Had some crazy ass Salmon Run round where coolers were being dropped in. We had 8/8 but then it suddenly went to 6/8 and we lost.

THE HELL

In my experience, zero people know how to play the mothership runs.

The reason your eggs went down is because there's a spaceship flying above that will land on the egg holder and suck up the eggs unless you shoot it.

Thanks for a recipe for shit that no one needs to eat though.

Well I don't know what they put in your mayo... Unless of course you have egg alergies.

I kind of expect the US and Euro Splatfest results to differ a bit based on how Ketchup is important in American culture and how Mayonnaise is perceived like a traditional sauce in Europe...

Wait a second! Ketchup on french fries is sacred and a must!
If you go by the origins, Belgians claims to have invented the fries, and in Belgium, fries are often associated with Mayonnaise.

The mothership steals eggs.
If anyone has the Inkjet special, absolutely use it on the Mothership. It drops a ton of golden eggs.

On another note, as someone who normally plays ranged weapons, I absolutely LOVE the Octobrush for Splat Zones. Just went from C- to B-. Did not think I could jump that far.

This makes zero sense though. Salmon Run is a team game with no equipment upgrades. A bad new player can still sink a team.

I believe it's more for the rewards, since in spite of the higher difficulty, if a team of Profreshinols win consistently, they can get the 1200p for the two superbonuses quite a bit quicker than a Part-Timer.

They really need to add bots to this game to handle all the disconnects in this game. Winning 3 v 4 is pretty difficult. They can even use the Octoling bots from single player to help balance it out a bit.

First match into B-, 3v4
... of course.

I can't believe they haven't figured out a way to have an extra player drop in when a member of a team drops out. Like, as soon as I see that we're losing ground too fast I know someone left the game and that from that point it's a losing battle.

I wouldn be surprised if they havent figured out how to do bots that consider the ink. The octolings agents in single player have no idea how to navigate the map or even throw ink are their own feet.

Lmao cool
Run a connection test on your switch see what it says

Lol, welcome to ranked

Yeah, uhhh... I might just go back to Turf War. Splat Zones are frustrating. Now I know why that one guy was so upset the other day in this thread. It's utter chaos and it requires camping and teamwork and voice chat.

Yeah (also if they are blacked out but their weapon is still in colour, rather than grayscale, that is a disconnect).
I mean if a person could drop in, give them a minimal reduction if loss, but bonus if they win for back-filling.

Only two of the people on my friends list have chosen mayo so far, while 10 went with ketchup.

Wait until the last moment before Splatfest to vote to play the numbers!

Edit: Actually got wiped on a first wave. That was relentless for a first wave. Non-stop fatties and 3 bosses. (Flyfish, Scrapper and Steel Eel)

A- in Splat Zones!

splat dualies are life

Am I not using burst bombs in the correct way? I can't seem to get any kills with them.

get creative with them. lob one and then shoot to get splats. lob them onto enemy ink to see if there's anyone hiding. lob them where the other team approaches from to apply pressure. I use the dualies so I'll also fire off some tenta missiles and then lob a burst bomb or two where the missiles locked on to to get some splats.

also get good at swim jumping, throwing one in mid air, and then pulling back to where you were to add some momentum to your throws. that way you can sit up on a perch or somewhere and get a longer distance throw.

Something I forgot people need to definitely do, hit "OUCH" when splat'd. Helps give your team an idea of where the opponent is if they didn't see you at the time, or if someone is trying to sneak around and flank.

IMO if you don't move for a whole game you should get a temp matchmaking ban, for longer periods the more you do it.

hold a direction as you're super jumping

When exactly though? Immediately as I take off, or as I land or..?

Done a few ranked games for the first time. Wow, serious step up from turf wars.

Splat zones is fun but seems sooo hard if your team are silly. With no voice chat it's impossible to explain simple things like "they are all 4 in the point, don't run in one at a time or they will kill you one at a time."

I swear this is a very basic concept which became almost instantly apparent but not for my team! Maybe I've been playing too much overwatch.

burst bombs and tenta missiles

the best jerry, the best

Rankin up isnt hard. You never lose rank...

I gotta git gud. I wanna win!!!!

Hahaah not really a huge fan of Overwatch but that was my first experience with Ranked Splat Zones as well. This is brutal... addicting but still brutal.

I already played more Splatoon 2 than the original on Wii U. What changed in the sequel was enough to get me completely hooked on the game. I'm playing non stop since launch :)

Is it even possible to rank down?

I haven't ranked down, no matter how much I lose.

Ranks are meaningless in this version.

Sure you can. Say you're Rank B. You will see a small yellow line somewhere on your bar. If you lose too many games (indicated by the cracks on the bar), and you haven't crossed the yellow line, you rank down.

Splatoon 2 is amazing. Released at just the right time! :D
How?

I never do. How many times in a row do you have to lose? Most of the time I don't even lose my meter.

I've actually been thinking how easy its been to get up to A-

Lmao oh stop bragging. I'm fighting tooth and nail in C-.

I'm not bragging. I honestly think they changed the rank system so much that just about any body should be able to rank up lol.

Hahahah every-time I lose in Splat Zone... my level up bar increases just a little bit. My avatar sits on the ground and he looks depressed. He's depressed. I'm depressed.

I had a match where it was just 100 and the team swept us.

I'm in the C- Warzone.

Got any tips?
