So....

I just saw how to unlock the hero weapons for online.

Murder me with a spoon.

How can you even complete some stages with the shorter range guns? I tried doing a Splatling stage with the Splattershot (I think it was 13) while searching for the scroll and I couldn't reach the grapple point needed to progress.

My only complaint with this game is that the MP is so fucking addicting that I have no desire to go back to the story mode lol

I'm feeling the same way. The only time I go to play single player mode is when I'm on the go and have no internet connection.

I wish you could get money in the single player mode. That's the biggest thing keeping me from playing it. I want to be earning money so I can stay on top of all the cool gear I ordered.

I heard you can hit them with a grenade, haven't tried it myself though.

You can throw a bomb at the grapples to hop. I also think the game adds extra platforms and such so each stage is do-able with every weapon

They look very nice!

Hmm. I tried that but the point was too far to hit with the throw so the bomb dropped underneath it and exploded with no result.

I'll have to give it another try...eventually...

Maybe.

God I hate this fucking "shotgun" so much. It has the stopping power of a fucking popgun, it can't paint for shit, it doesn't even come with a grenade... how the fuck does anyone use this shit.

Tower control and Rainmaker aren't usually like that every match, try giving them another shot on different maps. Rainmaker is my personal favorite mode! Also keep in mind winning in ranked nets you quite a bit more points than winning in Turf War. If you can keep a decent win rate, you'll level faster that way.

The winning part is what evades me though lol, you can tell rank C is hell because everyone is new ie: in rainmaker my team wipes from the bubble explosion xD

Encountered a brush player that looked and moved like a damn samurai. Shit was so hype.

Need to start playing sniper for pro mode, teams with one always seem to do better.

I gotta say I loved being able to chill at the park and just pull out my Switch and play this for like an hour. This is seriously fun as hell. In 6 months with all the free DLC they will add by then it'll be a real monster.

My GF loves this game so much she is looking for a Switch to buy just to play with me and on her lunch breaks. Nintendo really gets "fun" right when it does so. More so than any other developer.

Between this and ARMS I'm good for a while on the MP front.

lmao branduil, is there anything you don't hate in this video game

the slosher's good shit is that it hits over walls, think of it more like a mortar cannon imho

Story mode just doesn't feel quite as good this go around to me. I plowed through the first games SP, but I'm not into this one for some reason. The scrolls aren't nearly as interesting this time around so far either (on like level 16 or something).

I don't hate the Aerospray. The brushes, blasters, and dualies are okay too. But the popguns can die in a fire.

now i dunno if you're talking about the blaster or the bucket

i just got 12 kills on rainmaker wiht blaster so yeah

god i love the change they made to the rainmaker. that shit's actually dope as fuck now

I think Inkbrush is the weapon-type I see played well by far the least often.

Did enjoy the single player content, but it felt shorter, easier, and with less creative ideas. Between it's state and the lack of amiibo challenges it's really obviously how short the developement time likely was on the title.
What are talking about? The amiibo challenges just made you replay the campaign with 3 different weapons, in S2 there are like 8 different weapons you can use in the campaign. Designing the levels so they could be beatable with 8 weapons surely took much more time than for just 4 (standard+3amiibo weapons). I agree in which it doesn't feel as fresh as the original but well, it's a sequel. The devs also stated that they redid all the assets and all the code from scratch, all weapons have been rebalanced, there are a ton of new subs, the specials are all new, there are new game modes, the game feels very polished...I don't know how you can think this is a rushed release.

bluey from splatgaf was our resident brush samurai back when the weapon was first introduced. good times. i mean bad times because inevitably you died

Whatever the fucking weapon that shoots a useless burst is.

I barely see them in turfwar but I was just floored at how he killed me at first, s/he was hiding in the paint and popped right in my face *slash* *slash* I was dead before I could react. The animation for the strike really looked like someone using a katana, it was pretty dope. Kinda makes me want to try it out outside of Salmon Run where it's a great weapon to have especially in the night waves.

Getting to B on every mode has been painful :x

I had games where I had to basically win 1 v 3's just for my team to actually be able to do anything :l

...

When I was in C+ I found I was only matched with people from C- to C+, and when I was in B- I was only matched with those from B- to B+. I don't know if this is always true, but it wasn't the case in the original game, I don't think. But that accounts for why it's a noticeable jump. Once I was up in the B range, I saw a lot more players at level 20+ with hero replica weapons from the campaign. I'd estimate these are players with over 30 hours in the bank already after just a few short days.
It was like that in S1, when you won or lost rank the game would pull you out of the lobby and make you reenter to search for players in your new rank. However, sometimes you could have mixed matches if there weren't enough players of your rank, but only with close ranked people, like having one or 2 B- in a C room and such.
BTW, I don't like that S2 looks for 7 new players after every match in ranked, I like playing the same people repeteadly and developing rivalries through a series of matches, but that's not possible in ranked anymore :(

Didn't try it out but can't you stick in the same room as someone in your friend list like in Turf War?
Oh that's nice! Do all sniper rifles have that zoom in when you charge a shot? The one you get in SP doesn't have that IIRC.

I'm rusty, I used to be good, but I haven't unlocked my favorite weapon yet.
Slightly disappointed it feels so similar than the first. Not an EDGE 10 then.

I usually got matched up with Japanese players since I live in Asia, but then there were a few times I went in a lobby full of English nicknames, it actually felt different playing with them.

That played rank, something I did once in the first game. Tower Control and Rainmaker is fun, although the bombs are utter BS in those modes. I think Rainmaker is my favorite....if the game didn't put me in the same level for over an hour (no really).

Strangely, despite being an utter noob in rank, my victory record went up to 28/22. Not sure how I feel about that.

I've been wondering: the colour lock feature locks that match's colours for you to be used in every match in case of certain other colour combinations messing with a certain colour blindness you may have, right?

What happens during Splatfests? Does the feature get overridden and you HAVE to play with the Splatfest colours or does the game still allow you to play with your preferred locked set? On that note, if you were to lock the unique Splatfest colours, like mayo's light-yellow versus Ketchup red, does that mean every match after Splatfest will still use those Splatfest colours?

e: Or do you just select a combination from the menu, that actually sounds way more logical, lol

I changed my account name to Japanese just to mess with people here in Europe. I wonder if that makes people play differently against me.

I've hit my equilibrium at B this morning. Need to git gud.

After watching my W/L drop from 38/12 to 26/24 in Turf War last night I jumped into ranked mode (after adjust my sensitivity back down) and proceeded to get 27, 20, 17 and 21 splats in the first 4 matches. Shit's bananas.

The Rapid Blaster is good at pressuring at range, due to its high rate of fire for a blaster weapon and ability to 1,2 hit with a direct. The Ink Mines synergise extremely well with the weapon as well for area denial or CQC bait; even with Bomb Defence, a Direct hit after being tagged by a mine will result in a death.

Currently recommending the use of Sub Power Up with it as it makes both the trigger range and explosion of ink mines larger.

I just realized I didn't even know it was possible to zoom in with the charger.

Only Scoped Chargers can zoom. The have more range than the scopeless versions, but they're not able to use the charge hold mechanic as a result.

I just had one of the worst multiplayer experiences of my life. Lost 6 matches in a row. In each time except once, I got first (the other time, I got second). In literally all of them, we were ahead, and then I would die, with one minute to thirty seconds left. My team would screw everything up and IMMEDIATELY lose everything. By the end, I was raging.

On the 7th game, I killed five people within twenty seconds of each other. Of that five, I killed three who were in a group, one after another. I was absolutely determined not to lose. Best I've ever played. All the while, I was splatting the area, and getting the whole center. My whole area was the color of our teams ink. I then look, and it says we are in danger...what? I look at the map, and my teammates have, apparently, not been able to do anything. I just turned off my switch at that point. Turned it on again, played another match, and I got carried. That part felt alright, the rest, though, was too much.

I hope Splatoon doesn't have this happen often. I don't want the algorithm to keep labeling me as a carry for worse players. It's not fun, and, after awhile, it just makes me upset. I can't wait for Salmon Run to come back, cause I'm tired of Turf War right now :P

That's me last night. I had so many games in a row that we were dominating all match then threw it at the end. Think ranked modes are more for me - no unfair feeling last minute turnarounds.

lt's one of the best weapons for tower control. You're supposed to keep your distance, zone out people, and aim properly to land direct hits. You're helped with that by inkmines that mark people that step on them like a point sensor and damage them enough so a follow up direct hit with the Rapid will kill them. Splat bomb rush is also great for area denial and map control, something the main weapon isn't very good at as it doesn't paint that well.

lt's not a mindless weapon but it's a very strong one.

ranked definitely has some last minute turnarounds but you know in your heart of hearts the other team put in some god damn work to hold that point past overtime

Does anyone know why the app says "Stages Clear" as 97% when I've completed all the stages with all Sunken Scrolls and Sardinian collected? Are there other places that have to be unlocked other than the 5 Sectors, 27 Stages and their respective bosses?

Maybe I'll start playing more ranked then. People were so good tho :p One time I got a match where it was all C's vs all C-'s. I was like, "But why tho?" And of course we lost, and my glass thing cracked. Havent touched it since. I don't understand the way Splatoon balances stuff sometimes lol :p
