Drunk turf war and salmon run games with a few pals from my FFXIV guild tonight, this game is the best. Wish salmon run would always be up, it's great to jump into between matches of turf war. Game does NOT like when I connect with someone else on my connection, though.

I guess everyone takes different amounts of time to adapt to stuff but from my experience, when i first started the game (didn't play the first one either) I couldn't wrap my head around the motion controls at all. Sometimes i would walk for 3-5 seconds straight while only looking at the ground or the sky, constantly reminding myself I had to tilt the controller. Which was really unintuitive.

2 days later and a friend tried it, switched to analog controls. When I played a match and forgot motion was still turned off I sucked so bad it was unbelievable. It really is just for the fine tuning of your aim and looking up and down, nothing else. Became second nature to me in no time, was amazed at how fast that happened. Also they really aren't compareable with shrine controls in Zelda.

I'd say give it a shot, use it for a while before giving up. Almost would've done that as well.

How the hell do you respawn on one of your teammates? I select them on the map and once it worked but it never has since.. there has to be something I'm missing here.
 
Broke 2500 points in Turf War with 6 Curling Bomb launchers.

Getting in the middle of Humpback (on top of that hill) and launching them everywhere in all directions is so good.

I won't lie. I thought the Grizz brand would have more, even though I did that polo (that has Ink (sub) as it's primary ability).
 
i can confirm the InkBrush got a SERIOUS nerf

can't rapid button press the shoot button on either the Joycons or ProCon nearly as well as the Wii U GamePad :(
 
When you "Order" a piece of clothing in the main square, he says come back tomorrow. Is that stored server side, or could you change your clock on the system to get it sooner?
 
Tried doing a search to determine the answer to this with no luck.

My wife has been playing on my Switch and is loving it enough she might go get a Switch and a copy of her own so we can play together.

Now question is since she linked her Nintendo Account to this log in, if she transfers her account to the new Switch and plays, will she still have her progress, or will she need to start fresh?

My guess is the latter of course, but I'm hoping since this is tied to the online service there might be more hope.
 
Played a bunch of Salmon Rush to get the shirt. At times it was aggravating being stuck with a weak team, and damn I really hate the bucket and Blaster weapons.

Unless they're offering nice prizes I don't see myself playing it often.
 
What other D-Pad phrases do we need for Salmon Run?

1. You're the only one alive and there are ten seconds left, run the fuck away!
2. I have a shit gun this round, please bear with me.
3. The gimmick in this round is bullshit, just try to survive.
4. That jellyfish type boss the practice didn't introduce is some bullshit.
5. Somebody disconnected, RIP us.
6. It's that rocket artillery boss and we all have terrible aim, RIP us.
7. There are three snakes within two feet of all of us, we should just quit now.

There's no way Nintendo would make you start over if you linked that nintendo account to a new switch

Lol this would be helpful. Played quite a bit today, and I dreaded the fact that half the weapons (Slosher and blaster) were the type I hate using

There should honestly be some clarification regarding "respawning on teammates"

There is no respawning on teammates... You simply "superjump" to them. You can do this technically at any time as long as they are alive it's just most common to do when spawning. If it's not working for you following death and you feel like you're doing it correctly it's probably because you haven't spawned in again yet and are doing it too early. You can't superjump while dead
 
I'm really curious to see the sales numbers for this game. I know quite a few people who've gotten it which is kind of cool to hear since they were the same ones who skipped over Mario Kart or ARMS or they didn't own a Switch yet and got one just for it. Loving the game so far, probably put in like 10 hours already lol.

Also, what are some of your early anecdotal opinions on the best weapons in the game so far? I want to say the Aerospray MG is very, very good in Turf War just like how I felt the RG was back in Splatoon 1, though I feel like it's even better because it's also pretty good in ranked despite not having much killing power. The ink rumba (lol) blast special covers so much area and can do pretty decent damage to enemies and the huge amount of area the gun covers means that you get the special pretty quickly.

Super jumping really isn't explained at all unfortunately. It'd be easy to miss if you don't know about it, and even knowing about it it isn't as intuitive as it could be at first
 
Seriously like some of the gimmicks I don't even know what to do? There's one at night with green fountains everywhere and I have NO CLUE what the objective is,

There's another game I just had wit hit - first round, too. We all just ran around dying.
 
I kind of wish salmon run had a preference system that could be used to weight the hcances of which player gets which weapon. So if a player likes one of the harder to use weapons, they'll be more likely to get it rather than it going to the guy who's completely incompetent with them

Nope, just a turf battle. I have not tried Salmon Run yet. :)

Seriously though, the Switch has brought me the most fun I've had in gaming in a long time.
 
Salmon run starts out pretty easy

Then you rank up a few times and it's suddenly super tense and WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE FIVE BOSSES ON THE MAP AT ONCE? OH SHIT A NINTH BOSS TYPE! HOLY FUCK SO MANY ENEMIES! FUCKING BLASTER SHIT I SUCK WITH THIS
