Goddamn Nintendo, that's a sick burn yo.

The lore in the scroll pages is super deep as usual, but also really vague. It's pulling that Adventure Time shtick where you can tell that shit went down in the past, but Nintendo won't be spilling the beans for a long time, if ever.

Stick to the high ground, got it. So kind of treat it like a charger? Don't get ganked and look for high up spots to abuse your range.

I never push the enemy team with it unless its the final 30 seconds, the range is enough to keep to your side and stretch over the mid ground easily enough.

At what point do you cover your own base if not at the beginning? I saw so many lost matches in the Splatoon 1 and few in 2 that were lost because no one covered their own base with ink.

I think a good habit is to watch your teammates at the beginning, if they all rush forward into mid you can stay back to cover turf and build special before going to support them.

It also depends on what weapon youre using though

I hope they add a clip recording feature to the Switch... I've been recording stuff but since I don't record 24/7 when on console and I can't in tabletop mode I miss some good or funny clips I wish I could save.

Probably just like Zelda they will slowly build up the lore. I love that one scroll tho cuz it's true.

that's a good idea

I got the jet squelcher yesterday with poison mist and tenta missiles. this might become one of my mains. was tearing shit up in splat zones.
That, and the L3 Nozzlenose are my best weapons. Squelcher is so good at keeping people at a distance, and the Nozzlenose is just powerful and never seems to run out of ink, so you can spam it.

With 1 win to go to rank up from B-, lost the rest of the matches, got 3rd crack then break. :( At least didn't send me back down to C+.

In the matches I am in, people just super jump the entire match. I usually wind up trying to do last minute cleanup at the end.

Superjumping is 85% of the time the mark of a bad player. If you're super jumping to a contested area, you're going to die. If you're super jumping to an uncontested area, unless there's no blank spaces left by your base, you're missing a chance to fill your meter in return for one or two seconds lost time, which is very rarely a good trade-off. It's only worth it if reaching the bounds of the uncontested area is very far away, in which case your team is winning by a big margin and super jumping or not probably won't make a difference.

I'm having fun with this... in single player.

I don't know if it's just my experience, but multiplayer seems to be balanced really badly, if at all. I'm constantly getting very low leveled people on my team (me included) going against level 20/30s. Seems like everyone I'm going against knows what they're doing while I don't.

stay fresh mothersplatters

Anyway after playing a carpton of Salmon Run, I've realized that the time limit... is still AWFUL! The mode is a great way to cool off when you get tired of Turf War and Ranked and the rewards guarantee that it'll be played plenty compared to the other modes. They seriously should keep it open 24/7 and just change the rewards a bit so you get less stuff in each capsule, but make it so there's a constant flow of prizes instead of having nothing but polos after 1200p or so. I read an interview where the devs said they weren't sure how people would take to it and are willing to do what players want in the future, so here's hoping they meant it.

I never really got into min maxing with the first game and could use some advice on gear.

So far I've gotten 3* boots that have Ink Saver Main and 3* coat that has Ink Saver Sub. Are both of those worth keeping? I'm trying to get Ninja Squid on my helmet, but I'm not sure if that's possible. If it is, is that a good starting point or should I try to switch something out?

I assume at that point I'd try to stack a different skill on each one. I'm thinking swim speed, ink resistance, and I'm not sure what else.

I saw something weird happen in a ranked match last night. On the matchmaking screen, it just started with 7 players! Sure enough the other team had three players. Unfortunately my internet dropped out so I got disconnected halfway through, but I took a screenshot at the start of the other team only having 3.

How the fuck do you even win at 215%. I have yet to win at 185%, I've tried like 10 fucking times.

Best tip I can give is to not overextend once you've hit the quota. There's no reason to chase after far-off bosses since you'll most likely die and be too far away to safely revive, so just stick to the high ground near the egg machine.

I actually think the scrolls were of much lower quality compared to Splatoon 1. Not as much apocalyptic stuff and scrolls wasted on stuff such as the weapon shop moving etc.

Well I know that part, but even the egg machine isn't much help when you have 2 or 3 fly fishes nearby...

Anyway I finally ranked up, but I don't know how much that was improvement or how much that was the game feeling sorry for us since we got a disconnect before the 3rd round, so the egg requirements were far more lenient.

It seems like superjumping can be good if you have someone in a high ground position that's normally hard to get to and from which you can easily join the battle. Or if it's the last few seconds and you need to take the risk. Otherwise I don't bother.

is that...

is that... avocado toast?

What's everyone's most used weapons?

I love the Splattershot, Inkbrush, and .52 Gal. I loved the Squelcher in the first game, so I'm looking forward to unlocking it soon. Is the Dual Squelcher in Splatoon 2?

..... So where is it?

Definitely depends what I'm playing.

Turfwar I'm exclusively Aerospray.

For ranked game modes I've been using the .9 gal and distancing myself away from the action, and just taking the other team out so it gives my team time and space to deal with the objectives.

I'll sometimes revert back to an Aerospray for Splat Zones depending on what mood I'm in.

I seriously wish I could change weapons inbetween matches though, it's annoying having to exit out each time. The worst thing is that once you press continue it searches for a new match anyway, so why not let us choose our weapon before.

Hey Nintendo, sure would be nice if your shitty Salmon Run events weren't in the middle of the workday. Can't even play my favorite mode.

Yeah, if you get multiple flyfish just pray to RNGesus. They're the one boss that seriously need a nerf, taking two bombs to go down + only being able to throw one bomb before refilling your ink + needing extremely precise aim + doing all this while chum and other bosses are constantly on your ass is just too much.

I bought the game, but I won't have stable internet for few days. Is the so campaign worth playing in the meantime? Splatoon 1 sp was little bland.

Yeah, definitely wish we could.

One thing I'd also really like would be a random weapon select, as I like using a bunch of different weapons. It'd be cool if you could select the weapons you want from a list and then have the game randomly pick one for you every match.

This. I checked SplatNet2 and saw that it's running from 8 to 8 and I'm like "Sweet, I get to play for fucking 2 hours max assuming I skip dinner and don't need to take a shit." It's gonna suck for kids once school rolls around too. "Sorry Johnny, you can't play Salmon Run because you get out at 4 and have Homework to do before video games."

I see no reason that it can't run all the time. It's not like they're going to not have enough people to put into matches.

Splat Dulies, followed by aerospray mg. I can't control rollers properly.

I don't know if there have been any changes since the first one, but Turf War teams are mixed at random, so if you stay in the same group you should get games with the strong players on your team.
If you want a more balanced experience, you have to go for Ranked or League mode.

Bear in mind that even in Turf War the game will generally separate high and low level players but the population is probably just a bit too low at the moment for that to be consistent, and with Ranked so many people are just starting the game that the low ranks are a bit of a mess as good players work their way through.
It'll settle down and be a bit more reliable in the next few weeks, I would think.

Short term advice would be to use the 'Recon' function to scout out levels in your own time without the interruption of being splatted. Will give you a bit more confidence going into matchmaking if you have a gameplan for the maps before you begin.

Inkbrush mainly. Waiting for brella to have it sit as my new main. Already did everything for the hero brella.

It really should be one bomb to take them down that. That or allow any weapon to damage them when open, because as it is multiple fly fish is basically a death sentence.

There's very few feelings better than one of your teammates knowing to get the hell out of dodge when it is the end of the third round of Salmon Run and everyone else is dead. I know I've done that a couple times myself.

I think the biggest problem is that they only open up to fire, so you pretty much certain to take a minimum of one volley from each one that appears.

Remove the lids so we have the chance to take them out before they fire and I think they'd be much fairer. Maybe increase their movement speed during transit if that makes them a bit too easy.
