Ah that's not a long wait, still strange you can't see the shedules in the Splatnet 2 app tho i looked everywhere but can't find it. I guess it just shows up if it is online.

Salmon run is back in about a half an hour, conveniently I start a 10 hour shift at that time. So no Salmon Run today

That's pretty dumb imo app should be available everywhere. Splatnet 2 is a nice app for the game so that they lock your country out of it is pretty sad.

just playing turf war with the charger. I was pretty bad in Splatoon 1 with it but i'm trying to get better here.

I wouldn't give a lot of importance to C- vs C, especially now. I've encoutered C- that were definitively at least A-level, a lot of people are just entering ranked, and nothing is reliable.Maybe I'll start playing more ranked then. People were so good thoOne time I got a match where it was all C's vs all C-'s. I was like, "But why tho?" And of course we lost, and my glass thing cracked. Havent touched it since. I don't understand the way Splatoon balances stuff sometimes lol
Even more when you basically go from C- to C by just playing.
4x C vs 4x C- has very little chance to be really unbalanced because of ranks*, I prefer that avoid weapons unbalance, and maybe they also take into account previous Win/Loss ratio of players, which is probably more reliable.
* it can still totally be unbalanced of course, I've just played an all B- match that felt like A vs C... It was just a slaughter, I had trouble doing much seeing how my 3 partners were deadly efficients.
Is there maps with two clearly separated splatzones (not Moray's)? I miss those, the docks level is another "control the middle" now
I used to love Camp Triggerfish in splat zones, too.

Is there any way to earn mats/exp besides online matches? I'm playing through the SP stuff right now and it's like "you need to upgrade your gun, it's gonna get tougher!" But I have nowhere near the number of orange globes, and none of the vendors will sell to me anyway -- still have 0xp.

I have a question about abilities in gear. I see that some gear has one ability, then a mystery ability that unlocks as you use it. But how do I apply abilities to the other slots that are empty? Also, is there a way to change abilities on clothes I think look good, but have useless abilities attached?

Salmon Run seriously ends at 6:00PM today? As in they're timing it perfectly so that people getting home from work cannot play it?
How is this time limited stuff supposed to help the supposed problem of unpopulated queues if they don't have it open when people can actually play it.

Is there a good "beginner's guide to online" somewhere? I want to be able to contribute more than I currently am to my team. I'm newish to the game.
It's about 2PM in Europe and 9 in Japan, so those people have ample time to play.
Again, it seems targeted to specific regions, not worldwide. Having 12 hour Salmon Runs is pretty bogus after everyone expected alternating days.
Ironically, some of the reasons for the limitations with the Wii U game carry over to the Switch. Obviously the Wii U install base was low, and since Splatoon was an unproven IP, Nintendo designed it so the player base would not be split and that it would be easy to find a game. Even though the Switch and Splatoon 2 are hot items, the install base is still low, so they are filtering in people to ensure people don't give up because it takes forever to find a match.
Please understand.
You can find them in the story mode and as rewards for Salmon Run

Man, people need to learn how to play Salmon Run. I thought that was the point of the forced tutorial. They are running around inking territory while the bosses are killing the other players.
I played about 10 turf wars with a friend yesterday and in all of them we were on the opposite team, and the results were a 10 match lose and win streak each, which sucks so much because all we want to do is to play on the same team.
Is league battles and salmon run really the only two options to be guaranteed to be on the same side in matches?

So adding Salmon run on the end we have
- The same miserable situation as above where one of us get is doomed to loose freshness ranks each time we face off against each other
- Get 6 more friends with Splatoon who all are able to play at the same time we want to play
- Reaching League battle to play ranked modes, while I'm currently C- minus with cracks and he doesn't like to play ranked at all
- A non requirement co-up mode with limited availability
I'm not too pleased with these options :I

Are they just random or is there a specific spot they spawn like the exp ticket near world 2-6?
I just had a Salmon Run where we got the wave where you have to open the pipes to make the golden enemy appear. We found the pipe quite early, was the second one we tried. It popped open and we got the notification that the golden one was on the loose... and nothing happened. The pipes stayed open for the whole game, it told us to shoot it to make it drop its eggs, but it didn't appear. In fact nothing came out of any of the pipes. This was at 205% pay grade.
Then got dropped as we got the results for winning a run twice in a row.
I'm now down to 170% pay grade thanks to this shit. FFS at least only penalise me for the disconnect as if I'd lost during the third round.

The pointless cycling of maps and modes is really stupid. Allow all maps and all modes 24-7 and come up with some unique timed events for that random excitement. And for the fucking love of god allow us to switch weapons between (or hell crazy idea during!?!?) matches lol
All weekend I was playing Salmon Run and then switch to MP whenever I would get tired of it and vice versa. Really was a lot of fun jumping back and forth.
I like that they force you to use a weapon each round though. Good to experience them all and have to change your style each round.
sorry. no local multi for splatoon 2 (at least one one console)
I can deal with the other things but this is what kills me about it right now. Not being able to change loadouts or even exit the lobby when you are inbetween matches is kinda nuts.

This might get me to be more aggressive in purchasing a Switch.
Honestly it should just be available 24/7.
Splatoon 2 is gonna outsell 1 and the playerbase will be healthy for several years.
With just a handfull of modes there should be no worries about split playerbase, not enough players etc. And the mode is fun enough and has good enough rewards it won't die out anytime soon.
