Started to play, instantly got a communication error within 10 seconds of the game. Then played two all the way through, on the losing side because of course I was, and then got 4 communication errors in a row, all within about 30 seconds. Five experience buffs wasted in less than 2 minutes.

Fuck it, I'm just going to run out and get the wired adapter. I have no idea if it'll help, but the game is becoming near unplayable at this point.

Wired adapter solved all my Mario Kart disconnect problems at home. Never had any problems on hotel or airport wifi. And I have amazing 100/75/5 wifi at home. For some reason, Switch wouldn't have it.

Is communications errors just a server issue? Like, would getting a wired connection vs a wireless one help at all?

No. I got LAN adapter and have gotten a rage-quit warning every day so far. Good lag and no teleporting rollers yet though.

EDIT: maybe someone can figure out what ports Splatoon uses and that will help?

Did you even read the article to notice it doesn't answer the question?
I assume the amount that you make towards rewards is the number of Power Eggs you collected multiplied by your difficulty percentage.
Pretty sure that person thought you were asking about the golden eggs and is just stubbornly continuing down the route that you should've played the tutorial and not ask questions here, which is silly since there are so many questions being asked in this thread already.

Question about the drawing posts. I made one and posted it. I know it went through, because it also got posted to Twitter, but for some reason it doesn't show up in my profile. Is there an approval process or do I need to link it manually?

I saw her just now.

Heavy Splatling is amazing, especially before our eLiter masters come at level 30.

The sprinkler is a great sub. There are strong locations for it in every map and mode to keep tight spots contested, or at the very least uncomfortable - you can also use it as bait. You can defend it from range very effectively.

The weapon itself has range comparable with the splat charger. Run Speed Up will give snipers headaches while you keep them under pressure and they miss shots.

It's all about managing ink and charge - the best way to learn is to go into training mode and try to see how little you actually need to make quick paths and close kills.

PROTIP: you can cancel your fire by going back in the ink, and should probably be doing that most of the time once you've inked/splatted what you wanted to, or failed to and gave 1 or more enemies your position.

So I've looked on Squidboards and maybe found 1-2 kinda helpful stacking posts, but most about damage. Did my own research in the test room based off Swim Speed from the spawn (at the back) straight down to the wall past the static targets. Don't have great gear so this is just for 0 main, 1 main, and 2 main.

0 main - avg 4.98s to get down there.
1 main - avg 4.26s to get down there. 14.3% faster.
2 main - avg 4.09s to get down there. 17.81% faster.

WISH I COULD GET SOME SPEED SUB ABILITIES JESUS

Don't waste $30 if you can wait. This one is $11 and it works perfectly fine for me.

did similar with the octobrush last second earlier today; felt great lol

My issue with the splatling is how chaotic everything gets in round 3; without the mobility to run away, or dash to a faraway stinger, I die a ton.

Yeah, mobility's a little weird. If you get caught in a sticky situation, you're pretty much done, so you have gun down -everything- ahead of time. With so much to gun down in Wave 3 though, you almost have to completely drop egg-running duty.

Actually wait, I forget: Does the Splatling come with the Splashdown for Salmon Run? 'Cause you should totally use the Splashdown. (It's Bomb Rush, isn't it? >.>)

For just reaching far targets though, I don't feel it's that awful? Just half-charge it for max distance, then squid form the instant your path is made.

Edit: While on the subject of Salmon Run, has anyone ever scored the quick kill on the umbrella guy? >_> Can never hit the missile he launches at the right angle.

Do you get anything for going through the story mode?
Special weapons are mainly it. The single player is a fun well crafted experience that helps you learn how to use a lot of the core weapon types. As well as forcing you to use and master all of the mechanics. Also if you really want you can find the sunken scroll in each level which provides lore and background to the series. The main reward for beating the single player is an amazing, creative, we'll crafted 5 hour campaign

Do the motion controls in the joycons work the same as when they're off the switch? I've been only playing in handheld mode and I just tried using them on the charge dock and I was looking up the entire time. Pressing y would center it for a second but then they'd go wonky again.

Splatoon on a handheld should have never happened. My level of productivity has took a major hit since last friday. I'm playing this game everywhere in my house, including the bathroom.

Help.

It's actually bonkers how difficult Salmon Run is. Very quickly got to the point where it isn't fun. Being forced to use shit guns absolutely kills it.

Just so people are aware, motion is not supposed to replace using the sticks. You use the sticks for wide movements and motion for that tighter finesse when aiming.

I'm having a hard time using the right joycon stick. My movements are super wide.

So what's up with the weird ice chest guys that fly? Sometimes they would drop eggs and then other times they wouldn't.

It's cool I'm still seeing new Salmon Run shit after like 30 times playing it.

Anyone know of a good guide to learn more about maps, how gear works, etc. Is the prima PDF any good? Just looking to save time in filling in the gaps.
