High score isn't everything in turf war. You can be inking a lot of irrelevant ground and get a high score.

A lot of matches I win but get a low score because all I'm doing is holding and defending the center. I don't get to paint a lot of ground because the center is always in my team's color -- all I'm doing is defending it and killing whatever enemies approach. And if the center is always my team's color, then that's basically guaranteed victory.

Yeah. Also, almost 3/4ths of the match is really positioning. Once it gets towards about 30-20 seconds left, it's time to try to really lay the ink down and, best case scenario, don't die and get a couple of kills.

The last 10 seconds can really determine the game. And that's really with all the modes.

I grow tired of that as well. That and never ending camping dualies, if all motherfuckers want to do is grief other players, there's other modes and other games for that shit.

The Steelhead is easy with the machine gun. The Blaster can do it too, but you have to be closed and you will probably die lol.

Rollers can do it too, if they have the high ground, but what they should be doing is kill the mobs so the machine gun person can shoot the Steelhead without dying.

I agree. The trick is to shoot ahead if you have a fairly long range gun. Chances, you will kill them before they pop up and attack. Problem. Dualies usually comes in pairs or have an Aero player nearby to flank you. At least this always seems to happen to me.

Sometimes I'm the only guy whose actually even inking the area around our spawn area. Lol
 
it's so much fun to group wipe because people just let all the bosses stay up and take almost an entire round to beat 1 steelhead because they just keep shooting at everything but its weakness

Well, someone has to do it eventually.

It's a team game. If none of your teammates are defending the center, you have to go defend the center. If nobody is inking your home base, maybe you should ink the home base.

Though as panthapanda mentioned, timing is important. If your team is in danger of losing the center, it may not be smart to be inking your home base at that moment -- instead, it might be important to help in the center. You can always go ink your home base later when your team is in a stronger/safer position.
 
I literally haven't been able to play an entire match, I keep getting communication errors. Anyone know what I can do? Switch is upstairs and the router is downstairs but nothing else in the room has problems using wifi.

Try checking your NAT type. Go to settings and check network settings.
 
Fuck, I bought this game for my kids thinking it had split screen. I googled to see if it had local multiplayer,which it does, but I guess it's only over lan. Shame on me, but wow, split screen should have been a must on this.

Teamwork is best work.

One of my favorite moments so far...

I saw an ally about to get ambushed by an enemy.

I went undercover in the ink, went around a wall and got the enemy before he could kill my ally.

All I could say was...

BOOYAH!
 
The fact that people can leave the game and essentially ensures that you lose is shit. Almost makes me want to quit playing altogether. Horrible fucking design.
 
Seriously...is leaving a Steelhead up for almost an entire Wave a new thing people like doing or something?

Hey,. person with the only weapon we really have to beat it...how about actually hitting it's weakness sometime?

Uhh, this is every online game. Even if people could join mid-way, games are so short it wouldn't make too much of a difference anyway. Being down by even 30 seconds in a 3 min mode is enough to lose it

I should add you want type A or B. It allows your Switch to freely communicate with the host. You're probably loosing packets that's causing you to get kicked. To fix it, you're gonna need to do some googling lol.

Years of DotA when I was a teen have made me immune to this. I don't even notice that I'm down a person any more. I just question why did we lose and then I see the scoreboard. Make sense. Haha. Oh well.
 
We almost won the Salmon Run. I almost clutch it out saving all my teammates in that last stretch. Too bad 10 second day we're too long to survive the 2nd time around.

I am also guilty of this. I am so into my fight that I honestly don't noticed a D/C until the game ends. One time, we did so bad that I honestly thought someone did D/C, only to find out that we just had a really bad player who sunk the entire team.

If you're going to let this happen, severely penalize players who do this. Problem solved. Some of us don't have a lot of free time to play video games. Having that time ruined by constantly losing because of people quitting is not my idea of fun.

They do. They get banned if they disconnect too often. It's not like you can ban on a first offense, considering it could also just be a crappy connection
 
So I was playing a Rainmaker match yesterday and there was this one guy just off on the other side of the map when the other team was like 20~ away from dunking. Thinking "wth is this guy doing? We need defense"

Turns out he put down one of those super jump things in their base and it helped us win the game.

MVP, that guy.

Then next match, he was on opposite and I made it my mission to not let him ninja us.

Edit: fml they just put another pair of hunting boots on splatnet. This one has fast respawn. I bought two of them already and replaced the first with the ninja jump one. Help me Veterans?

The problem is the Switch has issues atm. My Switch is <10ft from my 802.11ac router, connected to the 5GHz band, and I've still gotten two disconnects since launch. If I was penalized for that I'd be pretty upset at Nintendo.
