Ho hum, Mayo won. Whatever, I just found you can put the Switch to sleep without going to the menu by holding the Home button then pressing A. This is enough of a victory for me.

I liked them at first but I've gotten pretty frustrated by how imprecise they are. I spend a lot of time aiming right at people and either not hitting them or just clipping them a couple times. I loved the dual squelcher in Splatoon 1, which these seem to be based on, and the dualies are just flat out inferior:

The dual squelcher had pretty much the same range, damage and fire rate but with a more accurate ink stream and way better side weapons. It gave you an actual ink bomb and the ability to mark the entire enemy team at once. The dualies are way sloppier and require you to roll to get the same kind of stable ink stream, which is not practical to do in a lot of situations, and the radar bomb is flat out useless the majority of the time. Even in ranked mode where enemies will be clustered together, I haven't found it to be worth the ink it costs. The tenta-missiles are also not the greatest.


I've just started using the regular jet squelcher and I prefer it. It's slower, but you get much better accuracy and range and you have a much more useful grenade option.
 
The rhythm minigame I'm this is the stealth GotY for me tbh, it's like a mini Taiko lol

Got gold in Ebb and Flow on normal yesterday and I felt better than after some of my splatfest wins lol

Hard difficulty is crazy tho
 
Odd. My aiming has improved significantly with the Dual Squelchies. Oh well. That aiming bomb that only tracks your enemies does suck though.

When's the next Splatfest?
 
I just wish we had a normal Slosher with the Burst Bomb sub. The Burst Bomb has really grown on me, but I vastly prefer the regular Slosher's painting arc to the Tri-Slosher's...

And yes, they really need to drop the ink usage of the tracking bomb. It's just not worth it as it is.

I hope that the next Splatfest does a point system ala the original Splatoon. Popularity should be weighed a little more. Something like Popularty + Solox4 + Teamx2 would be good, I think.

To be fair most of the US eats garbage like Hellman's Or some other national brand crap mayo/no-mayo/mayo like substance like Miracle Whip, which are both sins to humanity.

If you grew up in the Southeast you ate Duke's which is a much more traditional real mayo, more yellow in color, a lot more flavor, could still use some more seasoning, but nothing offensive. Duke's mixed with all kinds of stuff is the bomb.

I recently ate at Michael Symon's BBQ joint in downtown Cleveland and the menu sells Duke's to the patrons as some secret sauce. I love the idea that someone who didn't grow up with it realizes how much better it legitimately is.


Also I am kind of pissed that I was screwed out of more snails thanks to the slow ass match making last night, needed two more points for King and had the game kick at midnight while waiting on a ketchup team in the lobby. If they had faster match making I would have gotten that last match in...

I spent 20 hours on the campaign and the rhythm minigame combined before I even delved into the multiplayer. Both are so good.
 
I feel like an asshole. I've been doing so good and winning that at the end I'm spamming booyah lol.

I'm in a good groove where I feel unstoppable.

Honestly I think it was bc of the Splatfest, but they should of had one lined up for like this afternoon. I wonder if they are rotating the gear or something when they do these extended breaks.
 
I'm a little stuck in Octo Canyon. It's the level in world 3 with the hero charger. I best two Octolings and got a key, but there's no place to use it.

Ha, I'm wearing those because I can't find anything with Ink Resist and 3 slots on shoes and can't find anything with Swim Speed up and 3 slots on headgear. So I have ink resist on my headgear and swim speed up on my shoes instead (I run ninja squid).

Ketchup won the popular vote over here in the US.
 
Logged on yesterday day to see a Splatfest was running. Could not get a single game; timed out every time due to lack of players (NZ/Aus region). It seems games are harder to get with Splatoon 2 than they were with 1 (Just a feeling) and no ability to cancel the wait is insane.

Edit: Oh, Mayo won - the world is good again....mmm mayo on hot chips.

That's a massive shame.

I was blessed this weekend, full lobbies, Mayo v Ketchup. I didn't play the first Splatoon that much but it was great for me this weekend.

edit: I ordered those. They look like Jordan 3s (?)

"Red and Black Squidkids" And white. Theres a lot of white there which ruins it.

Though in the picture here they look like classic gameboy grey and burgundy.
 
Just played a few rounds with the 8bitdo FC30 Pro. I was a bit concerned about the odd shoulder buttons but it's a pretty small controller and your primary buttons are directly where your fingers fall.

Nice piece of kit. Thumb sticks at the right places and a decent d-pad. Can't beat it!
 
Going into the Lobby sometimes my background will freak out and flash and be distorted. Restarting the game fixes it but I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else?
 
Some guy splatted me and mashed on the ZL button so I splatted him, did the same and he rage quitted and we won and this is where I am with this game.

Lolwut? The Switch goes into sleep mode by simply pressing the power button once.
