I gotta say that I really think the Aerospray MG is overpowered. It's like the power of a weapon doesn't matter, speed is king for whatever reason. I'm not even very good at the game, but I've consistently done better with it, and often been top of my team. Even if my team doesn't win, I have excelled on my team the most when I started using it, and I'm almost always seeing anyone else who was the top of the other team was also using the Aerospray MG.

I love that this thread is following the same beats as the first Splatoon. Same with the Testfire thread
 
If I'm connected to one Wifi source and then change to another, the game won't recognize that I'm again connected to the internet? I've had this happen twice switching from Wifi at work to tethering on my phone, and now coming home. I've had to close the game and reopen it for the game to recognize that I'm online again, even though the system says I'm connected.

This needs to be patched.
 
Stop the other team with 2 left on the splat zone and 10 to play then hold off for 60 seconds straight in overtime for the win. Getting our assess kicked all game then we all just went nuts, dunno what happened.

Soooo good.
 
Is the octo gear also from amiibo or from beating single player a bunch more?
I haven't gotten my new set of 3 delivered and callie and marie already gave me the first game's hero sets and presumably the new hero sets once i level up more?
 
At the end of a match in ranked, how does it do the rankings, or is there no real order to It? There have been multiple times I've had the highest splat count and protected the area, but it puts me at the bottom, don't really understand what it uses to order players at the end.

It's based on win rates of recent matches. It used to be ranked on number of splats, then they decided kills shouldn't be emphasized.

Yes! Zones comebacks are so hype. Some people hate Zones for how campy and dry some games can be, but I love how tense its overtimes are, trying to defend so many waves of enemy respawns. Getting that team that pulls together and works in sync (without voice chat, no less) is really satisfying.
 
When you get over 1200 points in a lost match and the rest of your team has less than 400 points each

Salmon Run is seriously tied to a clock rotation?

I can't be the first nor while I be the last person to bitch about that, but c'mon. It's annoying enough normal match is only turf war all the damn time, the game works best with variety and rotating everything is not helping with engagement here
 
That feeling of curling bomb lobbing to push into a teams choke point with your team and subsequently destroying all their defenses.

I fucking love this game.

Thanks, no wonder I'm not moving up. I don't know why the game keeps giving me the worst people possible. Why the fuck are you going the long way to the Splatzone with a roller? Why are you splatting the spawn point, the Splatzone is what we need to get to.

People really need to remember they have bombs too. Think it is great when I throw a bomb and get in a firefight forcing them into the explosion.

Don't think I'm ever going to get out of C- on Splatzone, can't for the life of me get a competent team.

Good thing 3v4's don't mess with your Rank anymore. Used to take away a point (or more, depending on when they DC'd). I don't know when the cutoff point is to remove any penalty, but it's certainly better than 1's.

Speaking of rank, I think three cracks on my Rank Tank probably elevates my blood pressure more than low numbers ever did. 😟
 
TBH I don't like how they hide some of the scrolls in hero mode, feels like I'm finding hidden things in NSMB2. Kind of ruined my hero mode experience. Boss fights are amazing, though.

This is also why you don't paint your base upon spawning, by the way.

Please don't paint your base upon spawn.
Please do make the smallest possible line to your intended position.
Be it Tower Control, Splat Zones, Rainmaker, or even Turf War.
 
Do gear abilities stack? Like, is 3 of the same kind a good thing?

I'm having some serious Deja Vu from Splatoon 1, because what you are saying is exactly what people were saying when that first came out. People complained about the Aerospray for about 2 weeks after release until it became apparent that the Aerospray isn't that good of a gun.

The Aerospray isn't overpowered in any way. The gun has its place in Turf War and even Splat Zones, but it has almost no range and people using it get torn apart by any other gun that has more range to it. I guarantee you will forget all about the Aerospray in a week or two when everyone has got higher in level and moved onto other guns. The Aerospray only seems overpowered because its an easy to use, easy to get gun in the beginning. It's literally the same gun it was in Splatoon 1 -- and a month into that game you pretty much couldn't use the Aerospray for many different reasons.

I never bothered with it in the first game, but tried it here and noticed how effective it can be for Turf War, but very quickly noticed the lack of range and therefore disadvantage in 1 v 1s, and quickly dropped it from Ranked play and eventually Turf War. All within like, a day lol

EDIT: Nice Special though.
 
I love this game and series but there's still too many baffling decisions with the sequel. How is Salmon Run a limited event? Why aren't my friends and I placed on the same team in Regular Battle? No excuse for this at all.
 
Is there a place that actually explains the icons on each gear? I'm not sure I understand all of them.

Press X. Go to "Status". Choose "Ability".

Or when equipping gear, press the ZL button and it will show you the abilities that gear has. Press it again and you'll get a description of the abilities if you don't remember.
