its not one of those escort type shit where if he/she dies the mission failed :/

Im going to try to finish up MGS3 HD tonight and probably play some more SS when I'm out of town this weekend.

So has anyone figured out what the best offerings to use are yet, or will it vary greatly depending on the enemies?

Avalon Minotaur VII defeated. No weakness!

1) Wipe out dogs
2) Spawn Minotaur, drop golem in front of them.
3) Pull out ice spears (25ATK), aim at staff, L, shoot, shoot again, staff is gone.
4) Shoot eggs from behind golem. Try to hit weak spots
5) Right before Golem expires, back up and drop new golem. Mino will walk forward into it
6) Black rite. Dead. Win!

Minotaur is a real pain if you don't completely lock it down.

The Japanese is infinitely superior. The book sounds 100x better. I don't speak a lick of Japanese, but it's what I'll be using during the game.

Did anything else come with my PSN purchase, or just the VO pack?

hmm to nitpick.. the offerings menu is kinda a chore to go through.

I hope they put up the Elemental chart in the Lore though :/
those flying slips of paper during Loading should be easily accessible via Lore upon "unlock"

Unfortunately you can't do any of that since it's a story mission. If you sacrifice that partner
The book tells you that Magusar dying is a major time paradox and you have to undo death, plus do the level again.
.

It's the first time you see Cerberus in story mode. I wonder if I'm underleveled or just suck at this fight.

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT :(

if that's the case then option 3 plus find ways to box Cerberus.

His back to a wall with a golem right in his face could work, just try to time the golem duration so you can cast another right before the first expires. And while he's in that state go apeshit on him as well.

Is this the first fight or the second fight?
If it's the second one and you need help, sacrifice the other sorcerer.
If it's the first one... I think I used the gorgon's eye black rite to perpetually put him in petrified hell.

It definitely can be. I use the right stick to filter the spells now to make things easier and I've gotten pretty fast with it. Also be sure to take advantage of the loadouts you can save. I do like a Fire loadout, for example. Or if I'm going to grind a specific boss, I save a loadout for that boss.

hmm still working on the loadouts bit.. my spells are generally too weak..
or should I say.. going 22/1 isn't gonna cut it... I'm now leveling up my Sacrifice to unlock Sigils and get some of that attack up.. hope it works out...

I'm up to like 22/8 now.. battles seem alot faster
