Oh while I'm asking: When I start the game up from sleep mode using the wireless joycons, the gyro seems to be constantly drifting left. Is that normal or is my joycon broken?

this map is honestly just total fucking garbage for a multitude of reasons, thank hell they made it splatfest only no wonder

Good thing it literally won't be the same stage next time.

Also 13 victory streak for Mayo. Slosher chumps can't get me with my N-Zap.

Those last 3 who got done in by my Inkbrush though. Come on I thought you were better than this.

It doesn't have a chance to calibrate properly, happens with my pro controller too. Put it down until it stops (1-2 seconds).

Got to Mayo Queen. Went 22-19 in all my Splatfest Matches, 4 of which were after I hit Queen (just using up the last of my Crusty Seanwich). Max power was 1919 I think. At least 7 of my losses had our team blow an enormous lead in the last 45 seconds of the match.

I really don't like how the maps rotate like it's normal turf war during the Splatfest. Should've just had 3 regular stages for the whole 24 hours and then throw Shifty Station in there.

I really miss Ink Me Up. That's not a knock against the Off the Hook songs, they're fine (aside from Now or Never, which is still meh), but they don't really feel intense outside of Ebb and Flow

Wait, so it's literally a gimmick stage? I guess that makes me feel better for hating it, but damn, it's such a cool concept. I wish they took the time to flesh it out and make it a full stage instead of a Splatfest gimmick.

It's called Shifty Station for a reason. Being designed by Octolings makes it be able to defy physics and change layout every splatfest.

I like the new map a lot.

I'm on Team Ketchup and...well, guess Ketchup's gonna lose in North America because I NEVER get to fight against Mayo. Seriously, I think I did twenty battles in a row never fighting Mayo. It's frustrating because I want to earn more points for my team, damn it. -_-

Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow. On the bright side, I gained two levels today.

I know team mayo is in good hands when the majority of the game starts with the whole team furiously inking our own base.

I actually think the new map is ok. Probably one of my favorites in the game so far, actually.

My favorite S2 map is probably Starfish Mainstage. I'm a sucker for multi tiered stages and it sort of reminds me of Saltspray Rig.

Been getting those teammates a lot lately. Really makes me feel proud.

Okay I gotta stop, connection issues have become garbage in the last hour or so

Sit in lobby for 2 minutes
disconnect

Sit in lobby for 2 minutes
disconnect

Sit in lobby for 2 minutes
get match
lose
disconnect

Good night

The shifty stage is just so huge. To me it feels like my best bet is to just stay far away from everyone else. There's always stuff to ink where no one is around.

How would that cause Ketchup to lose? We should win the popularity point.

Reaaaaallly not feeling this Splatfest, I keep facing my own bloody team (ketchup) 9/10 matches and the one time we get to fight Mayo they are a 1900 team vs my 1500 so we get rekt out the gate.

Matchmaking is arse, and it sucks fighting your own team and having your avg drop from your own team /smh

Feeling the same way, to be honest.

I'm halfway through Defender and have only played against Mayo three times. All three were lopsided losses. Two of them, the skill difference was ridiculously insane (one was literally Ketchup 1430, Mayo 1760) and in the third one of my teammates stood there in the back corner of spawn just spraying the floor the entire match.

I'm going through my app stats now and it looks like it has been almost 50% of matches where one team or the other had a player leave or disconnect during the match. Those matches almost always ended with really bad stomps for whichever team had the player drop. This is a problem in non-Splatfest Turf War overall but almost 50% is wayyyyyyyyyyyy higher than my experiences in regular Turf War.

And to echo the sentiment of others, man fuck the slosher. I wish I could toss fluid out of a bucket that far that fast in real life. Holy shit, it would make painting or cleaning easy... So ridiculous.

Popularity won't carry the day. Mayo will likely have the win percentages on both solo and team. The Ketchup v Ketchup matches we're playing aren't counting toward anything but our rank - only Ketchup v Mayo matches count when they tally up the win percentages at the end.

This game is really fun, but it's frustrating how much harder it is to be effective with the charger vs just using some regular shooting weapon. At least in turf war. I've been stubbornly trying to use it for a while but it feels so punishing to make a mistake or to get caught away from teammates. Maybe it'll be easier to use when I unlock ranked. :(

Does popularity really count for that much? This is my first Splatfest so I dunno.

When I got a match against mayo, their points were usually higher. And not fighting against mayo feels super useless because it does nothing for the team, just your own personal stats. But it's really hot here and making me exhausted so maybe I'm not understanding the point stuff, heh.

As a noob, my experience is that chargers work best when your team works with you, I spent an entire game assisting a charger, keeping enemies from them and marking enemies for them.

Sometime mind explaining the splat number for the player at the end of each match?

I got 9 splats on the results screen, but I know for a fact I didn't actually splat that many during the match. Does this number include assists or something?

It does include assists.
The app breaks things down between kills you got and what was an assist if you click on your match history.

Well I think I had a winning record for team mayo to get to mayo king. Went 26-24 in my last 50 battles. Also damn what's with the team v teams you guys are getting?. I must be lucky or something since every match has been mayo vs ketchup except for 2.
